Found one in store yesterday. So excited. Was gonna order BA He-Man and Skeleton but now just ordered Skelly. You see I never had a regular He-Man or Skeletor as a kid. My pair were the Battle Armor and the Flying Fists/Terror Claws versions. Come to think of it I didn't have any of the figures that didn't have some kind of gimmick to them. Buy yeah really excited to connect to modern versions of my personal He-Man and Skeletor. I hope the Flying Fists and Terror Claws comes sooner rather than later.
Happy to see you get one in store! I had a similar experience with MotU as a kid. I was born in the 80s so I was a bit young for the early MotU toys. By the time I was old enough for them, only the more colorful ones were on the store pegs and in bins on clearance in the late 80s My childhood He-Man toy was a second hand Thunder Punch, incomplete. It was great!
New product shots of the Palace Guard. Looks like they didn’t cheap out like in that render. Actual reversed pieces instead of just throwing the Classics pieces with bigger armour bits on them. Someone needs to inform the photog of how MAA’s armour is supposed to go but it’s an interesting take. The young Duncan head looks to just be the same piece without the face guard instead of giving us the standard head design. Looks good though. Which one will be your Lt Spector?
More progress on my Origins scale Skeleton. Also going to do a smaller build for a more standard Skeleton figure. Planning on doing less articulation than Origins for the sake of budgetary constraints, but more articulation than 5 POA style.
Toy Guru did another video about how Mattel is going to lose the He-Man property in 2023? I just can’t see how ALL rights got sold? Maybe the Filmation cartoon and new media merch rights? I just can’t see how all the work they did pre-Filmation would have been sold along with it? It was one of their all-time most profitable franchises.
Ladies and gentlemen, hell has officially frozen over because Walmart had new stuff! Some BA He-Mans and Skeletors, the Fisto wave, and even a couple of Windraiders! I wasn't sure I wanted one but I ended up buying Faker just to celebrate.
It’s $18 now at the same place I found it for $50. I need to find my receipt. Will they price match? I mean I’ll return it and immediately rebuy it.
He’s still on about this… I dunno didn’t he say it was set to expire next year a while back? He’s no longer with Mattel so maybe things changed.
He was originally saying 2022... and I'd be willing to wager that he'll change it again to 2024 next year or some shit. If I've learned one thing when it comes to dealing with him is that he's full of half-truths.
Just got the Rise of Evil set, and wow, it's so much fun. Especially Keldor/Skeletor. Obviously I don't have Randor, but I couldn't wait to do this: "It ends here, Keldor." "It would appear so....." "But appearances can be deceiving!" "MY FACE!" This is easily the best Skeletor headsculpt in Origins, very Alcala It also really reminds me of Skeletor in that early animated commercial for MOTU "Defeat He-Man's forces, but leave him to me.."
