I don't see a single part on them that's the same.

 

Weren't there some theories about Rung and Vos being connected in some way in the early days of the MTMTE run? Or am I pulling that out of thin air?

 

Yeah, that's how extensive the retool is: every single mold is completely different.

 

Yeah Mentis is a new mold. Not sure why anyone would think he has anything to do with Cynicus lol should be pretty darn obvious.

Does remind me though how many people kept sayin for years mmc should use Cynicus for Rung but that never made any sense to me given how entirely different their alt modes are.

 

I would have liked him to be a bit shorter, but I'm pretty happy with the result. He'll fit in fine with Generations.

Eh Rung was always on the shorter side in the comics. Closer to Rewinds height than car bot height, so I think it still works for an MP shelf.

 

Yeah. He is perfectly sized. He was made to fit in with voyagers (he is a deluxe that scales properly with them)/reformatted figures.

 

I'm thinking with all the MMC sister company OX's (ocular max) releases and reissues (for the year of the ox... lol) we are getting a lot of MPs collectors jumping in on the non-mp reformatted line. Which is wonderful, but I can understand the confusion as Reformatted line is the only non mp line left from Mmc and the only Mmc line left thats not under the OX umbrella.

 

You can tell by looking at it, paint looks different if the quality of the picture is high enough.

Rung was a little shorter than the average guy like Skids or Brainstorm in the comics, but he was twice as tall as Rewind.

I thought Rung was closer in size to Chromedome. I was obviously wrong.

 

Just think of the scene in the cell with Minimus Ambus and the Energon Goodies.

Milne seems to have drawn the figures at more-or-less MMC scale, with the notable exception of Thunderclash being Leader-sized and taller than Megatron. Usually Rung was a bit shrimpy in Milne's work. With a lot of the other artists, the scale was all over the place.

This reminds me of the time I climbed a desolate mountain to speak to a wise hermit. "Oh wise hermit," i asked, "will my TF collection ever be in scale?" He placed his dirty, worn hand on my shoulder, clutched it with all the force of the ages and said, "Son, if you but learn this, you shall be content. Scale is f***ed. Scale will always be f***ed."
