And more! Woman tried to get a pc job with blizzard at job fair and was made fun of and even had some nasty things said to her by them!

She is now a big higher up in gaming! blizzard has not been allowed back there after she reported them!

They said wow was full of awful people. They felt they were "above everyone" do to how big wow was!

Woman were shamed for eating things like bacon sandwichs and were called fat.

People didn't want female family members working there knowing they would get this treatment!

Woman had a "breast feeding room" and men would walk in and watch upsetting the moms!

Men would leave and make the woman finish their work for them the men were getting paid to do!

Woman would be scolded for not getting along with abusive bosses.

Woman with a unborn child needed to go to the hospital. Blizzard did everything to stop her from getting help!

Male head got a woman pregnant then dumped her. When she complained he got promoted!

They had a contest to "make a gay woman strait"

    Promoted drinking on the job!

Told people don't like the job you will be replaced!

Used company money to pay for a "escort" woman.

One of head has told them she hated "fat people" there!

    Awful.

Good lord this. It’s like a house flipping show where each new repair unearths some macabre secret of the previous owners murder history. You just think it can’t get worse and yet it does. It does!

Figuring Blizzard is good and done. The question is are they toxic enough to take down Activision too?

Given Blizzard was/is it’s own entity that was acquired by Activision, I figure they can probably just cut out the cancerous growth and either absorb untainted staff and IPs, or given them generous severance and references and auction off the Blizzard properties.

At this point I think the most likely scenario is Activision sacrificing Blizzard. It ain't salvageable.

If it comes to that, what companies do you suppose will buy off Blizzard IPs?
I could see Valve snapping up Diablo and Overwatch.

No idea. And to be honest at this stage it’s too early to start drawing lines on Blizzard for who’s getting what out of the autopsy.

He's just the sacrificial lamb. Activision's CEO isn't going anywhere unless the whole company goes down or he gets brought up on individual charges and booted out of his own company (given what an utter piece of shit he is and this whole affair, I wouldn't doubt he's done some truly illegal things). And Activision cares only for profits which encourages overlooking this kind of behavior.

Ugh. This is like the text-book example of hubris getting the better of you and good people allowing harm to continue out of fear/apathy. The company allowed these guys to run roughshod over everyone because I bet many men and women who were not harassed/abused might have felt compelled to complain likely also felt like they couldn't pushback on the accepted culture. Why stick your neck out when you see something bad happening if you know the bad actors are protected and elevated?

Here's the thing that some of these folks don't learn-- you will never be on top of the world forever. These guys thought WoW would continue to dominate in sales and popularity but even before this news came out, WoWs best days were already behind them. I can't imagine WoW not losing customers over this. I can't imagine Blizzard no losing customers across the board on other properties. I won't try to estimate how much this would hurt them but this ranks in the top five worst video game industry abuse stories. To say its not a good look is an understatement.

It's such pathetic hubris. I hope everyone complicit in creating this garbage environment is identified because it'll be interesting to see how they try to explain away the terrible behavior that was condoned at the company in their next job interview.

Normally, if it was a large established company effin up themselves this way I'd giggle maniacally because ain't no comedy like a good trainwreck to watch.

Except, women who were subject to this pathology certainly weren't laughing and lots of honest folks (just look at the protesting employees) who weren't partaking in this cluster**** will lose their jobs too.

    Thus I'm not laughing.

Yeah, I had a neighbor with a good family that was working for Blizzard in one of the places I lived in a couple years ago, They seemed legit, so I don't want to imagine what they must be going through right now. Obviously, it's nothing compared to the women victimized there, but any shake up on a growing family's income and the stress that brings is not something I would want to wish on them.

    "Blizzard's been a s**show for a while" is a very apt statement.
