Will the OG Beast Wars cast ever have a chance to reprise their roles again?

It feels like whenever a Beast Wars character appears for a new cartoon, most likely they are gonna be voiced by someone else other then their original voice actor from the 90s cartoon.

Since the 2007 movie, we had veteran voice actors from the sunbow cartoon return to voice characters they haven’t done so in decades. Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Corey Burton, Susan Blu, John Moschitta, Greg Berger, Judd Nelson, Dan Gilvasen, and Michael Bell all have returned to voice their G1 characters for new cartoons, video games, and in movies. Yet not one of the old Beast Wars cast have returned to do their roles in a official capacity. When Primal was brought in for power of the primes he was voiced by Ron Perlman instead of Garry Chalk, and while I love Ron’s voice work in general, I would’ve preferred to hear Garry’s voice as Primal as he made the character feel like a lovable but grouchy uncle.

Then we know Garry won’t be back as Primal again for ROTB. WFC was also a huge missed opportunity to get anyone back on board due to the cheapness of Hasbro and Rooster Teeth to use non union actors. I understand it is difficult to get voice actors based out of Canada due to a Canadian law requiring any production to use Canadian actors. But David Kaye is based in california, Ian James Cornett, the voice of Cheetor has done work in LA on occasion. Heck even Scott McNeil did work for Funimation one time in Full Metal Alchemist.

Am I asking for all every cast member to return? (Well it would be awesome). But I would be fine if we gotten 1 actor back, like David Kaye, to reprise their roles. If G1 actors can come back, I would like to see the BW cast return as well.

I think David Kaye probably has the best chance of coming back because he's in LA. After all, he was in Animated, Prime, and Robots in Disguise 2015, all of which were recorded in LA with union VAs. I think that if we do see Beast Wars Megatron again in a production using union VAs, then there's a pretty good chance that David Kaye reprises the role.

I know that some shows have been recorded in both Vancouver and LA (I'm pretty sure that Dragon Prince was recorded like this for example) which is probably the best chance we have of getting all or most of the original BW VAs to reprise. I really want to see Garry Chalk play Optimus Primal/Prime again in some official capacity again.

Same here. I hate the fact that he keeps getting replaced.

I’ve been dreaming of this for so long. I hope it comes true.

Only if Hasbro actually starts injecting money into its Transformers shows again. And even then it'll probably only be David Kaye, since everyone else is still in Canada. I think Ian James Corlett might be in the US now too, but I might be wrong.

He said during an interview he occasionally visits LA since he owns a house and I know he has voiced acted in several American cartoons.

I’d be cool with a videogame ala’ WFC & FOC, with the entire cast present & a new story set during the events of the show. Maybe even recreate battles from specific episodes. But that might be one way to pull it off. A single videogame would be more feasible than an entire show with accompanying toyline.

A new beast wars video game with the old cast would be sick as hell!

The Season 1 cast is still around, so assuming the rest of them are as interested as Garry and David it should be entirely feasible. Hell, I'm pretty sure Scott McNeil could voice the entire cast himself. Including Blackarachnia. The man's range is insane.

If Rampage ever made a reappearance however he would necessarily need to be recast, as Campbell Lane is sadly no longer with us.

Well the most likely way for that to happen, is if a new Beast Wars animated series got commissioned, but according to my recent thread (would you like to see a new Beast Wars Animated series?) everybody seems to be dead against that idea. lol.

Prob because most wouldn’t think a new series could be as good as the old one, but I’ll be down for a new show if done right.

I think these are the reasons we won't see them anytime soon.
    • Their a Canadian cast, and Hasbro seems to have ditched them altogether in favor of a New York or L.A. voice cast. So they may be more difficult to get.
    • Companies would rather hire celebrities, rather than veteran voice actors to play their characters. It's a sad fact, but a big name like Ron Perlman will get more butts in seats.
    • Communication might be difficult, so having every voice actor in one area would be easier. This is why most voice acting productions are done in one location.
    But these are my guesses
