I mean, that's the thing. Tigatron's in this show because he was in the old one, and he was there because Mainframe didn't want to have to create an entirely new character model (and beast model and transformation animation). Yet Mainframe were absolute madlads who went and heavily modified the dead-basic pallet swaps so it didn't feel like such a cheat (and of course the writing and acting would take it even further, to the point I suspect Zeke1's reaction is actually quite common.)
So some 20 years later and with CGI becoming the standard now, it's kinda insane that they just painted a cheetah white and considered that a good enough tiger. Like, I dunno. Tigatron's such an inconsequential character in this, and Kingdom itself is a short series you rush thru in a day, it doesn't matter all that much. But it's one of so many things that make modern Transformers feel 'cheap.'

What they did to BW megatron was heinous, I would have accepted any of the flaws of the show if they at least wrote him as himself/an ambitious backstabber instead of Scorponok from the old show which begs the question, how did this even happen in the first place? I think this may apply to Primal as well, and Dinobot and Tigatron.

That's what happens when people with no knowledge or passion for the franchise do a google search and find one aspect of the character and think "yeah this is the entire character right?"

That or they actually have genuine contempt for Beast wars. Hard to say.

This continued talk about BW makes me think even more about the rumour on how BW was a late addition to the toy line, and how the last chapter was going to be a time travelling 86 cast, Springer Blurr Scourge Cyclonus Rodimus Galvatron etc, only for the sudden inclusion to BW and the shifting of half of the cast to the new SS86 (which is why they and WFC got so well together) caused the writers to have to change around to BW instead.

Like imagine BW Megatron but as Cyclonus or Scourge, or Primal as Hot Rod/Rodimus, and Cheetor with his wanting to race as Blurr.

The voices a terrible. They don't even try to imitate the originals. Rattrap was the only passable beast voice.

Well, either I walked in more or less prepared or I've built up some kind of tolerance, but I didn't hate this nearly as much as I hated Earthrise.

Just finished Kingdom and I wish Siege and Earthrise had been like this.
I found it alot more fun. It seemed faster pace with lots of action and even a little bit of humour.
I have never really been a big fan of Beast Wars / Beast Machines and this was my favourite take on the characters.
Unpopular opinion no doubt, but i actually liked Beast Megatron's voice.
When Ravage was ejected to fight Cheetor and Tigertron was my favourite part.
The story made more sense than Earthrise and i found myself caring about the characters at last.

Y'all can call me a weeb if you want, but I watched the Japanese dub of Kingdom and really enjoyed it significantly more than the previous series. If nothing else, the vocals are no where near as slow as the English version. They got a bunch of returning BW actors back, although it's a bit of a funny experience because that was such a gag dub. Beast Megatron being a total simp for G1 Megs works really good with the Japanese actor's more goofy delivery. In fact, the character as written in Kingdom feels much more natural with this voice than if Kaye had come back and done his original BW voice. (that said, I definitely think Kaye has the talent to have invented a new variant that'd suit this new version of the character).

That may just say more about how TF reuses character types.

    Kingdom wasn't too bad.

The only thing I really didn't like was Optimus's abysmally slow speech.

In the next series no Allspark, please.

Beast Wars Megatron... character and voice in Kingdom is the worst.

I got the impression he was a feeble minded pud.

Am I crazy, or maybe I need to re-watch it again?

No, they definitely tamed the beast. He’s pretty much just a starry-eyed G1 Megatron fanboy.

Tigatron is so insignificant in Kingdom that it really doesn’t matter. He has a token cameo appearance, nothing more.

Finished Kingdom, best part of the three but still lacking. Overall I didn’t hate the beast voices except for Beast Megatron. The female voice actors throughout the whole series were perfectly fine.

Show needed more Dinobot. Beast Megatron was terribly adapted. Felt nothing like the original. Huge disservice to the character. Everyone else felt okay.

Going back on Cybertron damn that got dark like maybe one of the darkest moments in transformers just seeing Elita 1 dead body. Showing how much Optimus screwed over Cybertron. Wish we would have gotten a complete Cybertron arc but the surprise dark return was interesting.

Also this series has probably the worst Optimus Prime like ever. Movie Prime might be a murdering psychopath at the end but he wasn’t dumb.

Energon Prime is better than Netflix Prime. I’m hard-pressed to think of an Optimus that compromised the Autobots as much as this one.
Yelling, “Tell me you forgive me,” to his greatest enemy was his defining moment more than anything in this entire trilogy.

Yeah, because it wasn't the second. It was probably within the first ten, but CGI shows had been around for at least 5 or 6 years before BW debuted.

No it was the second with reboot being the first.

There was shows that used CG, but Reboot and Beast Wars were the first fully 100% CGI shows.

Think of it like Toy Story and CGI movies.

Interesting to see all the Beast Wars fans absolutely LOSING THEIR MINDS over the voices not being 100% identical to their childhood favorites.

I'm sorry, are we not doing "Things change, get over it geewunner!" anymore? Turns out either having some respect for the source material, or not just reusing a name on a completely different character, has some validity to it, eh?
