AoE has one of the best action set pieces of the series with Galvatron’s activation and Lockdown’s introduction. However, the first hour is tough to get through because of Bay’s nonstop toilet humor. Jack Reynor is also a stiff and Mark Wahlberg isn’t much better.

I'm curious, what toilet humor? AOE is usually seen as the one without it, or at least massively toned down compared to something like ROTF.

There's literally an entire scene about legalized underage sex.

Nothing in ROTF is on the level as that.

EDIT: Except maybe the 'enemy scrotum' joke but really that just means AoE is maybe on par with ROTF in terms of frat humor.

Trust me, I remember. But that’s one scene though. The term “nonstop” implies more than one.

Yep, and it’s an annoying thread that goes on for quite a while.

How exactly does "nonstop toilet humor" equate to one scene though, no matter how messed up it is?

ROTF has a lot more toilet humor than AOE, I would even say it has the most out of all the movies: dogs humping, Wheelie humping Megan Fox's leg, the "enemy scrotum", Jetfire "farting" a parachute, Simmons' S7 underpants close-up, the whole museum toilet paper scene, Megan Fox landing on Leo's balls after teleporting, and probably more that I can't remember off the top of my head.

AOE was a huge improvement when it came to that type of "humor", even if it had the R&J scene.

I dunno, Age of Excrement was a three hour long piece of shit if you ask me. ROTF at least had decent enough pacing whereas AoE just threw random crap in it like the drawn out beer gag where the action pacing of the scene comes to a screeching halt so Cade can pretty much pretend to be in a beer commercial.

I mean sure, AOE is too long with stupid "jokes" and ROTF has better pacing with toilet humor. But I'd rather have the Cade beer scene than the stuff I mentioned in my previous post. None of these scenes/"jokes" has a place in these movies of course, but Bay is in charge so there must always be something.

I enjoy some of the new characters - Lockdown is a good villain. I like Hound as well. Kelsey Grammer is pretty good as far as human villains go.

Actions scenes are nicely done - especially the Galvatron chase scene.

Don't really like the idea of the KSI Bots and the Dinobots weren't done justice.

Mark Walhberg as Cade Yeager is not very relatable and just seems like your generic action hero guy. Him being an inventor is never really expanded upon like it should be.

There is some good stuff and ideas in the movie but overall it doesn't really come together.

Third best Bayverse movie, with RoTF and TLK being the only movies worse than it. I’m glad that they cut down the Autobot cast to give room to the new guys. Speaking of the new Autobots, they were pretty good. My main problem is that they have trouble working as a team, but it’s understandable considering they most likely didn’t know of each other until AoE. The Romeo and Juliet plot I could’ve done without though. Cade is definitely better than whatever Sam was. I like that Megatron was reformatted into Galvatron, but I dislike that Galvatron became Megatron again in TLK. Lockdown makes the top three best Bayverse villains. I could go on more but this is already too long.
