I'm still in completist mode until the end of the year, but... yeah. This is reason #120 of why I'm getting out of collecting come 2022.

Is this why collectibles aren’t being stocked in stores (Target, Walmart, and etc) and their online warehouses as much as they use to be before the pandemic?

No, that's because people are buying stuff faster than you can get to the store.

Seriously. I was blown away but the plethora of great collectibles on store shelves during the Covid lockdown when non-essential sales were banned. I assumed we just didn’t ever get new stock, but the reality is that thousands of units are moved without me ever seeing them.

Well, it's a mix of both. Less stock is making it to the store, at a slower and more sporadic pace. It's also being snatched up immediately.

Part of the issue is that there is increased demand on all consumer goods, but the supply chain can't even supply the base pre-COVID demand.

I was just in Palmdale, CA - about 50 miles North of Los Angeles. In two different Targets, one had it for $22.99 and the other for $19.89. Quite surprised by that 2nd one, but that’s how it rang up.

This little figure is great - I love it - but wow is it waaaaaaaay overpriced. Scout size at best.

Comic books is the same way. I gave up on comics when they hit $2.50 an issue.

Guess I'll continue to stock up on gundam kits. It's a shortage now doubt it's going to be better in a few months.
