This is coming from the world's easiest to please Transformers fan so take it with a grain of salt, but I thought it was pretty good. There's some stuff that doesn't makes sense and some of the voice acting is iffy, but I liked a lot the concepts they used and most of it is really cool.

 

Okay, just finished watching the show.

• This show disproves my "Astrotrain is reverse movie Barricade" assertion. My satisfaction that he finally got to do something outweighs my disappointment at being wrong.
• I couldn't tell if Optimus Prime was talking slower from his injuries or it's his regular slowness finally getting to me.
• I tried to spot other instances, but I think "fwom your future" is the only time Primal mispronounced something like that.
• Dinobot and Tigatron should have swapped VAs.
• Generics just appeared out of nowhere, and I didn't get why they were needed.
• I liked how Mirage hid himself to help Rattrap fight the Cons during the breakout. I didn't like how the strike team escaped by having the Decepticons randomly turn on Beast Megatron.
• Spoiler

  I thought Soundwave had been killed by Dinobot. There's also no way Thundercracker survived getting cut in half and falling into a volcano, so it would have to be a generic that either got killed or showed up later.
• Nemesis Prime justified having a spoiler box this time around.

  there's no sign of Shockwave on Cybertron. He wouldn't be dumb enough to plant a bomb that he didn't have time to get away from, so I doubt he would have died in that explosion. But he wasn't shown to still be alive or dead by some other means. As far as I'm concerned, he's still alive somewhere. Also in regards to said explosion, as annoying as it was that everyone else died in it, I wasn't expecting many survivors anyway.

  I also wish Soundblaster, Omega Supreme and the Coneheads showed up in the finale to confirm their survival. Though I would buy the Coneheads just being out in space somewhere.

  The end of the war didn't feel genuine. It felt like everyone decided to stop fighting, and that's it. And as for Unicron, I don't see any resolution to that on the horizon, so it feels like the series didn't truly end.

Overall, I think this was the weakest link in the trilogy, but mainly due to the ending dragging it down further than the other two.

 

I loved how Optimus' first thought when he sees a couple of organics making a ruckus is "Shoot the animals!"

I'll admit that Kingdom was a slight improvement over Siege & Earthrise. Not exactly a high bar, since those are genuinely some of the most poorly produced bits of crap I've ever forced myself to sit through.

The plot, while not good, was a bit more focussed this time. I thought the BW characters gelled better than expected....which isn't saying much. If I think about any of the dialogue or scenes in detail, I'm going to start laughing at how bad it actually was, so I'm going to be kind and gloss over things in blissful ignorance.

Anyway, it was once again the voices where most of the damage was done. The recurring cast were as reliably terrible as usual. Starscream was far and away the most 'alive' out of everyone, especially once he'd gone a little cuckoo. Strangely, both Megatron & Prime's VA's sounded magnitudes better when voicing Galvatron & Nemesis; how does that work?!

The BW crew ranged from "forgettable but not insulting" for the most part, to downright awful with Megatron. Seriously, you turn the most competent and dangerous villain in the whole franchise into a moronic simpleton with the voice of an extra from Energon? Sums up the show really.

To be fair, Rattrap, Dinobot & Airazor weren't bad, and Blackarachnia actually sounded like she fit in an official cartoon; though I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to inject queer-baiting into her character (calling Arcee cute & kissing Airazor, in a weird sort-of-homage to Silverbolt)....nothing wrong with it, but it felt pointlessly forced.

I also laughed at the fail of scale. Why were the BW bunch the same size as G1 gang, yet looked naturally scaled to Earth at the same time (like Primal swinging from trees, or Airazor sitting on a branch)? Is everyone, including the G1 cast, constantly mass-shifting?

Minus 1 score point for every time Megatron tells us his name is Megatron in that Patrick Star voice =

Geez you’d think Megatron had an Onlyfans account for how much Beast Megs was simping for him.


Incredibly rushed (except when Optimus is talking amirite) and horribly acted like the prior two installments.

 

That was better than I thought it would be.

 

If you do, it should only be in the company of a suicide counselor.

Netflix needs to fire that director!
When one VA talks...all....the....time....like....this it's an artistic choice of the actor but holy s#$@ they were all doing it. Which only tells me that the director is making the choice.
"Okay, now in this scene I want everyone to talk slower."
"No slower."
"Slower still."
What a mess!

 

The ending was so bad. So Megatron and BW Megatron both survived despite killing several main Autobot characters and Unicron isn't tied up. What a terrible instalment, possibly the worst in the Trilogy.

 

I did like how the Beast Modes were handled and that the Maximals and Predacons actually transformed compared to the G1 cast.

 

So I’ve enjoyed the whole WFC series for the most part, but I enjoy most of the shows and movies I watch. I think this one is my favorite. It’s not in my S tier of shows but it’s probably a low A. I think an A- is about right. I enjoyed most of the show. I will say that surprisingly Kingdom Beast Megatron kinda grew on me. This isn’t BW Megs. He’s not good enough for that. I actually like him just in the show, if I ignore all other portrayals of him. Dinobot continues to be my favorite character besides Optimus, and while not as good as Code of Hero, I thought his sacrifice was pretty well done honestly. I might be in the minority on this site but with all the talk of armada and prime being in the next toy line, I wouldn’t mind if the next show fleshes out the all sparks multiverse line, tying in the armada and prime inspired characters and the WFC characters. And also if they do continue this show then Rodimus better be in the next one

 

Gotta love a sequel bait for something that we knew would be the final installment 3 years ago.

Anyway, Dark Multiverse as an advertisement for SG yeah yeah, can we get the Go-Bots, though?

 

And thanks Hasbro for spoiling the big Ark reveal by releasing the toy ahead of schedule. That story moment probably would've impressed me otherwise.

(although it did kind of give me flashbacks to the Atlas reveal in the Voltron finale)

 

Just starting Kingdom tonight, and there are some things I’ve noted thus far:

Dinobot’s voice is an odd one, I mean Tigatron sounds more like him than he does.

I’m finding I’m cool with the voice of Blackarachnia, is a fittingly femme fatale sounding voice.

Dear god Primal and BW Megatron’s voices… just… no…

And as earlier stated, Roster Teeth started out copying the toy models 1:1 and just opted to say “F*** this…” sometime last season. Rattrap looks fairly close if you ignore his tail position, Airazor is dang close, Primal and BW Megs are somewhat. But then we hit Cheetor, BA, and Rhinox; all of whom have fairly large differences. Cheetor’s shin color and flattened chest head, BA’s head looking more like she’s wearing a helmet and seemingly not having the backpack, and Rhinox’s chest jaw being far smaller… And why are Tigatron’s fangs hanging out so far apart like a vampire!?

So, Blackarachnia kissing Airazor took me by surprise.

Unfortunately, that was the only part of the show that didn't bore me out of my mind.

 

Quick answer: No! But I wish they would have made the villian win this time around with how dark they were trying to go. Megatron would have gotten a tipped hat from me if he won. Then again I wish Makuta won in Bionicle... Oh well.

 

I was getting some Mortal Kombat vibes when Optimus was told Megatron had to win.
Shame they literally decided against that in the immediate next scene.

Just watched Kingdom episode 1 at 1.5x speed to make the pacing bearable, lol.  

Maybe didn’t need to, since it was pretty damn neat seeing G1 and BW Transformers on screen together!

Had a dumbass smile on my face the whole time.
