That'd be an interesting twist, and allow for Adam and Teela to be able to develop their relationship beyond their established duties (since depending on continuity, the Sorceress's ability to operate beyond the castle is limited). Someone else taking on the mantle, allowing Teela to choose her own destiny, would be an interesting story to tell.
I think it would be great if Skeletor meets his demise in part 2, with the help of Evil-Lyn. Just as Teela says thanks, Evil-Lyn takes up the Havoc Staff and assumes her destiny as THE self proclaimed Master of the Universe, as she spoke of in episode 3. She says she was born to rule. Basically, Teela is taken aback while Evil-Lyn says, "I warned you. I said that I was held back by my devotion to Skeletor. He's no longer in my way. I can now fulfill MY destiny." and then bam! Season 2 teaser. To be fair, I simply would like more of Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn.
I know the show being about Spikor was a joke and all, but a show/anthology series about the individual Masters Of The Universe Heroes and Villains sounds pretty neat to me. Take one episode to explore each of the characters individually. Or, just take an episode or so out to explore just a random hero. A story without He-Man, or very little He-Man in it. Like, let's say an episode highlighting Spikor and Clamp Champ racing/battling for something. Idk, the rest of the show being about Spikor sounds fun to me too.
As I stated previously the best way for them to do that is to make He-Man and Skeletor DLC in Injustice 3. He-Man could be a close to mid-range fighter while Skeletor is a mid to long range attacker.
I've never played these games, but the PS2 200x one looks pretty neat. The GBA one looks like it could be fun too. Yea, I'd say a new He-Man video game would be great, as these ones clearly show it can be done well enough to at least look fun. It looks like the last game was an Android game in 2012, so I'd say we are overdue for a new He-Man video game.
So, while I don't see them doing that, it would actually not go against those themes. It would just be a really deep cut in terms of how it follows them. In the MOTUC lore, Evil-Lyn's father was a (disgraced, former) member of the Council. The Sorceress is standing in for the Council and guarding their collected wisdom and power. So by taking on the responsibilities of the Sorceress, she would be bringing her father's legacy full-circle. Of course they'd have to explain all that in the show, or it would be bad writing worthy of the Star Wars Sequels.
Can you imagine her summoning Adam to defend Castle Grayskull? "So do you plan on getting here soon or do I have to do this myself?"
For some reason, I have an easy time imagining her hitting future Heroes of Grayskull on the head with her staff to make a point like the Shiba dogs in those memes.
She'd probably be a lot more social compared to Teela Na. Wine nights, bi-weekly dance parties. Hey, that's how we can get Songster back in the myths.
Oh that would be hilarious! I think they could work ‘Ole Nick into the story with a flashback or something. But I feel like if that’s the case they should have done it so the second half isn’t trying to do too much. I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith gives her a redemption arc, definitely in his wheelhouse. I just don’t really want it... except for Beastman. Totally deserves redemption.
*Thinks about Game of Thrones ...* *Thinks about MOTU......* Yes there is a place for MOTU in the modern pop culture market as long as it doesn't ignore its foundational strengths and appeal. *Thinks about how Jason Momoa was received in GoT by both male and female audience members in a relatively brief "barbarian" role and what he has gone on to symbolize. * *Thinks about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a bankable action star.* Don't stray from the foundational strengths and MOTU is still QUITE appealing in theory. Know who you're marketing to.
I imagine the things that largely made Game of Thrones a hit are things Mattel would want to avoid in a toy commercial.
Excessive violence? Sex? Rape? Betrayal? Drinking? Incest? A lack of diversity? The Undead? Strong female leads? Strong male leads? Characters with prosthetics/ golden hands used for chopping and defense ( i'm looking at you Jitsu / Jaime Lannister)? Human trafficking? Slavery? Sure. There are a *boatload* of things in Game of Thrones that shouldn't be included in an I.P. that's aimed at children and designed to sell toys at the level they were shown in GoT :| Generally speaking however.....the sword and sorcery theme lives on in GoT ( and a few other shows from the last 6 years) and proves that it still has life. I'm a sci fi fan with regard to literature and visual media but i watched every episode of GoT and enjoyed it ( less so the final season but even that one). MOTU can absolutely appeal to a broader audience while simultaneously serving it's core fandom if that's what the media creators / writers want to do. Perhaps they are looking at statistics and charts that suggest they want to appeal to a "different" audience going forward as they think it will be more lucrative. People will still pay for sword and sorcery. BTW "MOTU Teela / Red Sonja" influence was seen in GoT in the far north for those that haven't seen it (IMO).
