Ok, let's first say that I'm not inline with other comments here stating "I'm not paying so much for a figure so small". I'm not buying ham at grocery and I'm not judging the price for the size or weight.

Second, I'm not making comparison with metal build, I consider to compare apples with apples.

So I would say that a fair comparison could be ft stuff with tfc one.
And I should admit that luminent in terms of metal structure and solidity is at same level of ft one. Plus I would add nicer transformation. Minus, lumitent's hands where a bit ridiculous in 2021.

Said that, new ft stuff still do not arrive at 200usd (yet). And we all know that their models are quite overpriced due to ft-mania, shortages (induced, planned or whatever), and people's craziness.

So the main point is: even if you consider ip rights, this stuff is still really overpriced.
At time of coronavirus I would accept 170usd for lumitent, but not even one penny more for their second figure.

I say let's wait and see why he cost that much. But I am pretty sure it's not "overpriced" due to stupid reasons, but rather valid ones.

The concept of something being ‘overpriced’ is so subjective - it’s down to the individual consumer to weigh up how much they value something, relative to the price tag.

I think it’s pointless arguing with people on this matter, because everyone has their own threshold. You might as well argue that green is a better colour than blue.

These figures feel like they’re worth exactly $90. They’re solid but they’re not large or impressive enough to warrant the $130 price tag

I disagree, it comes with a good amount of accessories, it's licenced, it has a good looking alt-mode (it's almost perfect) and a cool robot mode.

Weird-lookin' bot with a ton of sideboob. I'm gonna guess this is one of those Bayverse movie bots?

Having had a quick Google, it looks like the real life Z-10s are usually black, but there are a few pictures of brown camo ones as well. It’d be cool if a camo repaint was on the cards…

This is TFCs line of licensed chinese military vehicles with gundam-like bot modes. The characters were created by TFC and have a small amount of lore in the form of included comics.

I like my first SciFigure bot okay but IDK if I'm in on the line.

You know, I love the first jet robot this company did, the J-20. One of the best jet robots I've ever handled.

It's going to hurt paying the prices this helicopter figure is apparently going to sell for, but *shrug* it's my money and I think it's worth it.

The helicopter comes with a lot of weapons, which adds a lot of play value (in my opinion). Including a stand that can store the weapons adds even more value. I'm hoping these figures can exchange their weapons with each other. The J-20 has two hardpoints for weapons on its wings, even though it only has one weapon (the rifle), which mounts...very loosely. If this line of figures can use each other's weapons, that would be really awesome.

Oh, and I dislike the head of the helicopter figure. I can live with it, but I dislike it. It looks like TFC started with a 1:1 copy of the head from First Edition Optimus Prime from TF: Prime, then shortened the crest and removed the ears and antenna.

I know a lot of people disliked the head from the J-20 robot, but I liked it! No, I'm not saying it's the world's most interesting head sculpt. Yes, the J-20 robot's head was rather generic. Nevertheless, I thought the head looked very appropriate for the figure, and it didn't seem to be based on anything that I recognized. At the very least, I appreciated the attempt to create a new head sculpt for the J-20.

I would like to see this figure with Arcee inspired colours. Nice white helicopter.

The J20 is expensive for sure. But the quality is exceptional. Bandai DX Chogokin Valkyries are the only other transforming bots I know of that can match this level of robustness with such small, precision parts.

Agreed. I got Lumitent for $160 thankfully, which is absolutely worth it to me. $200 might’ve been pushing it; $240 seems reasonable(ish) for this one if it’s made with the same quality and is larger
