Did anyone ever play the Skylanders games? Well picture this- a Transformers Toys-To-Life Game! Think about it, the portal the figures sit on to be scanned into the game could look something like Starscream's coronation stand. There would be characters from all universes to collect, even special editions like Coronation Starscream and Decepticon Deadlock (Drift before he became an Autobot). The bases the figures are attached to would be Autobot/Decepticon/Etc insignias. And it would be multiplayer! What do you think?

Isn't that what the Cyberverse toys do? I mean, the one with those scan barcode somewhere on their chest/etc like Legion class Steeljaw.

Mm. Yeah, I think you scanned the barcode and the character popped up in a mobile game. I think they were from the 2015 RID series, though.

Ah yes, I forgot which series but I think you got the idea.

It's a neat idea though, especially if we can have AR incorporated. So you can let's say, scan a Wheeljack and you can have small Wheeljack running around your house on your phone.

I tend to avoid that kind of stuff because they can be an addictive money sink, but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to one existing.

Lego Dimensions and Skylanders are cool.

Yeah your right. I don't want to think about how much money was spent during my days as a 'Portal Master'. But I'd still buy a TF version.

You mean the Netflix series the game? No. The designs ARE NOT supposed to be exactly one to one with the toys, in fact they look pretty stupid when they are (looking at you Netflix series) because it adds the weird misplaced/wonky parts that only exist on the toys like weirdly placed shoulder cannons or bulky backpacks. Yes, they are supposed to be pretty close, but not one to one.

At this point, I don't even care if the game even has toys, I just want a new game that's actually good.

My game idea would take characters from G1, Beast Wars, Animated, etc. The figures would be just like Skylanders figures, non-converting. When you place a figure on a portal, the character would warp onto the TV screen and say a catchphrase. (G1 Prime would say "Autobots, roll out!" Springer would say "Wreck and Rule!") I know...crazy idea.
We do need a new video game that's not on mobile. Maybe another War for Cybertron.

Yeah, they already tried "Toys to Life" with the RID2015 mobile game. It didn't do well at all.

As for making the figures non-converting statuettes like Skylanders figurines?

    Absolutely, horrendously stupid idea.

The genre is called "Transformers." Making non-transforming figures defeats the entire purpose.

We actually have lot of non Transforming line though... I mean, RED series is just one example.

And I stand by my opinion that the RED series is completely redundant. I sort of understand the model kits because I know that's a popular genre (Gundam alone proves that), but I don't understand why those couldn't be designed to transform, either.

I agree, I liked the idea at first but now I dont like it as much as the only characters probably worth a damn are Arcee and Knockout, but that's only because we haven't got a quality figure of them yet and not because they can't transform.

For model kits, it's probably because transforming them will make it more fragile / needing extra parts / etc.

Or just different fanbase altogether, since Model Kit / RED aims for more accurate instead of ability to transform.

Not really, I never liked the concept of Toys To Life, and evidently the consumer got sick of it as well given how these flooded the market and clearance bins. Heck a lot of people, myself included, often just bought this just to collect the figure and never actually used them

Once again, REDUNDANT. Modern transforming toys have a very high level of "accuracy" to them. Beyond that, the definition of "accuracy" will vary from person to person. Someone could want cartoon accuracy, another could want comic book accuracy (Magenta Soundwave will never not be ugly IMO), a third could want original toy accuracy. RED only provides "accuracy" to one, while eschewing all the others. Besides, in order to be 100% accurate, it needs the ability to transform regardless of which style you want.

I mean, you can say it's redundant anytime you want, doesn't change the fact that there's a fanbase for it. Otherwise, Hasbro won't keep making it *shrug*

I would certainly hope they stop making them fairly soon; they’re ridiculous, a poor investment, and as I will say once again, redundant. Why would anybody buy RED Cheetor when the Kingdom version simply exists? Same with the Optimus and Megatron figures?

Again, you can keep repeating the word "redundant" until it being redundant itself, doesn't change the fact that people will buy them. And if it gives Hasbro money, they'll still keep making it. Doesn't matter what you think of it.

Because Kingdom one isn't accurate? As much as I love the Kingdom one, he is not accurate to the old BW one. There's Masterpiece, but it's expensive compared to RED.

Same with Megs, the only exception is Optimus Primal which I wonder why they went into a route of mixing Kingdom and old BW styling.

Anyway, this is getting out of topic very far away so I'll just leave it here.
