G1 Megatron is the only one I bought because I don't think Hasbro will ever give me something like this in the Generations line, tank mode or whatever. He's good for what he is but he doesn't really inspire me to buy more.

Dunno if anyone else cares, but I talked to Walmart customer chat earlier today, and ALLEGEDLY RED Bumblebee might be shipping on the 15th? So if anyone's looking out for him, he might actually be around soon.

There were 3 of each: Bumblebee and Starscream at my local WM.

Lucked out, was checking a couple of local Walmarts and found Starscream at the East Syracuse Walmart. They also had a bunch of Cheetors, and Arcee's. Grabbed the last Starscream out. He was hidden by a trio of Bumblebees.

I saw a Starscream in Wisconsin (solo no bee). So hopefully they will be available online for everyone else sooner than later.

Am I the only one annoyed by the size of Bumblebee? He is so big that kind of look bigger than Optimus, Megatron and Soundwave...

Reason why I am skipping him. Hoping Super7 does one that scales better. Perhaps make him around 5 inches or so to the roughly 7" scale reg TF's. Add some nice accessories to offset his size (not surprised if he comes with the helicopter backpack from his Action Master release).

The last time I looked it says age 8+ on the boxes, unless you mean the focus is on kid collectors.

You really went back nearly two months to quote this? I’m not even sure what you’re trying to say anyway. What focus? I never said anything about focus. There is no point to the RED figures when Generations (and now Super 7) exist. Why anyone would want a $20 non-transforming version of a character that canonically turns into something is beyond me. Just save up the extra cash and buy the one that exists. These only really make sense for impossible transformations and even then it seems like we’re getting Beasts and Prime figures in Generations soon enough, so you may as well just wait.

And speaking from experience with the G1 Megatron figure, they’re not really anything special. Their articulation’s okay but feels way more restrictive than the Siege mold (that also transforms!). Accessories would be better with more hand options and stuff (which Super 7 is doing). It’s a fine enough figure, but if I wasn’t planning on having a G1 Megatron shrine I wouldn’t have bothered. Anyone really in the market for something like this would be better off buying one of the Super 7 Ultimates which come with a lot more enticing things for your buck.

    I read old stuff sometimes.

How is a line for 8 year olds collector focused? You said it.

You know, I wasn't necessarily bummed out about it, but I was surprised at how beefy he was when he showed up. His proportions are a lot more "muscular" than I'd have expected at first, and it's funny how broad it makes him look compared to some of the others.

Fair enough, though it's funny you quoted me complaining about Sunbow stuff when I've totally changed my tune in the past few months.

Because it's not really for 8-year olds, just by looking at...well, any aspect of the line. From how its marketed, to how its released, to what it features, to what it promotes. Generations is a line that kids can enjoy but it's not strictly for them.

Hasbro has succeeded with its various legacy franchises by combining the collector aspects with the mass kid appeal. Kids can get into Generations because there's nothing really stopping them from doing so but it's through-and-through a line specifically made to target the collector side of the fandom. You can't honestly sit there and tell me with a straight face that the average kid these days is gonna know who Crosshairs is or know how to order Bug Bite and other Generations Selects through Hasbro Pulse. If the line were just "for eight year olds" then it wouldn't consist mostly of characters who haven't had any mass media presence since like, 1987. Fan First Fridays and other areas of announcement are also objectively not targeted towards younger kids but adult collectors.

Generations just objectively isn't a line made for eight-year olds, though it is a line that an eight-year old can enjoy.

Red starscream is interesting, I mean it's nice to see the crown and stuff but it's weird.
