this was never intended to be part of the original cartoon. It used elements but name a series in the past 20 years that hasn’t.

yes this leaves some things open but so did The Prime wars. So did prime/rid. So did animated. Where’s their spin offs of sequels?

personally I don’t want anymore of this not because I hated it I didn’t but I don’t want anymore of rooster teeth’s involvement with transformers again.

I was expecting, or maybe I was hoping this would be Game of Thrones Season 8 levels of bad. But... I... liked this. It's definitely flawed, and a lot of the same flaws from the previous 2 seasons carried over, but the new ideas they introduced weren't too bad. I do think the final battle and how they defeated them was anti-climatic. Like seriously? There are like 20 of you and you can't take on 2 robots?

I actually love Starscream's second "betrayal". I really didn't expect that, so that was a very nice surprise.

I also agree with whoever that said it sounds like they got Tigertron and Dinobot's voice switched around. Dinobot's voice reminded me of a youtube Sekiro parody called Sekirot.

Check the 23:02 mark and tell me that doesn't sound like Dinobot:

Yeah, the stuff on Cybertron had no payoff. That was really lame. Maybe they shouldn't have tried to cram all that into just 6 episodes. There is also time-travel BS that doesn't make sense, as all time-travel stories go I guess.

If they are going to do a sequel, I agree with everyone. Fire the casting director.

I don't think you guys know what a casting director does; they run the auditions and they get as many people as possible to come in and audition. Casting directors don't have a role in actually casting people, that's all up to the showrunners and actual executive producers. I'm perfectly fine with the voices in the show, I actually like a lot of them, especially Rattrap and their take on Tigatron, and holy shit Blackarachnia was well cast. There's a shit ton of people involved in the actual casting decisions, not one of them is the "casting director". They work with who they're allowed to bring in to auditions, in this case from a pool of mostly New York based non-union actors.

Ive only seen a few episodes, and holy shit this series is fun. I'm really enjoying it so far and I'm excited to see the rest. I love to see Beast era characters full on interacting with G1 characters, it's really cool. I do agree the action and voices are way too slow, and I recommend putting it on 1.25 speed. There are flaws sure, but I'm having too much fun.

Because the Predacons needed mooks and Scorponok had a shillable toy at the right time to make it into the show. It's not like the Predacons could have an army of black Ironhides.

Okay so I just finished it and honestly, overall I think this is easily the best of the trilogy. I'd honestly go so far as to say I... Liked it.(?)..

There are still TONS of problems, BW Megatron's voice being the worst. But I did love his characterization as a fanatic obsessed with Megatron to the point of taking his name. I'm not asking for David Kaye, just something a bit more imposing to fit his look.

I did really like the twist on how the Maximals and Predacons come from the future, but not in the same way as OG BW. I also liked how they handled them for the most part, at least the ones who were actually characters. Most of them are different for sure, but I feel it was done pretty well. It could have been far worse.

Dinobot's voice took some getting used to, honestly at first I felt like they shouldn've swapped Tigatron and Dinobot's voice actors, but the VA did do an AMAZING job in my opinion. Dinobot was easily my favorite part of this show. His character arc was pretty good, if a bit rushed in certain spots.

Blackarachnia was also fun, she's probably my second favorite Beast behind Inferno, so it was nice to see her more or less be unchanged from the original show.

Starscream also had an incredible character arc, I'll get more into that under the spoiler tag.

Primal got on my nerves at first. He just felt like a total dickhead at the beginning, but about halfway through I started to enjoy him.

Otherwise, it was enjoyable. Not necessarily good, but enjoyable. Makes me wonder where all the effort like this went in the other parts. I do think that based on the ending, the next toyline and it's accompanying show will be a sequel to this. We'll just have to see.

Hopefully if the same crew is working on the next show, they put at least as much care into it as they did this one. That's all I'll ask for.

    As for spoilers:
Megatron going crazy and hallucinating at the start because of the matrix rejecting him I thought was great. Especially love after he Boonk Gang'd the matrix in the all-spark's chamber he had that mega nightmare vision and the floor turned into a fabric effect and he sank.

Starscream snatching the golden disk, only to learn about Unicron and go bonkers was also great. I loved hearing him babble like a maniac, it's a fun twist on Starscream's treachery, with trying to stop Galvatron from even happening being the inciting incident for him to actually try and stop Megatron.

I hated the Ark's voice. My brother was in the room during that reveal, and he summed it up best as "hey Matt! We need a voice for this character, you wanna do it?". He needed something more imposing.

Nemesis Prime was a bit boring, just making him "Optimus if he got the Galvatron Treatment" is kinda lame, and doesn't quite fit because Galvatron, Scourge, and Cyclonus weren't just straight recolors. Still, Nemesis having ties to Unicron is pretty common, and having him straight up be a literal evil Optimus, and not a clone, was kinda refreshing. Didn't hate him, just not quite right to me.

I am VERY curious as to what kind of history Primal had with Nemesis though. BW Megatron says something about Primal "siding with Nemesis", and Primal also kinda hinted at something. Maybe Megs was referring to Optimus, as in "you sided with the guy who becomes Nemesis", but still, there's some neat story potential there.

Also, where was Rodimus? I kinda expected him to show up to help fend off Nemesis so Bee could get the all-spark to safety. The idea being that Rodimus is from the future where they succeeded, but only because he came back to help them. It's also weird that the Maximals and Predacons can just... Live on modern Cybertron now, despite their future no longer being a thing. Probably some weird time travel mumbo jumbo there.

