Me: The thing with Airrazor and Blackarachnia feels like a weak cop-out meant to draw in queer audiences without giving them anything substantial and keeping enough plausible deniability to appease homophobes. That one tiny scene doesn't mean anything in the long run.

I liked it, for the most part. The first episode was kinda rough, and some of the voice acting was rough, others were much improved, and still others were consistently good (over the full trilogy that is). And I noticed that for some of the rougher acting, it improved from episode 1 through to episode 6. Mostly. I really liked how Bumblebee, Blackarachnia, Airrazor, and Starscream were used. Krizz Kaliko as Dinobot was pretty good, though I do think the reference to his "to be or not to be" speech was a bit much. Dinobot's arc in general felt rushed, but I liked it. Simpatron bothered me at first, but once I figured out his motivation (which came before it was openly stated) I liked him better. Still have mixed feelings on his voice acting though.

I can't wait as people stream in for their reaction to Blackarachnia
    being totally gay.
I liked it, but I know some hardcore people here will be really upset.

I liked Earthrise for the most part, but boy did Kingdom ever make most (not all) of Earthrise feel like pointless filler. And if there's one big complaint I have, it's
the pointless death of Elita's entire team

Overall, I do agree with the sentiment that Kingdom was the best of the trilogy. I'd say Siege is next, followed by Earthrise. I'd probably give Kingdom a 7/10. It'd be an 8 if it weren't for how rough the first episode was and some of the voice acting. As a trilogy I'm torn between a 6 and a 7.

He wasn't even that bad, just a miscast.
He would have been a perfect Scorponok.

I don’t think it was any kind of deal. Hasbro had a deal with Machinema to produce some content which was the Prime Wars Trilogy. Machinema was eventually bought by time Warner and most of their content was transitioned to rooster teeth even the prime wars trilogy which rooster teeth has on their website. It’s been a theory myself and others here have that the deal Machinema had with hasbro didn’t expire when they were bought but just came with the acquisition and they just took over the deal and that’s why they were the producers of this series.

The things I’ve said about some of the questionable practices by rooster teeth haven’t ever been 100% confirmed nor have they been disputed either. Anytime someone speaks out they release a PR statement saying “well do better” They’ve always had a huge hit with their series RWBY and then genlock but after GenLOCK concluded a lot of issues started coming out like the ones I said. The creator of GenLOCK Gray Haddock never said these things were not true but after so many accusations came out he stepped down as head of their animation. Few months later he was either fired from rooster teeth when they laid off 13% of their staff or he quit. That time at rooster teeth is very murky.

rooster teeth was a company I followed and loved for a long time. I was a huge of RedVSBlue but over the past 6-7 years they’ve changed more and more but one practice they’ve always adopted is something called crunch time. Anyone who follows video games knows what crunch time is. It’s when studios work hours and hours of overtime to complete a project. It’s a practice in video games and it’s very controversial because it happens in companies with salary employees and they’re working 12-16 hours days with zero overtime. It’s a terrible practice that’s heavily scrutinized and rooster teeth does it for their animation! Staff started coming out and saying they were working 12+ hour days and not getting paid for the over time they were putting in or they were getting pulled off one project to focus on something they had no involvement in. It’s something they’ve done when it was 6 guys working in an apartment so it’s always been a practice but it’s caused problems for them over the years. GenLOCK and the last season of RWBY are rumored that 30% of the shows were done with the staffs not being paid.

not a company I support morally anymore and not a company I’ve ever been very happy seeing attached to transformers.

ya ever wanna feel miserable google Mica Burton, Read Rainbows Levar Burton’s daughter and the word “rooster teeth”. That’s a depressing read. She worked for them until she didn’t and eventually spoke out why.

I think part of it is the fact that they absorbed Machinima, who did the Prime Wars trilogy. It's basically all the same guys, just under a different umbrella.

oh it’s not the same guys. Rooster Teeth acquired their properties and content but almost the entire staff of Machinema was fired with it. Rooster Teeth brought on some of the staff for Inside gaming but pretty much everyone at Machinema was let go

Watched it and out of the 3. This was the best, if I were to give it a score I would go with 7 out 10 or an 80 out 100. The voice acting killed most of the score as well as some of the characters development. starscream being the new sunstorm.
Hasbro finally acknowledging sideswipe having a twin brother.
Primal character was disappointing and he was a massive dick.
Even I agree with most folks about tiger and dinobot va being need to be switched, I still liked it.
Elita-1 and Co fate was sad.
Love the idea of cybertron and the allspark being in a symbiotic relationship.
Love this new take on nemesis prime.

I liked it. has problems YESSSSSSSSSSSS and not having these shows be at least 12 episode seasons is a mistake.... you only kinda feel bad for elita... and even she didnt have enough time in the prior 2 seasons for you to bond to her... you need the episodes of random missions and team building and character building... you need episodes of showing some fun and light hearted times that way the dark times hit harder.

but for what they tried , it was entertaining........ and are we getting a season 4 or is that only leading up to the next toy trilogy and no show?

I thought the voice casting for Beast Megs was interesting. He definitely would have worked better as the other guy (I'm avoiding spoilers here) but he has the PERSONALITY of that guy, too. Like, what if Megatron was ________? It worked for the story, I thought.

Overall this was definitely the best and most exciting one.

So...just to get this out of the way, yeah we ended up with discount versions of the Beast Wars characters' voices. That really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but it is what it is. Some range from okay, to serviceable, to downright terrible. The best was probably Rattrap with the worst being BW!Megatron, with even the iconic "Yesss..." just sounding completely wrong and ill-befitting of the character. I'm tempted to think Tigatron and Dinobot should've switched voices, although Tigatron barely talked...I mean, this series has never been a high mark for voice acting, so I guess I'm glad I didn't set my expectations high.

