Target decided they would rather have people tying up their phone lines and bothering their employees rather than giving customers a a quick and easy way to check stock, online.
Yay! I feel so validated! Re: Tracks, if you're not in a hurry you can preorder him from Target or BBTS. Target says August, BBTS says September. Otherwise you can just haunt Target stores since they're gradually showing up at brick and mortar. Yeah, that's always a little bit of a problem but it's worse now because Target has specifically blocked and/or requested that Brickseek block info on certain DPCI's. They started with new video game consoles but I think they've done it with other collectibles too. People were taking the results as a guarantee and getting angry with the store staff when they got to the store and the item wasn't really in stock anymore. But yes, it does still work on some things. The listing for Kingdom Rodimus seems fine, other than not showing any stock on hand at our local stores right now. Thank you MG! I did it all for you. Even that's not reliable. I have found it to be completely inaccurate. As in, reporting that figures are out stock everywhere then seeing, both before and after checking the site, that they are in stock at the locations. I don't even bother with Brickseek any more except in moments of desperate, vain hope.
Honestly in that case you are probably looking at the wrong DPCI, either an old one or an individual figure when they only track the assortment DPCI. But I hear ya.
It's not even just the accuracy, which went from very reliable to completely questionable, but just that both sites feel bogged down and run poorly. They just seem straight up broken. I also understand places like Target not wanting a third party website tracking their systems and inventory as that seems like a good way to invite trouble. And yeah, PS5s and Xboxes were bad enough, but I'm sure people screaming in the stores and waving cellphones in employees' faces over Pops and Cobra Troopers didn't help, so I can understand Target blocking it all out.
