Hi everyone, My name is Dave, and I’m a legends addict. (Hi, Dave) To go with my newfound addiction, I’m looking for good options for displays- I know there are some ark dioramas, and I’m familiar with some of the kotobuyuka (or whatever) base-building panels. Can the community provide the options for displays? Many thanks in advance!
NewAge did these two: Magic Square did these background plates (a couple of which were included with my MS Toy Deco Reflector when I bought it and I'm looking to sell):
I guess there’s the NEWAGE space bridge, which will only cost 3-400 dollars to accrue… Is this really all there is?
They're definitely flawed but I have a few sets by Extreme-Sets and I plan on getting this one for obvious reasons. I've have had a lot of luck with how well my only Legends scale figure works with them. Deluxe Headquarters Pop-Up Diorama 1/12 Just an example of how they scale. This is one called "The Cave."
@deaculpa What is it you would like to see made? Make a list and put some votes to it, if there is enough interested I know how to get it done.
Well, they're cardboard so some of the edges will sort of fray over time. And some of the extras such as the computer consoles may have gaps due to the cardboard not flexing enough. It's minor gripes though. I'm super excited to get the decepticon lair. I have the cave and one of the sewer sets and again, yes they have slight issues but overall I love them.
hey, this is a great idea, but I don’t have a lot of ideas.. let me think on this and I’ll make a thread/poll.
The nice part is the City bots work great as cities with legend scale bots.. Heck some parts of my dioramas are just hot wheels and matchbox sets I spray painted silver. You can get these types of things really cheap on ebay. The rest was mostly custom printed out posters. You don't have to spend a lot on these.
To be honest I am working 6 days a week, so do not have time to finish what I am making yet but Diorama's are not pre made sets IMO now I started that hobby. Those are displays. Diorama is a mini world in details, a work of imagination and skills. I am not saying anymore when I finish them because since my income doubled, I am waiting till next payday to get a lot more items and tools for the Diorama's so I can really do what I want with them. Not saying you can do cool things with the pre made sets but you are making a display when you just put those items together. Maybe slightly different about how other have set them up but you do end up with something that sooooo many other people have. That is not the point of Diorama's.
lots if options. you can scratch build like my ark display or peice something together like the city display. search for 1/64 or "S" scale diorama on ebay, google, etc. I'm a fan of how modular the city stuff is.
FrontlineGamingUS I have one of their 6x4 mats for my legends figs. They look amazing and there is a huge variety. Natural terrains, city (the roads are PERFECT size for alt mode cars), space/scifi. They also have smaller options if you don't have a huge table. Can see more (out of date) pics in my sig.
One thing I never put much thought into is what Legends scale actually is. Is it around 1:50 scale or something like that? That would help a lot when trying to find suitable diorama pieces and accessories that are not specifically designed for Legends scale.
There is also a ton of stuff you can 3d print. Try searching 1:32 scale or whatever on cults3d. You can also resize everything to get a perfect scale that you are after.
Hi Dave. My name is Steve, and I am also a legends addict. Here is the Ark playset from the AOE Dinobots SDCC set. Last I checked these can still be found! Great for legends...in fact i'd say better for legends than CHUG. Forgive the images with outdated figures, they are a couple years old. And here is something I was able to cobble together with "Mega Blocks" (I think it was a Halo ship)...any way made for a half-decent Decepticon backdrop.
