Someone on the mlparena said that the tails could be replaced for proper nylon, although she warned that it was a pain to do because of the way G5s are made.

 

I still haven't seen anything regarding G5 at my local stores yet, but in the meantime I managed to get EQG Minis of Pinkie(Pep Rally), Fluttershy(Fall Formal), and Trixie(Beach). Finally completed all the Mane 7. If I can get Sci-Twi and Vinyl Scratch I'll be relatively satisfied with my collection(though I'd be better if I can get Celestia lol)

 

Yeah, the playset exclusive minis are a pain to get. Celestia only came in the 'Lessons and Laughs' set so good luck with that one.

 

Yeah. I remember the only way to get Starlight and the Second Sunset outfit was through the movie six pack, I was lucky to find them separately

 

Indeed, I passed on that set in favor of getting Juniper Montage's set. Naturally, the only characters I'm really missing are Starlight and Chestnut Magnifico/Darring Do as I'm not too bothered by missing variants.

 

Still no luck on G5. But I got my first Natural Series figure

You can get them at BBTS and Entertainment Earth, though they're blind boxes so they're random(with Celestia I believe being the rarest of the bunch)
