Completely agree. The funny story is that the artist has been a fan of Transformers their whole lives and was finally given the opportunity to produce a cover for the comics. And this was the low quality effort they could muster.

 

Because BotCon made a toy of him that was a CW Skydive repaint near its end.

 

He's been trapped outside the universe since the War of the Threefold Spark and only just found his way back due to Jumpstream's teleportation experiment.

Agreed. Out of curiosity I looked up his twitter. He definently has a niche style that works in some places but definitely does not here. A good amount of his tweets are composed of Lloyd begging for work or being irked for recieving "unsoliceted critiques". I couldn't eye-roll harder.

 

I can only guess but I'd say the colourist was specifically told not to use the original colours and no one knew or cared that Crashers toy also had a white and blue deco. Why specifically pink. I think we'll actually have to ask the colourist. I'm leaning towards their being no reason.

If I had to put on my tin foil hat I'd saw IDW know the RI covers bring in orders so they spend the minimum on one of the covers so that stores have to order larger numbers to actually get the covers people want to buy.

Steve Orlando...meh. He did that lukewarm Justice League of America book for Rebirth and a lot of Batman-tie ins (like Batman/Shadow).
