Actually, the real fun is that Mirage has been a Lola, a Penske, a Ford, a Formula, an Indianapolis style, an Audi style and a Ferrari style car. And now, he is a Porsche, thats so great about transformers.
I guess Mirage is going to be one of the main characters of the movie? We have pretty much only seen him, Bumblebee, and Optimus, and Mirage has gotten the most attention so far.
No but cranking out different version of bumble be on a consistent basis is everything to do with trademark. Hasbro has lost names in the past. I'm not opposed to reformatting or different altmodes but the movies have shown that names don't mean squat to the people making the movies. Because they still see this all as just commercials to sell toys. Hell the MCU is kinda doing the same thing. Their comic books have taken a back seat to the movies and toys now. I can't find a decent Captain America figure that doesn't look like Chris Evans for my Small Cap collection because the movies are what sells. G1 still sells its the only reason I started WFC and I'm even on theses boards. Any time over the last decades that something G1 decent that came out id buy. I dont want to shit on what people like everyone is entitled to there opinions and likes but I just don't see any other series reaching that level of consumer loyalty and staying power. I'm the same way with Gundam. I'm UC all the way but I like Wing and GFighters. But original UC gets my money. Granted the other timelines are more popular on the other side the globe. So maybe thats not the greatest example. Except those are continuing stories. Amaro doesn't show up in Wing or Seed some core characteristics from the Original show up in all the other time lines but they arentheir own thing. Ultimately I think that's what I would prefer. Give me a different prime altogether with different subordinates give me a different villain not just a different design with the same names.

I'll agree with others and "complain" that say this should just be Jazz ONLY IF the robot mode looks more like traditional G1 Jazz, head sculpt and all and not more so like G1-esk Mirage with a Porshe alt mode. Which I think he will look like the G1 Mirage with Porshe parts since they seem to be going more closer to the source material/G1 with other characters like Prime and Arcee.
no, i mean Formula 1 cars literally are not particularly capable of driving on roads other than flat Formula 1 race tracks very smooth racing tires, very limited suspension, extremely low clearance to make a Formula 1 car capable of driving on normal roads, it would require a substantial amount of modification, if not an entirely custom-built vehicle it makes sense they'd go with a car that's actually designed to go on roads
Honestly I eouldnt mine mirage getting jazz alt mode for one movie and then he changes by the next movie. Or when jazz lands they have an argument of who should have the porsche alt mode and jazz wins
Is over half of these films not CG & special effects? Let's not excuse content and figures all the time, let's not cup their balls too hard, and have a bit of complacency. Movie magic and all that jazz (who should be the Porsche).
Boy I really do hope Mirage looks like Mirage. That way I can agree with everyone here in that he should be named Jazz so we can finally return to the UT day's of name-slapping. And considering Scourge has a G1 style head and Prime/Arcee look like their G1 counterparts according to those who've actually seen the designs unlike the people here, that's very likely.
Honestly, I would love to have seen them use a blue and white Ferrari for Mirage. I think DOTM Dino has established himself as a solid new character, that using a brand new Ferrari for Mirage wouldn't be an issue. How kickass would Mirage be as a Ferrari Then, if they don't want to use Jazz as the Porsche, bring in Stepper, Ricochet, or retcon poor CJ. His personality fits a hell of alot better for the role of this Porsche anyway. I mean, CJ and Mirage in the same movie at the same time......how freaking awesome would all the snarking be
Ultimately using a F1 car of any era as a altmode is pointless. They don't blend in anywhere and there would be a massive amount of mass shifting...which I have no problem with honestly. I think a better car would be a 90s Honda NSX. The NSX basically looked the same during the 90s so this 98 model i think would work.
I think his transformation will have the rear of the Porche be his chest. I think with a spoiler and the downward shape, they can pull off a recognizable movie Mirage.
