Damn, this Blitzway Voltron is just…just… . $700 is hella high, but this thing is a masterpiece. I wonder if they’ll do Vehicle Voltron too?
I finally got my tracking notice from Luna Park 3 days ago, but seems like they like to hold on to my item at their store instead of handing it off to DHL, anyone else waiting for it it ship from them?
Speaking of Vehicle Voltron, BBTS seems to have a ton of the SOC in stock: Armored Fleet Dairugger XV Soul of Chogokin GX-88 Dairugger XV
I am still surprised that one has remained available for this long. I was honestly more stoked about the prospect of getting a Vehicle Voltron than a Lion Voltron.
In shops Mar 30, 2022, available for Pullbox pre-order: VOLTRON 5PRO CARBOTIX SER VOLTRON AF (JUN219439)
I know the pullbox is used for ordering items through local comic bookstores but is there an advantage to it? Do local comic bookstores tend to offer items at a lower price if ordered through them?
Well Vehicle Voltron isn't anywhere near as popular in the West as Lion, and is probably completely forgotten in Japan. Also, just going by the reviews, while the toy looks great in robot mode, there are way too many janky combination tricks for me to feel comfortable handling it and the individual vehicles don't look great on display so you won't have many people buying a second set for that. Still though, I'd expect Blitzway to release one if their Lion Voltron sells well, because people who bought the first one will want to have an in-scale Vehicle Voltron to display next to it, and at this price the target market is going to be small anyway so there's less of a concern about it not having much mass recognition or appeal. Plus if this one lives up to expectations, they'd be silly not to milk that captive audience for all its worth.
I wonder if it's possible to stand the fully combined Voltron on the stand with the Lions also there. It kind of looks like his legs will fit between the lion holding stands.. so the black lion stand between his legs and his feet between yellow and blue stands.. thinking I want Voltron In Front with lions jumping away behind him.. though the anal ports might make it look funny lol.. maybe lions in front is better.. Thinking more on it.. maybe just having stands back to back is best..
Well, got my PO in at TCP. At least I can say the points are practically a 25 dollar gift certificate on their own, and I can pay into it at my own pace once the initial deposit is made.
I'd rather have one of the other Lion Voltron renditions than get Vehicle, that's one I'm fully satisfied with having the SoC and don't need another of
I used to not like Vehicle Voltron. I remember coming home one day from school in 1984 expecting another episode of Lion Voltron, only to see this…”new” Voltron made up of cars and shit. I was like, “This ain’t Voltron! What happened to the lions?” I was pissed. It’s only been in recent years that I’ve come to appreciate Vehicle Voltron. If—IF—I get this Blitzway Voltron, I’d for sure get Vehicle Voltron if they made him.
I have (and love) the SOC Vehicle Voltron, but will admit to still being super biased against him. I think the Transformers combiners ruined him for me. The vehicles can’t turn into their own tiny robots before turning into a giant robot?! Get the hell out of here, Vehicle Voltron. Even the GoBots had that shit figured out!
What are the chances a year or so from now this will go on sell like the EX bc companies had inventories bc they didn't sell as much do to price?
Ordered through awesome collector. Am I the only one most excited to display this as individual flying lions? That’s the best and most unique thing about the set.
Agreed. Between the price, the deposit requirements at most retailers, and the preorder shutoff date, would not be surprised if it’s being made-to-order. That’s pure inference, but I’m trying to read between the lines. Cannot imagine most retailers are going to roll the dice and have much excess stock of something this spendy sitting around taking up space. And while it’s always possible that it’ll suck, I’ve been rabbit-holing 5Pro reviews, and it seems unlikely. The Astro Boy DX set they did with Blitzway is absolutely gorgeous, and all their stuff seems to be constructed and painted to extremely high standards. Could just be confirmation bias, but I have yet to watch a review of one of their mecha where the reviewer seemed disappointed or underwhelmed.
Interesting information.. bluefin says you can only order blitzway Voltron up until August 5th here's a photo.
