Well...just got my first ever NECA breakage...just received my Bebop and Rocksteady after having them on order for over a year. I get the Bebop out do some hot water trick and his damn leg breaks off. Any chance NECA will help?
I honestly barely move any of my neca figures. If a limb even remotely gives resistance I just stop. Been that way since the gears of war days. Every. Single. Figure. Broke.
dorkside sucks. They charged me for an "in stock" core class soundwave back in June and it still hasn't shipped. Was an "error" in their system that honestly reminds me of megalopolis
My experience with them might be an oddity, but I don't think I'll ever order from them again. Glad it was only a $10 figure and not something more expensive.
True that! Ever since I saw the April head all I see is Evangeline Lily. I wonder if the Wasp head got any re-use
Maybe they prefer it there to fight off attacks from above? Kind of funny though. S7 Metalhead looks great, can't wait to get one when it eventually releases in my homeland (usually several months after everywhere else). Don't care for rangers or for human bodies with turtle heads slapped on top. Fun for rangers fans maybe? Kind of a lazy lightning re-use imo, I would not buy any version of the concept, but the figs could have been better designed rather than body swapped. They are well known for not only not helping on breakages/defects but totally *ignoring* any requests relating to such. you are stuck with repair it yourself or seek a refund from the dealer. Their own business (neca) is publicly listed also as "non-durable goods" meaning they wipe their hands of any breakages, as they expect people to keep them in packaging (they still break in package, and in shipping) and not pose them etc.
Except that these aren't "lazy re-uses"???? The Turtles got unique sculpts. You can say you don't like 'em but don't just make up shit to try and justify it.
My mistake, clearly every single part is entirely new tooling and unrelated in any way to the tooling of the lightning collection. Please keep it civil or I'll just block you. You can disagree with me, I dont care. But be sensible about it. No second chances.
I mean, when it comes to the Turtles (not April) there actually doesn't appear to be any reuse from previous Lightning Collection figures. Even the arms/legs appear to be new more muscular/thicker sculpts. The regular male arms/legs don't have that level of definition.
Just curious but what did he say that was so uncivil? He's right in that it's not lazy re-use, it's cool that you don't like them more for us, I'm sure LC will make something else to you're liking.
I'm a little disappointed that they chose to pair Mikey with April. I just wanted the Turtles from this subset but I guess they knew people might do that so they're splitting Mikey and Raph up. Went ahead and canceled my preorder on Donnie/Leo because it just isn't worth it to me. Oh well.
But you could just sell the 2 humans, it's not that serious, I have no intention of using April Ranger but that head will make for a great custom April
I'm loving that we can get the TMNT/PR crossover designs in toy form but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on the pre orders yet. I think the one thing that stands out to me is that the proportions of head to bodies is somewhat off to me. I would prefer larger heads. After looking through the promo photos, the turtles look somewhat pinheaded to me.
True but that's a little more trouble than I'd like to deal with. I guess it'll depend who they pair with Raphael. If it's Casey I might bite.
I must confess, I was being a little ironic since I'm not interested in this mmpr-tmnt crossover at all, and was surprised to see so much enthusiasm for it. I'm not the biggest lightning collection fan either, so this release doesn't appeal to me on that front either. What you say about Neca is true, there's a video made by RetroBlasting regarding the issue. I see a lot of bickering regarding toy companies, and it strikes me as an unfortunate symptom mirroring the polarization afflicting our time. I do find it unfortunate that collectors will defend a toy-company blindly while attacking fellow collectors diverging tastes. Let us remember that we can enjoy their product AND expect them to improving on their flaws, and it is fair to criticize their faulty practices. The best way we can send our message is with out wallets, and the more fanatical we are, the more companies can get away with excuses/lying/giving us shitty products. Its just the reality of things. If I don't like the figures you enjoy, that's totally okay. This idea of respecting each other's independent thought and taste is sadly under threat, and the collector community is no different. I'm relieved there are still forums that preserve civility of discussion but for how long?
So after posting the Bebop picture, I decided to email Necaclub with my order number and the picture. I then received an auto email telling me it was going to be a while getting a reply, fast forward to 830 am this morning and they already sent me a reply. The said they are contacting the warehouse to see if there is stock and if so they are sending me one out. If there is not, they will put me on a waitlist and send me one once they come in. Lighting fast and friendly response, so I am hoping things will soon be resolved. I will say that I have been buying NECA stuff since the 08 Mirage Turtles and never had a problem till now, hell I mess with the Mirage ones from time to time and they are still great. I understand that my luck is NOT some other people’s and that is unfortunate, but I get this feeling that everyone now thinks NECA is the most awful company in the world thanks to Retroblasting. I am sorry, but nothing is really going to make that guy 100 percent happy, everyone needs to make their own minds on the company. That said, I am far from a NECA apologist, but I just see the other side of extremism just as bad as well.