It felt like this entire series was basically just a bunch of guilt-tripping Optimus Prime or watching him get beat up. How many times did we need to remind him how everything was his fault because he sent the Allspark away? And because of that he created a dystopian future for the Maximals and Predacons. Like it took until the very end for the Allspark and Elita-1 to finally tell him he made the right choice.

Another thing that annoyed the heck out of me was just this flip-flopping over whether Megatron was evil or not. Oh look at his noble intentions while he talks about wiping out Optimus Prime and the Autobots and how he's basically just doing it for ego at this point. And then it's all cool as Megatron and the Predacons just walk off into the sunset after trying to kill everybody for centuries because he finally got the memo...and then he implies eventually they'll probably fight again. Ugh.

I'm really kind of just tired of everybody in this show being all angry and stressed at each other every season, but at least it wasn't that long before the Maximals and the Autobots became allies.

"Optimus!" "What!?" and "Is that how he says transform?" were admittedly kind of funny.

This show really didn't do BW!Megatron justice, just turning him into a Megatron sycophant without much of a personality all to his own. Obviously part of it is no David Kaye but there's not much even he could've done with how he was written in this show. I did like how G1!Megatron obviously took issue with the name thing.

I liked that they acknowledged Airazor and Tigatron's relationship...and then Airazor ends up also being Blackarachnia's Silverbolt and getting a kiss on the cheek. Sure, why not?

Blackarachnia is still Blackarachnia with a dash of Tarantulas, knowing way more than she's telling but ultimately out for herself, to the point where she finally joins the Maximals to save her own skin...but it was nice to see her in that group shot.

Dinobot wanted to act honorably and decided to throw in with Dinobot and Starscream...yeah, he should've just joined the Maximals.

Could Starscream always turn invisible? And Mirage's transformations can put him at the actual height of who he's copying?

Why was Arcee's vision of Cog?

Poor Sideswipe. Airazor just sees him as "The Red One." I did like how his vision was seeing Sunstreaker, although sadly we didn't get to see him.

Dinobot got his Code of Hero moment...not that it was as good as Code of Hero, but the intention was the same where he makes a heroic last stand and fights with honor to redeem himself and change the tide of the battle for the good guys. I'm glad he was able to get a moment with the Maximals before he died and express that a part of him always wanted to defect and join them like he's supposed to, and Primal would've accepted him despite him probably making a terrible Maximal, and they got in one Rattrap and Dinobot moment to boot.

I count one utterance of "Boss Bot."

I legitimately thought they had killed off Soundwave there for a second...but then we wouldn't have gotten Ravage versus Cheetor and Tigatron.

I...really don't understand what was the point of Prime giving Megatron the Matrix and having Megatron go into the Allspark temple with it (and apparently the Allspark is so important that it's temple just magically transports itself wherever it goes. Gotta stay classy).

I have to say I was surprised Starscream ended up going the Armada Starscream route of betraying Megatron because it was the right thing to do and Unicron was the more dangerous threat. Altogether I think Frank Todaro probably had the strongest performance in the entire series, capturing Starscream's conniving and ravings when he realizes the true danger quite well.

We were robbed of a sequence of the Ark fully transforming into giant robot form, and of an epic giant robot fight...although it must have been so satisfying for the Ark to just straight up punch the Nemesis.

I guess it's nice that the show brought things full circle with Optimus and Bumblebee...of course that's how the franchise usually goes these days. I do love how Bumblebee ended up being Prime's first choice to take over if he and everyone else died because why the heck not?

I did find it kind of ironic that an evil version of Megatron and Optimus Prime were able to work together compared to their past selves.

Well, at least we got an Optimus Prime versus Nemesis Prime fight.

Jeez, they really did the Cybertron Autobots dirty...and then they end up being Allspark ghosts that wipe out Galvatron and Nemesis Prime as a deus ex machina. And did I see Skywarp there? Was that supposed to be him?

Kingdom was definitely the worst of the three. While the first two weren't terrible, they weren't all that great either. But Kingdom, the voice acting for the Beast Wars characters was atrocious. The "Beast Wars Megatron", I put that in quotes because it's not Beast Wars Megatron, voice was nails on chalkboard bad. They even had him say yes one of the first times he spoke. Man, was it awful, so was "Dinobot", so was "Primal", so was "Rhinox", so was "Cheetor", etc. etc. Black Arachnia and Airazor weren't as bad as the others, but that's not saying much. Not the worst Transformers show, but it wasn't good either. At least there have been some GREAT toys to come out of this series. It could be worse. It could have been Energon.

4/10. Voices still suck, but I loved what it did with Starscream and the last episode was actually pretty cool, even if it felt a little sloppy.

Well, it was watchable? It wasn't the worst thing ever, like the last two seasons, but I wouldn't call it good either. There was a moment where I couldn't recall the moment were Beast Megatron switched sides in the end. One moment he was fangirling over Megatron, next thing he's standing with the Autobots and Maximals. He lacked the charm of the original and was horribly miscast either way. Also, they did Elita and her whole squad dirty big time, as if her arc as well as that of her team's was all for nothing. Maximal cast was ok. Not bad, but nothing special either. Everyone still takes those annoying dramatic pauses in every sentence they speak.
Also, wtf was up with the 2 blink-and-miss Blackarachnia gay moments? Seriously, if you're gonna go gay can we please stop with the damn queerbaiting? Embrace it or don't bother.

I watched Siege with low expectations but a positive attitude and wanted to defenestrate myself by the end.

I watched Earthrise with lower expectations and zero interest and wanted to chain myself to an anchor and dive off a boat in the pacific by the end.

If I watch Kingdom, it'll be with rock bottom expectations and a merciless critical eye. Should I even bother?
