Hmm..one thing I've noticed that's a little concerning is the fact that there's some kibble on the side of the alt mode that wasn't there in the render. I wonder what happened there.

Makes me a little more worried about the back, hopefully it's not very kibbly. They never showed any pics of the back of the alt mode, right?

oh fuck i only just noticed this comes with rumble (red) and not laserbeak! ffs! i didn't order the tape pack   proper pissed off how did i not notice that

it will be good to see how much cheaper bombusbee is sooner than waiting on perceptor being released which was my first purchase to test the waters  

 

I think its interesting how no one so much as raises a peep about the fact the tapes are an add on you have to buy for a figure that costs more than the Menasor trailer from XTB and yet so much harrumph and upset was levelled at XTB despite the fact that the accessories kit cost less than half what you’re paying for these tapes.

Just food for thought really. I’d be kindof annoyed especially because they’re all pictures together. Seemed a bit misleading to me.

 

Oh no, people did, just most were told to shut up, called haters, or told how it’s somehow amazing to get Soundwave and 1 tape for $250. Being critical of FT isn’t allowed.

 

Perhaps it's less of an argument when Takara did it the same way with their cassettes.

That’s because you’ve missed the whole thing. There were many who raised hell about the price here. It’s fizzled out a bit because of all the back and forth but wait until closer to release date and those concerns will be back.

 

Hahaha! I was going to refer to you in my post but you beat me here. Hopefully no one said those things because at least your objections keep it honest. We may not agree all the time but I respect your criticism.

 

I got the Takara/Hasbro version which came with all the tapes, and I don’t think it cost 350 USD to get both Soundwave and his tapes? I can’t recall honestly.

 

That would be the Hasbro TRU one. Mass production made those figures cheaper. If you picked up the Takara MP-13 that came with just Laserbeak, it would’ve run you around $200+. The same can be seen with the Hasbro TRU MP-11 mold vs. the Takara releases.

That is the problem comparing Hasbro MP to 3rd party. I believe the volume/resources makes a dramatic difference in price but of course this is all conjecture.

 

Hasbro needs to strike a deal with FT. Better still, Hasbro should buy FT to piss off Takara.

 

I don’t know, we have rumors that they have some backroom deal but they say it increased the price.

My sources told me that Takara paid FT not to release the final combiner figures until they upsize their Combiner Wars figures to Titan Class to save face with their loyalists.

 

If there was a back room deal, cliff jumper wouldn’t be getting made right along side the official release. They got surprised with that one and it’s honestly pretty funny.

 

That’s because you’re trying to think about it logically. Rumors just have to sound exciting or rationalize something preposterous.

Hasbro higher-ups told me that MP Nightbird was made using the Arcee mold because a post-credit scene in Kingdom retconned the G1 cartoon where she became a Transformer due to the Allspark. Now it’s toon-accurate. But you cannot view that scene unless you have Netflix Platinum Premium Plus.

Why did Habro stop making regular MP, anyway?

 

Most likely Takara not liking them being so cheap and going on sale. Probably wanted to have full control over the line so that they can charge more.

 

All in all I’m not necessarily concerned about the pricing disparity but more so the hypocrisy of what is decried as “deceptive business practices” when it’s really just more of this brand tribalism on display.
