Never saw that one. Wasnt thrilled with how Shatter died, but it was Dropkicks death that was really stupid. Chains ? Seriously ? I would have rather seen Bee use his blaster to execute a wounded Dropkick in the head, executioner style. The same way Dropkick killed the humans.

I don’t understand why someone would so vehemently defend movies that have been blasted for years for their low quality by critics and fans alike.

...you mean you wanted Bumblebee to turn Dropkick into jelly?

Aye that would be very in character for a cute robot mascot to do. Shooting someone point blank gangland style. That's what this kids movie needed.

No, he's a producer that has systematically held back every Hasbro film he touches. He really has no clue about what makes the franchises he's helping produce be great.

Let me put it another way...this guy finds directors, cinematographers, etc. He also tries to make sure a film stays on budget. If he's finding directors that have no love for the franchises they are making movies about and just want to see things explode in rotoscope, we've got a problem. And yes, this seems to be a running issue with Lorenzo. And when he finally finds a good one, he can't make them stay around (like with the case of Bumblebee).

Hasbro needs to kick this guy to the curb and get someone who grew up with these properties. And find their "Jon Favreau" director who will honor the legacies the franchises carry. Travis was the closest we got and the fact he's left for other projects means Lorenzo is once again failing at his job, IMO.

Only four out of six of the previous live action movies I enjoyed. 07\', DoTM, AoE, and BB. I have high hopes for the new movie, especially with BW being involved.

You are aware Dropkick is a badguy that turned people into see through slime? You know what the heroic hero of the third movie of this franchise did? Shoot a scared, dying old man in the head with a shot gun and it's a very uncomfortable and out of place moment in the movie. If Bumblebee did that it would also be weird.

100%. I’m glad that he’s smart enough to realize what a bloated mess the sequels became and also recognize that the first movie and Bumblebee had some actual heart to them, that made them more than just pure bombastic spectacle.

If he’s trying to convince the general public that this next one won’t also be a bloated mess, then he’s saying all the right things.

I still don’t know how it won’t be a gigantic, convoluted disaster considering how many toys they’re trying to cram into it, but they could yet surprise me.

As soon as I read that, I was thinking 'Oh, f***.'.

I was surprised to find that Bumblebee reminded Bonaventura of his 'roots'. And I'm worried to find out what he considers a 'personality' or the term 'emotion-driven'.. I was surprised to find out he actually cared about such things.

I'm also wondering if he uses the same dictionary as the rest of us.

Well, it's already known he didn't like the way Bumblebee was handled, and yet it turned out not to be a complete disaster. I want to say lesson learned, but now that the Paramount old guard are back, I guess I'll be keeping that optimism that Bumblebee inspired in check.

A lot of Transformers fans just want good, well-written, well-made Transformers movies that do justice to the franchise and it's characters.

I mean, other franchises have them. Why not us? We have good, well-written comics and TV series. Why can't we have good movies? Why aren't we allowed to want them? Who made that rule?

. The Bayverse was an absolute waste of potential. It could have been so much more, but the worst thing (IMO), the very first and biggest nail in the coffin, was that the people in charge of it never really cared. .Which they admitted to. And it showed.

Bumblebee, on the other hand was made by someone who did care. And it showed, too.

The Knightverse is a chance to do things properly, this time. Assuming they don't try to turn that into the Bayverse, too, which it seems Lorenzo is still trying to do, despite various continuity contradictions.

We now have a chance to revisit old favourites in and with more recognisable forms and personalities. We can get to know them better, instead of having them barely appear before being unceremoniously killed off, with many not even knowing who they were (supposed to be), or even remembering them.

We even have a chance for more likeable heroes, instead of ones you'd rather avoid in the street.

Because you don't understand the impact that Lorenzo has on the production of said movies. Is he a generic producer? Yes. But that's the problem. He DOESN'T think he's a generic producer and has had a hand in misguiding most of the projects thanks to the success of the first Transformers movie.

You don't ignore a problem. You fix it.

As long as an idiot like Lorenzo is around this franchise, it tells me all I need to know about Hasbro\'s recklessness with the Transformers IP.
