My 30-bob Maverick arrived from Sports Direct. Shipped in a thin plastic bag but my local Hermes lady is lovely and didn’t squash it. Camouflage contains hieroglyphs (they made some of it by mirroring). Or maybe they’re alive...?  

 

TFSafari have added a small battery and LED pack that fits inside The Ark's robot head - lights up the light piping.

 

Finally got notification from Collectable Kingdoms that they’re shipping the Zartan I ordered from them back in March.
Only reason I hadn’t cancelled was the charge I would have incurred.
Unfortunately it has taken so long I’ve started a collection of Star Wars black series and cancelled my other G.I Joe preorders elsewhere.

 

Nice, that box looks in great condition.

 

My money would be on Mr. Hobby Aqueous Hobby Color Metallic Blue, water-based is a doddle to neaten up at curing phase. @Prescient's Tamiya option is probably a good shout too but for hand painting I prefer the consistency of Mr. Hobby, it's a smidge more viscous which I like plus it cures quick (touch dry in 30 minutes) but not too quick (proper full cure is about 2-3 days).

 

Galvatron day.

I like him more than I expected! Flipped shoulders and the visible pin doesn’t really bother me. Appears a more slender yet accurate shape than he does photographed. Battle damage is less garish too. Face sculpt works really well in person. Concerns quelled.

Cons? Would love a bit more head tilt, pin hinged hands and a decent chain. The random Revenge(s) are still cabled tied to the box.

 

I said it before but he’s crying for alternate faces. A shouting and laughing face along with hands that can open would have made him literally perfect to me.

One bright side about the pins facing forward is you can place the cannon into it so he holds it like the G1 toy. If I ever spot the other version in Forbidden Planet or something and get a moment of weakness that’s how I would display him.

 

It is! Am saving him to open for a treat later. Wish box had been more similar to the ones for Ectotron and Gigawatt though. #howmanymorelivesmustyoutake80snostalgia?thentakemine!

I also was super disappointed when it was revealed how stoic his face appeared. I always see Galvatron with a maniacal grin or mad screaming gob similar to MP 36’s alt faces.

 

That red toed OP is a great find. Weren't they a French release?

if you can get it balanced right, the revenges can act as a stand for the matrix, both on and off the chain. whether that was intentional or not, it kinda works.

i noticed that 5mm a few days ago and did the same thing with the cannon! might display the cannon like that when i get Galvatron II.

i really hope a company makes alternate heads, even if they're unpainted. i wish CHUG picked up the modern action figure tradition of alternate heads, even if you had to buy them separately as a selects release.

Today has been a good day for retro KD.

Exhibit A...a mint, sealed BT Meister (zoom zoom ver)


The box was resealed but the inner bubble and figure were sealed. Absolutely incredible presence, they literally don't make them like this anymore. Die-cast, clear plastic, ratchet joints, fully painted...gosh.


And two of these lads from our own @nemisispringer   superb transformations, very intuitive, very fun and stylized. We needed more figs like this!
