Think I’ll get one of these. I love the fact they turn into ordinary looking hatchback cars rather than fancy sports cars like the other car-bots. Don’t get me wrong, I love those sports car autobots, and I have several across masterpiece and WFC lines. But I love the idea that any car that you might see regularly on the road, even your own family car, might turn into a robot. And I do like these hatchback cars. Picking which one isn’t so easy, as there’s things about each that I prefer. Skids: most mainstream character, and I like the head and blue colouring. Oddly, while I do like blue cars, I find that bright stripe a bit of a clash. And he costs as much as Reboost and doesn’t have the scooter! Reboost: Nice colour in both modes. I’m not usually so keen on the hotter colours like red for cars, preferring cool colours like blue and silver, but it really works with this Honda hatchback! Looks really iconic! And he comes with the most accessories of them all! One major turn off for me,though: the Optimus Prime head. I like Optimus Prime’s head, but only on Optimus. Well and on Nemesis and versions of Ultra Magnus, I guess, but they’re kinda like clones. Crosscut: Has the same head as Reboost, but being coloured red it doesn’t bother me. Has almost as many accessories as Reboost, and I love silver coloured cars. I think he is the one I’ll choose as he is a good all-rounder. Unfortunately, at his cheapest he is £5 more expensive than the others, but he still is a decent price for a masterpiece nowadays. I’d kinda like Skids and Crosscut, but I think I’ll stick to one in this case, likely Crosscut.
Just preordered this guy. He’ll be my first masterpiece. Might end up getting Skids and Reboost. I love the Skids design. Imo one of the best G1 designs. Love this guys colours.
already have XTB Savant and Herald and have Taiho on pre-order, not going to replace those but I am waiting for Reboost to see how things are with it before I order it. not that I'm expecting it to be bad or anything, just have too many other figures that are higher on the want list right now.
I thought the same way when i first started collecting, I changed my mind after crossing over to the dark side, lol.
Oh I’ve no issue with third party, I’m just relatively new to collecting so I’ven’t really looked into it. Also I don’t think that there’s a lot of third party companies that do chug, and I don’t generally do MP. There are definitely some third party legends that I’ve seen that look tempting, though.
I ordered Crosscut from Omegalock. They had a deposit option so I clicked that, thinking I'd just be paying a small portion now and be charged the balance when it's in stock. They never specified how much is would be though. Just checked my card payment and they took the lot! So what's the difference between deposit and full payment then? Is the deposit where you pay everything up front, in this case? Not a big deal at it's would have to be paid at some point anyway, but seemed a bit cheeky. I likely just misunderstood though. Looking forward to this guy.
