You missed the point I’m trying to make: the figure is more prone to being stolen or replaced, and more easily affected by the elements. It’s been seen that these figures are not the sturdiest, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see figures with damage that could’ve been prevented with proper sealing.

You could have sold it to someone on the boards or even on Ebay.

    Thought about it.
There was a bunch, and if this store had them then it won’t be long before other stores get them.

I dunno- should I buy a few tomorrow (if any are left) and hock them on the boards?
    I’ll stop and see.

Maybe just help out board members who don't have stores close to them.

If I missed that point, it's because you didn't make it in your previous posts. I know the 'touching of figures' is not your main objection, I was riffing on Bellpepper's comment.

Anyway, this is great news, for those who wish to have their wicked way with figures and just cruelly leave them behind on the shelf. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. Toy lickers will have a field day.

In all seriousness, I see quite a few open window toys, and you do get the odd one with a head or some gimmick feature that came loose, or where some kid with sticky ice-cream fingers had pawed it. But in my experience, most are fine. These are generally aimed at a younger demographic. I suppose we'll see how this works out, you well may be proven correct.

Ah, yes. The figure with an alt-mode and accessories based on a two minute scene from the first episode of a 37 year old cartoon is definitely aimed at a younger demographic.

The source of the design is irrelevant. In general, if it's stocked in the toy aisle of a store then it's not explicitly targeted at adult collectors, regardless of what those adult collectors might think. They are definitely a consideration, but they are not the sole target.

Not what I said. This sort of open window packaging has previously been used for figures aimed at a younger demographic. Which are probably the most likely to interfere with a product. There's nothing to stop Hasbro from using it for any demographic.

I actually do like the open window for kids. Makes the opening experience more toyetic. Kids can imagine what it will feel ike in their hands. They don't need to wait to open the box. They can even tear right into the toy in the parking lot. It's a good marketing move to aim better at the target demographic - Kids and parents. That adult collectors also want the product is just a bonus. We probably only represent 15-20% of toy sales.

Exactly. The reason the figure exists is because Bumblebee is the go-to character that little kids have gravitated towards and Target+Hasbro have basically dedicated a whole sub line to. This Cybertronian Origins version is definitely fanservice but it only exists so that more BB figures can be sold to kids.

So...like nobody's noticed the bevy of windowless/open-style Transformers toys we've been getting steadily since 2014 with Age of Extinction/The Last Knight/RID2015/Bumblebee Movie/Cyberverse/Buzzworthy/etc? It's not a new thing.

This comment probably doesn't belong here, but now that I have one in hand, he feels nice and looks better than the pictures. Cool jetpack too!

    I like this figure. :D

I alleviated the fear of it being 26.99 like somebody was reporting. How is this bad?

Struck out at Target today. I definitely want this guy. Hopefully he pops up online. Is the Buzzworthy subline a Target exclusive or something? I haven't been following it at all.
