So you completely solve the only major design issue with Starscream's robot mode, and then on top of it give Barricade a badass accessory that honestly makes way more sense in its toy incarnation than it did in the movie? I HATE y'all (for being so dope)

 

I just want the barricade upgrade. Lame I have to get the SS stuff with it, but maybe someone wants to go in on it with me? I can sell off just the SS parts if anyone is just keen on those. Pm me

 

So, I see that no one is pointing out that DNA has gone out of their way in these photos to obscure the fact that Frenzy's face is just sitting there expose on the top of the gun atl mode.

 

DNA knocks it out of the park yet again. Literally my only problem with either of the figures is fixed by this set.

 

Having Frenzy as a Target master instead of a boom box or whatever is a great idea. This set is great for those who have MPM figures. I do hope we get a Studio Series Frenzy mini figure or something soon, maybe as a upgrade kit part or as an accessory of some kind.

 

This kit looks great! Frenzy turning into one of the dotm guns is genius. I could nitpick the fact that the head is too big for the body but I don't care enough. I'm just glad this is happening.

New forearms for Starscream is cool but not really needed. He already has that joint it's just weird. This does seem like it makes it way easier to manipulate though. My main starscream is the KO now anyways since my official broke   so these arms will be useless to me.

Yeah already put in my order with BBTS, although they've been hella slow to get stock lately.

There is nothing SS related in this set.

Yeh, it really looks that way. His head seems to become the barrel of a gun and his face ends up right on top of it. You can actually see some blue (one of the eyes?) there.
But at this point I just don't care. The idea itself is just great and my Barricade needs a gun.

 

Finally, an upgrade kit that my figures can use! This’ll be my first DNA kit cuz most of my figures are KO’s. What’s everyone’s preferred vendor to order these from? Couldn’t see anything for them on Show Z.

 

Here I am still waiting on DNA's SS Shockwaves arm replacements....

Whelp, looks like I'm finally getting MPM Starscream. The missing biceps swivel was a deal-breaker for me. A shame that neither Hasbro nor KO companies could implement such a simple joint...

 

ShowZ is usually pretty good for these and should have them up soon. Depending on where you are you can use a local retailer. BBTS in the States usually gets all the DNA stuff, however it can be much later then other retailers. Ages 3 and Up in Canada is a good source for them as well.

 

Ohhhhhh, I haven't seen "SS" used to mean "StarScream" in a long time. You're probably right.

He has full arm movement, it's just implemented strangely. This has been known since day 1.

 

You mean de-transforming the arm so it looks like Longhaul drove over it? If that were a satisfying solution we wouldn't be getting this kit.

 

It's clearly designed for that. There's a peg that keeps it all together even. It's not a great joint but it is there and it's usable. This is clearly a better solution but not essential, IMO.
