Black Arachnia's transformation is the nastiest load of shit since, er, Kingdom.

 

I achieved that most rare of things last night......(insert smutty joke here)......I started and finished a project I only picked up yesterday!

Along with the OS/MP Devy I got yesterday (still on the desk at work, seems perfect actually apart from some cosmetic damage on the side of the digger), I got, basically free, a - what I was told was a direct KO CW Volcanius. It was not.

It is the OS one, which is nice as I think the OS figures fit really well in with the CHUG class, so I set to fixing the limbs on him, the locking mechanism on two of them was so tight both combiner pieces had broken off, and one was repaired with glue, one not.

I noticed that the tops of the combiner ‘male’ joints were hugely proud of the fitting (picture is just as I started cutting them down), whereas the other two were flat and flush. So I cut and sanded them down so they were flat too, and through healthy paranoia, I also rounded off the top edges, hopefully to make putting them in and out (shake it all aboot...) easier as well.

I also shaved the lip of the springy port covers down too as they didn’t seem to clear the fitting at all, and put a longer screw into the broken one, to reconnect with the nubbin on the actual figure it had broken off of.

Seems to work, the legs slide off and on ok, without resorting to a smooth teaspoon handle which was the only way I could jimmy them out when I got it, you could accuse them of being a bit loose, but I, and he, can live with that.....

.....now the question is, as he cost very little, do I make minor changes to attach some kind of self-made armour.....hmmmm.....

The other 400 projects I had before I added these 2 yesterday you ask?

They must have just dropped those, I was looking the other day and some of those weren't up (some were). But seeing ss86 Jazz having been finally restocked (they weren't the other day so cheers for the heads up about their update), I grabbed a cheeky set with robopoints making it free shipping. I'd have gone for more, but trying to be good, and Jazz is the only one in desperate need, so FOMO.

That makes him look infinitely better!

Wow, neat! My G2 RiseMegs is with my Beast Wars II guys, being Megastorm, but if he wasn't then I'd be after this kit now for sure.   

Lovely stuff, always makes me smile to see G2 decos released or otherwise.

Also Rodders is on the way from Kingdom Collectables. Headed to the beach this weekend, if Rodney arrives tomorrow the while 86 lot are coming for a photoshoot!

Payday today so after paying people I owed money to and paying for my bargain Quietus I went on a wee preordering spree that was heavily curtailed when I went to preorder the 3P Hellboy mech from Oh My Primus and found that post-Brexit their UK postage now seems to be a flat £100!!!!!

Checked it with a few different items and it didn’t change. I’ve queried it and I hope it’s an error as I used to like using OMP  

In better news FP have been given higher staffing levels, so during August I’ll be working Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Lord knows we need the money.

BTW, I’ve seen a couple of EU stores with the Worlds Collide set in stock for about €130, BUT, official release day is August 1st so I have a strong suspicion we’ll be seeing it for nearer £70-80 from the likes of IDT etc later in the month, so don’t leap on it straight away!

 

So my Rody arrived yesterday and I've been messing around with him and while I love him, getting the back wheels out is a real pain and I do already have these stress marks apart from that Im loving him.

 

Picked up these cheeky little gits on a whim today. They definitely look like they're pals, even though one's a tough old workhorse and the other appears to turn into some sort of rollerskate. I love the great big kibble crest on Breakdown, but his tiny little forearms could have done with a bit of work. Stronarm is an absolute delight to fiddle with, and his alt mode is cute as a button. How did this guy not get a Hound redeco? Anyway, look at him with his daft little Energon axe, the maniac.

Going to need new names for them though. Strongarm's a girl and Breakdown is a Decepticon. Hm...

Buzzworthy Bumblebee Worlds Collide Nemesis Primal mini review...



Straight off, amazing colours (my flash is overstating it though!). And he's got real presence. Which is handy if you're going with the shoulder pads look. "Do you wanna be in my ga..." Certainly not.



The gun options are sweet.





The only downsides for me in bot mode is the two shades of purple on the chest piece and surrounding area (not especially noticeable in handling though) and the chest piece itself, which just kinda floats between two positions, neither especially satisfying.

Decent as bot mode is, for me it's the alt he'll be staying in.



So yes, the legs are shite. No getting away from that. Dude can't even walk. But by fuck that purple and red help make up for it.



From the back or side he's a shitshow, no doubt about it. But even then it's a great silhouette.



And this is how he'll be staying. Because giant ape.



For me it's a case of aesthetics winning out with Ruprecht Monkey Boy, I mean I think Optimus Primal looks pretty awful. But slap some extra Con colours on him and black is back. This is the first BW figure I ever wanted to own! I'm a visuals tart!

 

Did a cheeky ducking into Game on the way in to work, as stock indicator said "Thar Be Micromasters" but it turned out to be Rumble/Ratbat and the Battle Squad only, no Race Cars as I was hoping for for...reasons.
The Game fella said keep an eye out as they're expecting more stock but, well, he would wouldn't he?

 

All the Team GB members that keep appearing on TV showing off their medals is starting to remind me of when Trigger got a medal in "Only Fools & Horses".

Only difference being there's a lot of cringey cliches being thrown around and no hilarious stories about having the same broom for years

Which I initially thought was just a part of his pro wrestling gimmick, but I did some research and discovered he actually did it.

Very nice. I love the new lambo mode for Red here. The black hinges on the sides of the car are still a bit of an eyesore, but it's nothing I'm not used to at this point. Only bad thing about him is the tiniest of scratches on his chest/bonnet, but it's not too noticeable so I'm not going to kick up a fuss about it or anything.

 

So I'm on episode 3 of kingdom. Much to my surprise, I'm rather enjoying it! God bless low expectations.
