I always like the idea of the Universe Nemesis Prime. A dead body of a very morally compromised Optimus cloned and tortured for for so many eons into becoming Nemesis Prime that he preferred his new painful tortures existence to that of the barren void of nothing.

Although above all, I'd prefer if Nemesis was a different character from the main story's Optimus, and an actual character with motives goals and even story arcs. Like Scourge or Universe Nemesis Prime.

My version of Nemesis Prime is the kind of lame name given to SG Optimus because our Autobots thought it was awkward calling him Optimus.

I like that nearly every version of Nemmy has a different origin. Allows new writers to come in and get creative with him. So I don’t think there should be any one definitive version.

But as for my favorite Nemesis Prime? I think RID Scourge is still the one.

I personally prefer my take on Nemesis Prime

I draw on several sources, Universe, RiD, and even DC Comics. My Nemesis is a clone of the original Optimus but where Universe made him a tortured soul, I made him into an unstoppable juggernaut like he was in Armada think DC Doomsday but he is not mindless. He is strategic military genius much like Scourge, but Nemesis is not arrogant of his abilities due to the repeated cloning process that was used in his creation but don't let that fool you he is extremely aggressive and ruthless

I make him sound like he should be unbeatable but no one is without their flaws as my version of Nemesis has a strong sense of honor much like Dinobot and that can be used against him depending on his opponent.

As for his alignment he starts out aligned with Unicron but after some time and Unicron's defeat he strikes out on his own being to dark for the Autobots and to good for the Decepticons but both sides would love to persuade him join them

I kinda like that the story slightly changes each time. Armada's was a monster made in his image as sorta mockery by Unicron. Universe was a tortured clone from another dimension, Kingdom is that universes prime tortured over years etc etc.

One thing I don't like however is them giving him a decepticon logo. He's kinda just a force of nature to me.

I'm rather torn on counting Black Convoy/ Scourge. He's very much his own character (well till he's not but that's not his fault) But he does follow a lot of the rules. I tend to just think of him as a Nemesis Prime that's gone through a self actualisation arc. He no longer defines himself as a mirror to another character, he's very much his own distinct person. I think having a unique design helps that too and I think that's also what makes universe so interesting since the Big Convoy design is so freaking metal when in bone white and black.

Something like this would be cool.

If he were to be an actual character, I could see things like evil clones, or alternate universe doppelgangers, but personally I'd like to see him as his own character. Maybe an alternate name for The Fallen, because it'd be nice to be able to call him something other than "The Fallen" - and Nemesis is a cooler name than Megatronus.

Or what if Nemesis was the 13th Prime who was corrupted by Unicron and became the "nemesis" of all Primes.

I've always felt like an 'Evil' Optimus Prime should be written around the line 'til all are one'. But, it should be taken quite literally. His goal should be to steal the matrix, and unite all within the matrix. And, his goal should be justified, not necessarily to us the audience, but to himself. He should be thinking he is doing the right thing. I was thinking something around the lines of, to end the destructive conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons. To bring peace to Cybertron, he will unite all their sparks within the matrix.

I always felt like the entire character should be written around this single goal, to create peace on Cybertron. But, his method is to wipe out the Transformers as a whole. He should be against both the Autobots, and the Decepticons. He should have his own army of devoted followers. Maybe, like a cult.

To me, nemesis prime could be an interesting concept. He often isn't, but he could be.
Megatron, motormaster, and grimlock are often used to explore facets of prime's character. His boundaries, his leadership skills, his compassion, and all of these comparisons are in his favor. He's not megatron because he holds life sacred, nor motormaster for his love of his team, nor grimlock for his respect of other lifeforms. However, nemesis prime could be used to explore what prime is/ could be. Is he a pawn of forces greater than him? Does he sit at the apex at the countless fallen he's responsible for? Is it still selfless to sacrifice to closest to you, when you would gladly sacrifice yourself?
You could use nemesis prime as a separate character to explore all of these. He hasn't, but he could.

Anything else is like asking is Skywarp or Thundercracker a Starsceam evil clone, a Starscream doppelgänger, or Starscream gone good?
