I like how the barrel changes on Mixmaster rather than completely swapping it out for a new barrel. And transformation of his cab/legs was interesting solution too.

The bit with the chest swiveling on Scrapper was clever too.

Much like the first set, which I really like (minus the hollow forearms), this second looks good overall, but Scrapper's lower legs are a real eyesore to me. I hate the way the ankle title breaks up the sculpt across the shin (why not build it around the toe?) and all then there's all that hollowness. Not exactly "mini-masterpiece" level!

I'm not sure why they couldn't have come up with something better, especially since these bots don't really have to sacrifice anything for combined mode, given Devy's plug-and-play design. Anyway, it's just stings a bit because otherwise he's so good.

Yeah it’s a bit curious, given they could have made both these guys a teeny bit bigger to bulk up Devie’s legs, and used that extra scale to maybe get an extra flap for bot mode legs out of it, or something.

That said, what I like about both these guys is how unique they look, and their legs are a big part of it (same with the third set). MS does a better job at making a standard box-and-toe leg, but at the same time they start to all look kinda generic and the same, the way the aerial bots do, which is a drag since being different to each other is what make the Constructicons fun.

so in a way this set’s ‘problems’ is what gives it the whimsy that makes them simultaneously more fun. Whatyagunnado?

I'm totally down for unique looking bots, as well as fun and whimsy! But NA have shown they can accomplish those things without hollowness and ugly (to me) articulation cuts.

In other words, why not both? :lol

Whew, glad to see it. I was truly stunned by that missing roof, don't know why.

More and more, this set makes me think "what if the original G1 Constructicon toys were made in 2021?", and not "what if you could get a Masterpiece-grade toy in a Legends size?", which is what NewAge typically makes me think. There is value to that approach, and they are absolutely charming, but to me they seem to stand out from NA's usual offerings. The giant open gaps and hollows in the legs and arms are hugely disappointing, and are one of the main reasons I drifted away from mainline Hasbro toys.

That's what I was thinking as well.. the hollow feet and arms, they're quite in your face and make the figures look cheaper than they are. Mixmaster's arms are thin with 2 small wheels attached to them. Usually I'm liking some sort of design choices on NA figures, but these just stand out to me, in being too simple. At least for their price.
Not trying to bash at all, but like I said, this 2nd set really stands out to me for their lack of "MP quality".

There were many complaints about the price early on, but now we have complaints they didn't add engineering to cover up some hollow bits. If they had done extras to cover the hollowness, we would see both an uptick in price and most likely complaints about finicky flaps that cover hollow spots. I don't think there is once company out there that can please everyone. There will always be something to complain about.

Very happy and surprised that box 2 is already arrived at Showzstore, I had figured them for early August for monthly releases.
Payment sent :)  good that Scrapper will arrive very soon but if they release sets every 3 weeks,I think that last piace will arrive a little later the third box.
In vehicle mode Mixmaster is very beautiful ,the truck cab I missed on UW and Scrapper in bot mode is a little masterpiece, however payloader is meh.For now I'll stick with NA Devastator, but I can ,I could also buy a MS Scrapper box,in their version is less beautiful but for a bulky version on this bot is what I needed.

And for extra sets,if I can, just choose one,I'd go for G2 and their realistic approach instead of G1 toy ,but depends also if Mixmaster has a muthplate and other little things.

Totally this. That's a big part of the appeal for this colorway, I think. I hope Long Haul's vehicle looks more like his G1 counterpart did (and the real-world vehicle) though. Parts of the front ends and the wheels we've seen on him so far look terrible and all sorts of wrong both for G1 and anything else.
    Yeah that is clever!

Looks like the whole cab/roof section is missing on the back of their copy.

The other way to look at it is the things that are left out that disappoint people are precisely what justifies their complaints about the price.

In those regards it would be toy accurate.

Yeah the wheels are atrocious and ruin the look of the whole thing. They belong on a donk rather than a dumptruck. The sidewall to wheel face ratio should be more tire than wheel. The thinness of the tires is also wrong but more understandable as it's common to find tires thinner than they should be on transformers due to the need to tuck them away somewhere on transformation. So the wonky section width is more forgivable.
The flanks of the dump bed hanging so far down on the sides is odd as well.
Altogether, it ends up looking like a wheelbarrow rather than a dumptruck. It's the eyesore of the set and what keeps this set's altmodes from being a near-perfect modern take on the G1 toys.

True, for me instead, both for the rim design and bed proportions gave me thinking of a modified little truck in some rural/countryside setting. At least can be nice, although not intimidating.

Yeah! Just for comparison, here’s what the back ought to look like, versus the copy in the review:

I hope we get more reviews from China soon just to clarify if the first vid posted was possibly a dud on the canopy.

Also need to take into account this is a massive project to engineer and then produce all more or less at the same time. Having great looking robot modes and ultimately the combined mode as a priority means some areas are going to take a small hit. NA could have probably spread the release of these out over the entire year and increased the budget and retail price overall, or they could do what they have done and budgeted for a monthly release cycle to get these out to rabid fans.
