The Micromaster issue is 100% Hasbro/Takara's fault. They can sit back all they want to and claim that they didn't sell well. But the blame falls on them for producing poorly designed toys and not living up to their own promises regarding said toys.
Not producing full teams, not producing proper versions of characters but rather just repainting 1 car mode several times. There was clearly little effort put into the line

Not to mention the poor QC. Limbs popping off all over the shop just trying to Transform them.

So where was the explosion of new product that we should have seen at SDCC? Are they holding back for the leakers or have we seen it all?

You say there's "little effort" but you don't know what goes into making them. Also "what promises"? They didn't make any promises.

"Proper versions". Did you expect unique molds for every character??

To be completely fair, the late Siege and pretty much all the ER micromasters were significantly better, but most ppl had been justifiably put off by the early ones (the rescue patrol being an absolute dumpster fire)

They never promised full teams or "proper versions of characters"

Every single character needs their own unique mold at the highest price point possible no matter how obscure or straight up unpopular they are, I need to check off another name off my list of characters that vaguely existed in g1!!

SDCC is obsolete as far as figure reveals go, in addition to the fan fest coming up next week Hasbro is doing another Pulsecon this fall in place of a presence at SDCC

If they redo G1 Arcee, I hope the mold has headmaster compatibility (even if the included head doesn't transform). They could make the seat removable, one "empty" and one with molded-in Daniel. And if the do need to provide a headmaster for her (for people that skipped the Titans Return Arcee), they can repaint TR Chromedome into an Arcee for the Retro line. That would homage the "conceptual" G1 Arcee, allow the Hascon version to remain "special", and probably save Hasbro some money since I think both Hascon Arcee and TR Chromedome are derived from TR Blurr (not sure if those all used the same Titanmaster body, I know Blurr and Chromedome did).

if they ever decide to redo some headmasters, keep the gimmick related to those characters and those characters only.

they were also ridiculously overpriced for what they were (as were the Battlemasters)
    $10 for 2 sub-hotwheels sized Transformers?

The micromaster jets and cassettes were good, other than that they're pretty shit

Also I recently got my first battlemaster figure from ebay and wow it's a mess, I never knew how hollow and flimsy they were, and the blast effects don't make up for it. They must've failed as well, right?

Personally, even if it was just a Headmaster connection with no proper Headmaster just as an homage to Rebirth (I'm thinking a la Nitro Zeus), that would kill the entire figure for me.

Those connection points are so god damn fiddly and annoying that I can only really stand it on proper Headmaster characters because that's their gimmick. But anyone else? Nope. And Arcee's stint as a headmaster was so brief, and only in one form of fiction (Rebirth only, not even the Headmasters anime), that I don't think she counts as a "proper Headmaster character".

Now, that being said, a repaint of TR Chromedome with the headmaster from TR Arcee would be a fantastic idea. Like you said, it's an homage to a cancelled figure, which would be really cool. Though as it stands, I absolutely do not want to see a new, possibly voyager class Arcee like I suggested, be absolutely ruined with an annoying feature like a headmaster port at her neck.

Again, that's just my personal opinion. Not meant as anything hostile or anything. I can see the desire for a headmaster Arcee, even if we technically got one in TR. It's just not something I want.

would it be worth it to bite the bullet and get the magic square stunticons now or wait untill motor master is revealed and then do it depending on how that figure looks?
its really about the same price for them anyways. $150 for the menasors, about $120-150 for the limbs combined (all prices in AUD)

Personally, at least as unique as the originals were. Tailwind and Hot House shared a mold, and I'd like it if it stays that was, but I dislike Nightflight and Whisper to share a mold.

In my opinion, Micromasters at least should have:
    -Head articulation
    -Shoulder articulation
    -Elbow articulation
    -Waist articulation
    -Hip articulation
    -Knee articulation
    -No limb clearance issues
    -3mm hand holes
    -1:35 scale robot modes
    -"Micro" gimmick retention
    -Accurate to original likenesses
    -Sufficiently large playsets/bases
-Wrist articulation(well, this is more of an optional thing, but most Lego-style minifigs have it)
-At least 1 accessory(like a hand gun), not including alt mode-mounted equipment

The Siege/Earthrise Micromaster had a fraction of that. Limited articulation, no ability to hold weapons of their own, and their bases(who were just alt modes of other TFs) were 1:150 scale, way too small for even the smallest scale alt mode(now I never expect alt mode scale to be unified in the slightest, especially with micros, but this is too ridiculous of a disparity to even function as intended.

Targetmasters(or Battlemasters, assuming they'll still be called that) should have all of the abose except the "Micro gimmick retention" and "Sufficiently large playsets/bases", as those are Micromaster-specific.

This honestly should go for every micro TF, like Minicons, Powermasters, Breastmasters, etc as well.

And yes, at this point, it's ridiculous that they don't have most of these features.

once again, i think everyone is vastly overestimating what can be done with a $5 figure at this size that has to put engineering/parts count/joints budget into places other than purely articulation

"Once again", I'm not expecting all that to be in a $5 offering. $12 minimum.
