I'm still team no transforming skeleton. It will be cheaper and sturdier.

 

Strongly agree. Don't compromise the frame with a useless attempt at a transformation. XTB did it and it was a disaster.

 

Yeah, if they bump up against any issue at all, just lose all the transforming. Just gimme a luscious parts forming torso with the sweetest sturdiest ratchets, paint and poseablilty and I'll be all good. Better to lean toward Zeta than XTB.

DX9 did it with no issues.

 

Basically just take Studio cells joints and ratchets, and throw them in a big ol metal stick figure

 

Theirs HAD to do something because their Motormaster didn't have a trailer. Theirs sux too. Just not as bad

 

As much as the x-transbots one annoys me I liked that the trailer was the combiner. I do agree with it not being sturdy but I think that's more to do with the wedged in base mode, I think without that the trailer would have worked better. Fans toys stunticons are heavier than x-transbots so a frame would be a safer bet for a posable combiner.

 

Actually DX9 Motormaster has a quarter of a trailer. I know, because I own one. It sucks? In what way. It's super stable.

 

I think DX9 looks pretty great and I'm always thinking about getting it (But mostly because I'm worried about this combined mode). But that DX9 trailer mode is terrible and silly looking! The best example of a traile/torso combo is the legends Magic Square one. That at least lets me know it's possible, maybe FT will master it.

 

Yeah I'd agree that the trailer looks silly, but that does not mean the combined mode is not stable. In fact it's possible that the combined mode is stable because the trailer looks silly  

 

I agree, if it can turn into a trailer and be great, I'm all for it! But if it sucks and turns into a trailer, it's gonna be XTB base mode all over again!

 

Yeah no base mode for me.

 

I already broke the little part that ends up under the door in car mode on Spoiler...the "running board" for lack of a better word. You have to be careful as that is a bad stress point that will cause it to break over time.

Roadking requires a table to set him on to transform him but honestly, he's not as tough as one might think. Spoiler has some scary parts and I already broke the piece that fills out the bottom of the door in car mode and I thought I was being super careful.

 

Not to derail this whole thing but rq, the trailer on MS Motormaster is completely separate, right? Just out of curiosity, haven't seen anything about him and I MIGHT be breaking my Legends rules at least with combiners since a helping of them seem VERY nice. MS Menasor included.

 

Yeah, MotorMaster is just the cab. The trailer becomes the whole Menasor frame and the cars and MM pop onto it. Everything in that pic of Menasor is hidden up in the trailer except the 2 cars (on the back of his legs) and the sword.

 

Menasor and Motormaster are really nice. The limb bots are kinda meh, but menasor more than makes up for it.

 

Yeah the MS Menasor is everything I want from a stunticon set.

Correct robot mode scale among the stunticons? Check.
A trailer that isn't two miles long? Check.
Just one trailer that becomes the Menasor skeleton? Check.

When I saw that and Devastator I was seriously tempted to just switch over to legends collecting.

 

Yeah, I had the same reaction like "This is everything I want from a Menasor but size!". I'm not gonna switch to legends but I'm getting the combiners so I can have some kind of Combiner collection if it doesn't workout for everything at MP scale.

 

Pretty standard sight to see this on the road in Europe, so i don't see it as a problem....
