Yeah, I had a bit of a brainfart there for a second. I'm surprised there hasn't been any parts swapping as a cost measure but you're right, I don't think they've done it yet.
Yea, I'm surprised it doesn't really happen. Granted I can't think of any times off the top of my head that it's happened in recent memory
In my head cannon as a kid, I always reasoned that the persistant war caused a global fracturing. Cobra slowly devolved into civil war and different groups splintered out (iron grenadiers and python patrol) As the joe teams worked to figure it all out, they had to separate into sub groups (and as old joes were KIA) the teams took on the remaining original team that was left. I liked seeing gung ho lead the mega marines with original guys like clutch. Just seemed cool as a kid.
That's what I'm saying, I don't think they have. I don't doubt it'll happen eventually but as far as I'm aware it's been all new sculpts for this line aside from reuses from figures in the same line.
I doubt they will. They're not exactly the same scale, as Joes are smaller than ML. Just like we haven't seen any SW Black parts crossing over with ML or other "6-inch" lines, b/c SWB is barely a 6-inch line (more like 5-7/8") and ML has become a 6.5" line. But historically they almost never crossed over parts in the 4" lines either. The only time I can ever recall is the Joe team using an Indiana Jones 4" figure for the base of SDCC suited cobra commander. Otherwise, Hasbro just doesn't mix parts from various lines much.
The 80’s teams had better deco palettes compared to the likes of Eco Warriors, Mega Marines and especially Battle Corps. Gems to be found in all 3 but few and far between. Given that the 40th anniversary of ARAH is next year, I think you could be right. Big stretch to think a Crusader shuttle(as shown in 1 logo) would be possible for Classified(even for Haslab) but less of a stretch if it’s for the retro line
Last night, received an email from Amazon saying my Snake Eyes Movie figures are arriving by Thursday. This morning it said it will be here tomorrow. I was one of the lucky ones where the Snake Eyes was listed on Amazon for $5. Looks like Amazon is honoring it
That Vulture does serve as a good proof of concept for a modern take on Raptor, regardless of whether it reuses actual parts or just inspires a new approach by the Joe sculptor.
Wait, when did Amazon start selling that set? Back when it went up for preorder people said it wouldn't be sold on Amazon, so I stopped looking for it and went with BBTS.
This is exactly what I thought when I saw these logos—store-specific Classified counterparts to Cobra Island. Walmart Tiger Force, Walgreen's Python Patrol, Pep Boy's Star Brigade...
Baroness arrived today. Love the figure. No qc issues. The bike is way better than I thought it would be.
The wording was: PERFECT GEOMETRIC SHAPE BOX, which allowed the box to stand upright all on its own, which is apparently what made it perfect quality for a private museum. @Keiman74 has it as the little message/status thing that shows up under the username if you ever need a reminder of that awesomeness. I should have screenshotted the listing. Good times.
Beat me to it but yup, @Maglite is spot on. That listing was the pinnacle of scalper batshit insanity for Cobra Island exclusives.
Got my Baroness in yesterday and... Meh. It's one of those things where everything that I had seen of her before actually having the figure in hand looked great. Then I open the figure, try to pose it a bit, play with the bike, and decide it's not worth the $43 that I paid after taxes. Going to be returning her to Target before the end of the week. I could put her up for sale, but I just don't feel like bothering with the hassle of packing her up, shipping, etc. I'll probably piece together a Baroness that I like better out of ML figures and call it a day with this line.
