Received (and finally unboxed/transformed/fiddled with) my two copies from TCP, this week.

I had actually owned the first versions of the three seekers when they were first released, but don't think I ever got around to transforming them ( I sold them a while ago). That was something I was immediately regretting, when I noticed that there were no instructions in the boxes! Thankfully it was a fairly basic transformation, and there are videos available for reference. Some fiddly tabbing on the wings, but overall not awful.

I knew of the issues related to the new faces (from this thread), but was disappointed to see that one of my copies had a head that bobbled around like a ragdoll...and even the legacy faces will pop off quite easily. I had to wrap the ball peg in some plastic from a sandwich back to get enough friction to relieve Meteor of the appearance of narcolepsy. The only other issue I've noticed is one of the afterburner cones popped off pretty easily.

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and would definitely pick up 2 sets of Thundercracker and Skywarp. I received two copies of MP-52 and didn't have any issues with them (lucky me?), and I honestly appreciate both versions of Starscream pretty equally.

    Questions:
    1. How far back to the knees bend? I’ve seen pics and watched video reviews but the shown prototype on the front page of this thread seems to have been able to bend the knees more than the production copies. Do production copies bend just as far?
    2. For those of you who’ve handled Meteor a lot, do you find it to be something that can be picked up and handled often with no concerns of breakage? I have many Starscream figures that all bring different aspects to the table. If Meteor is something I can pick up, transform back and forth and fiddle with without worry then I’ll definitely consider it more. I’ve always liked the transformation of it from what I’ve watched in videos. That cockpit fake out is very impressive.

How do you make the wings in jet mode sit flush? How do you solve this problem? 16265480346032937300930886530572.jpg
And also, the piece between the wings and getting that middle piece tabbed into the arms is a pain in the ass

In the video daimchoc posted above, I think the same issue may have been present, due to malformed clips

Here's a quick fix for the wing gap issue. I figured this out this morning.

I have a first run Meteor. The knees appear to be double jointed but one of the joints is stupid tight. I can double check it again tonight if you want.

As to your second question, I find all the versions of this mold to be very durable as far as transformation goes. You have the nosecone that falls off due to the c-clip system, and my Skywarp had a couple parts that weren’t glued in very well and fell off, but those were easy fixes. Nothing felt like it was going to break. The only part I would be careful with are the pointy bits at the bottom of the wings. Not so much handling the wings with kid gloves but just being aware of where they are and making sure the pointed bits are not bouncing off other parts or that you’re supporting his weight by them. But I have transformed all my versions a bunch and never had a problem with those or anything else. I would have absolutely no reservations about the mold standing up to repeated transformation.

Thanks! Sounds like it might be a good inclusion for my Starscream collection.

I think it would be. MT never were one to do shelf queens. All their stuff was made to be handled and I don’t think this is any different. Which is why they were my favorite 3rd party before they mostly went belly up.

I’ll take a look at the knee joints on mine and try to put up a pic tonight. It’s been so long since I really tested the limits for that on this figure, that I just cannot recall how far it goes.

Checked the knee joints. Definitely double jointed, the lower one is a bit stiffer on Meteor but usable. When I had the G2 version that joint wouldn’t even budge.

Using both joints to their fullest, he gets about halfway between 90 degrees and the full run before the back shin cover starts hitting things. So about 135 degrees. You might be able to untab that cover and get more as well. But still a nice range, regardless.

So I have an interesting and annoying situation: I recently purchased a G2 Meteor and through a wonderful series of events, he has a reversed tail fin on his right leg

Anyone have a replacement fin or two of the opposite ones?