The fact they're trying so hard to push Cog as being a hero is hilarious to me. The attempt at a somber sacrifice in Earthrise just made me laugh my ass off, so seeing them construct a statue for him at the end was hilarious.

That ending though REALLY intrigued me seeing Galvatron and Nemesis getting re-reformatted peaks my interest at what they might do in the future, if they continue this story that is. At least, I think that they were getting reformatted again, they had the grid lines over them.

BW Megatron sounds like RID01 Megatron but even worse.

EDIT: Okay not really, it was just a couple lines.

The fact that the entire cast on Cybertron were all dead at the end, after they found out the Ark survived, and the lack of Omega Supreme really feels like the team going "fuck it. If Netflix won't be giving us the more episodes we've been fighting for, half the show gets resolved off screen".

And hey, it turned out much better than Earthrise, so...

I also leave my opinion in this post.

I watched in audio latino so I hadn't problem with the voices.

I really liked the first chapter, the second was bad but then it gets better (of course it's better than earthrise).

There were action scenes that I found great, why couldn't they do the whole series that way?

The predacons and maximals were fantastic, I think they were the best thing about this show.

The best of this series was the photography, simply beautiful.

Finally...and it was clear to me that:

    Transformers G1 = 2D

    Transformers Beast Wars = 3D

If Netflix decides to continue with this series (if it's in 3D) it should be just a series of Beast Wars (they were born for that quality of animation).

If I wanted to see a series again with the G1 designs, it would have to be in 2D, like He-Man.

I finished watching Kingdom, and I enjoyed it. It is definetly the best of the trilogy, and one that kept me entertained.

    I liked:
    • The animation - It still retained its smoothness, and it kind of captured the idea in my head of having character models based of the toys.
    • The voice acting - While the voice director did hinder Earthrise, it seems to be mostly resolved in Kingdom. The voice actors still do a few pauses, but it is not very disruptive, and I think they all managed to deliver their lines much better than previous chapters. I was even fine with the direction of Optimus Prime and Beast Wars Megatron, although the latter did sound too young for the role. They may not be better than the previous voice actors, but I think they did a good job of conveying the characters.
    • The plot - The storyline kept me hooked, and I was interested in seeing how things were building up towards the finale. I liked learning more about how the Maximals and Predacons came to exisit, and seeing Optimus Prime and Megatron change overtime, although the latter was a much better and more consistent character throughout the show.
    I disliked:
    • The payoff for Seige and Earthrise - This is my biggest grip with the show. While Siege still played a role for Kingdom, I couldn't really say the same for Earthrise.
Aside for killing of all of the bots at Cybertron from Earthrise, and sending the allspark offworld in Siege, I felt like Kingdom could have been spun off into a 12 episode show for the entire triology. Players like the Quintessons, Ultra Maguns and all of the bots on Cybertron during Earthrise really didn't get that involved in Kingdom.
    • Too short - I still feel six episodes was too little for this show. Four more epsiodes to get a better understanding of some of the history of Cybertron, the maximals and predacons might have lead to more lore to explore. And while the character development for characters like Optimus Primal, Megatron and Bumblebee were good, I think a few more episodes might have give the writers a bit more breathing room, especially with how packed each epsiode was, in terms of the number of characters involved.
Overall, I enjoyed it. Thanks to the team for making this show. I can't imagine it was easy to make it during the pandemic, but it kept me entertained, and help me pass the time. I hope that if this team does make another trilogy, they take the feedback onboard, and use it to make the next installments as good, or better, than Kingdom.

I will say this about the War for Cybertron Triology; while it may have not been that consistent, and is a flawed show, I still enjoyed it much more than the Prime Wars Triology.

Blackarachnia’s vision, with the wolf howls and silhouette, was it me or was that an allusion to Silverbolt?

    First thoughts on Kingdom

okay, so having a lot of trouble not judging the Beast Wars character voices. BW Megs is terrible so far. Dinobot sounded like he was going to snarl… and then he stopped. BlackArachnia is fine, not quite the same but not different in a bad way. Tigatron… the hell did they do to his voice? I feel like the guy playing Dinobot would play a great Tigatron. Rattrap and Rhinox seem okay. Cheetot seems dead on. Primal seems like a pale imitation of Ron Perlman.

plot-wise the first episode is inoffensive. Obligatory good guy fight before team up of a crossover accomplished.

ohh, a green and red cog repaint. Please make these toys yesterday, Hasbro.

I was not aware of this. This explains a lot and now I can see why this series has been so lackluster. Thanks for sharing that info. It is a damn shame really. Whoever made this deal possible internally for Hasbro, did very little research then and probably look for the cost efficient route.

Finished it and I must say. I liked it. Its the best out of the trilogy. What I liked most about it was that they did some new things with the beasts. Like it wasn't the same future we thought it would be. and Dinobots arc. it was reminiscent of Code of Hero yet was also a new take. He never joined the Maximals but thought about it anyway. Starscream turning into a rambling crazy person was also fun to watch, like a Lovecraft character going mad after learning something. Beast Megs being a fanatic of Megs was also good. I like that they also hinted that both sides were more gray with the Preds being more diplomatic with the cons and the Maximals being the more hostile ones at least at first. the voice work took some getting used to but it was good enough. I wonder where they will go after the ending if they continue it at all.
