I did Beidou’s little tournament thingy today, and then after that grind ascension materials for Rosaria and Noelle. I didn’t really that this whole time my Noelle was barely one star, so I finally leveled her up to 2 stars. I only really need to fight one boss twice in order to level her up. Only thing stopping me is that her and Rosaria both need the valberries, and I picked half the mountains just to have enough for one ascension each. Boss fights were pretty fun tho.

 

Also track down Chloris, she's a child NPC you can find running between the path if you teleport to the Thousand Winds temple and follow the path down towards the big Windrise tree. She'll sell you ten valberies on a weekly reset.

 

Bit annoyed right now. I've been keeping track of which electroculus I've collected since Inazuma launched using one of the interactive maps. However, I got the "last" one today only to find I've apparently missed one (from what I can find, I should have 20; I have 19). I'm not sure which one, and since the relevant compass thing isn't available until reputation level 8 (a good few weeks away) I have to go back and check for each and every one again. I'm currently about a third of the way through that process.

My biggest worry is one in particular. I seemingly got it when a cutscene/auto-warp for a quest triggered. I went back and checked that one already, but it's not there. Hopefully it registered properly, but I'm worried it might have bugged out.

 

I've got an irritation to air too. Just finished an Azhdaha with randos and I went in with my 90 Eula. well there was another 90 Eula and in general I always show off my WGS to show that I've got her pretty well built. Well, there was another Eula whom I find out isn't nearly as well built and they refused to cede Eula to me so...whatever. I go Ganyu. The party was Benett, Mona, Eula and me as Ganyu. Well, Bennett dies before the first elemental phase and shortly after that in the 2nd elemental phase Eula dies too. Mona and I last until the 3rd elemental phase when she dies. Well, fuck, because the last elemental phase we were in was Cryo, so now my Ganyu damage went from 30K(Charged Arrow plus Frostflake), to barely 16k damage. So that last little chunk of life was a pain. Luckily I know how to play keepaway with Ganyu and I didn't even take a single point of damage that match.

Carried the fuck out of this team.

But damn it randos. I've built my Eula to do massive damage. I can easily break that 100k damage mark with her ult and I can get about two ults per Azhdaha fight if the energy flow is good due to me having big ER stat for her. Not only did this Eula die early but they didn't even pop a single ult. Their Eula was significantly under 2k ATK and their crit stats sucked.

The worst part? They have a super twinked out Diluc! It's like WTF. You SHOULD'VE brought your Diluc. Then we would've had the Pyro Resonance with that Bennett and would've been in damage-city! Like, the premise was there. Diluc vapes with Mona. Bennett steroid on the team, Mona damage multiplication, and big Eula damage. It was a no brainer. But NOOOO. That person had to pull the Eula slot and take away a potentially super fast Azhdaha clear.

Fuckin' rando co-op life.

 

Welp. I've gone through every single electroculus location again. No sign of the missing one. Either I've somehow overlooked it twice (and though I got it the first time), or my game is bugged.

BIG DUMB EDIT: Good news! My brain is stupid! I had actually given the one "missing" electroculus to the Statue of the Seven without realizing it. So I spent quite a long time retracing my steps for no reason. Yay!

Just finished Ayaka's story quest and she's...really loveable and cool. A shame I don't actually want her though. Maybe when her re-run banner comes around.

Completed my 2nd ascension trial. Still grinding Rosaria’s ascension materials. The sigils are proving to be the most difficult thing to collect so much of.

 

Everyone, when you complete the Sakura Cleansing Ritual, if you want to keep the gift that Kazami leaves you, DO NOT HIT THE USE BUTTON WHEN VIEWING IN YOUR INVENTORY. This WILL consume it to make the Hakushin Ring which reportedly is a rather pointless and terrible weapon. To me, it's not worth it for what the gift represents and absolutely would have preferred to make this a teapot house ornament like what you get in the Ayaka quest. Or at the very least a permanent inventory item like all the crap we get from the Archon quests... such as the literal debris from the Liyue chapter that doesn't have anything to do with what actually went down during that whole affair.

Talking with Xavier about the unstable furnace thing is an absolute hoot, but pay attention to just how much red tape and Dilbert-style meeting making is being referenced just in the first time you talk to the guy.

Fontaine is going to be buried in pointless rules and regulations and nothing is going to get done. Yanfei, be our saviour, our guiding moonlight.

Seems almost fitting that hers is only a day after Klee's. It's like for her birthday, Klee was gifted someone to help her through her legal troubles (and hoo boy, are there bound to be plenty of those in her future) for the entirety of her long-lifed existence.

I just want to say I'm glad to be done with Tatara Tales, and that I hated the last part.

Get too close to the defense point (which is made of wet paper), and the enemies will hit it even if they weren't targeting it. Get too far, and your health will get drained by environmental damage. And there really didn't seem like there was a very good sweet spot, distance-wise. Definitely was not a fun fight for me. I had less trouble fighting Azhdaha and the most recent story boss than beating this thing, frankly.

 

After some difficulty and having to shift out of my typical 'utility beats all' mentality where each slot is filled with a different weapon type (normally Claymore, sword, catalyst, bow), the one quest where you have to fight the Nameless Samurai four times kicked my ass in the last match (spoiler: he might be the first enemy in the game that has TWO healthbars and doesn't involve a form change), I ended up switching back to my Razor/Xingqiu/Sucrose/Diona lineup because the damage output from Raincutter boosted Lightning Fang on a superconducted enemy just carves through enemies like a hot knife through butter.

My only problem with this team comp is those fucking wood shield mitachurls. Like, more than the Primosaps (including that bastard Azdahaha), wood shields are just so broken in this game to the point they're literally harder than the mitachurls hauling around literal rock shields. They are the sole reason I feel obligated to include a pyro to burn that shield away as fast as possible, because trying to bait the bastards into attacking absolutely murders my combat pacing.

 

Having now completed the Archon and Story quests for this leg of Inazuma...I just wanna say that Mihoyo really goddamn knocks it out of the park with the cutscenes.

 

So, if you find the guy who is in the cage (the small group of islands at the northern most point of Inazuma), he straight up tells you where to get the key to free him.

Don't get it.

Instead, immediately after he's done talking, talk to him again. It's hysterical what happens and I wish it was voiced.
