Unless it somehow cuts footage of Handsome Man and Adorable Moppet into the film and gives them a hilarious subplot about adopting a puppy... even while Ripley is gestating an alien queen in her guts... it won't be worth it.

Nooooo! Don't look to us! We look up to you for being one of the only places on the planet right now with actual grown-ups in charge! (I would totally adopt Jacinda Ardern as my cool aunt who lets me watch scary movies and eat too much pizza)

I dunno, I'll have a Carlsberg if there's nothing else going. It's not great, but it's not offensive either. It just passes through you. Sometimes far too quickly.

I still have a taste for some Stella, too. I grew up drinking it, thinking it was more sophisticated than Carling or Carlsberg (and it is! But not by much). It's a perfectly decent lager, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it being sold in Belgium itself... which says a lot.

Ah, they grow up so fast.

Sure, if you can find them sold at a less-than-extortionate price. I'm mostly off lager these days, but still enjoy cooling off with a good European lager on a hot day. But Peroni shot up in price a few years back, along with San Miguel. Birra Moretti seems to have slipped into Peroni's old niche, but even that's going the same way. Lager gentrification, perhaps?

But most of the rest of the year I'll go for a decent, if uncomplicated, ale. Doom Bar and Tribute can keep me happy for a long time. Not into dark ales and stouts or anything like that, but ambers and the like are also in my wheelhouse.

I tell you what, back in my yoof I went on a music tour in Belgium and decided that Leffe was basically crap, and Hoegaarden was where it was at. But having Leffe more recently I really liked it - either my tastes have changed or they've upped their game recently.

Also, why is it that outside of Europe beer always comes in crappy soft-drink can sizes? That's not a drink, that's a taster. (and whatever Double Brown is you can keep it. A weirdly Soviet-style livery on the can there, too)

(all coffee is awful. Until it goes in a tiramisu, when it magically turns delicious)

I threw out my CDs some years ago, but my most shameful one was fucking Aqua's album. And yes, it really is as terrible as you think it is.

As for Savage Garden, you owe us no apology, Doug. But you do owe yourself one. Savage Garden were shite.

Oh Boc. Oh mate. Oh dear. We can get you the help you need.

They weren't! I came to them very late having entirely missed them during Britpop's golden age (*wistful sigh*). Now, I love Lauren Laverne, I love the pop-punk style of Kenickie... but dear god she was not a strong singer. As fun as they are to listen to, you can tell why they didn't make it last.

Funny thing. Back in 2005 I used to play a lot of Unreal Tournament and listened to System of a Down while doing so. I'd not listened to any System in ages, but something made me get UT on Steam and decided to play Mesmerize/Hypnotize on Spotify at the same time. And you know what? I absolutely loved it. System had some great songs.

And some fucking terrible ones. They're about as inconsistent a band as you can get.

Honestly, I thought he was the most interesting-looking of the lot. That's a pretty intense glare he's got going on. What's the robot mode like?

Did not care for Trooper, to be honest. Seemed a little average and bland.

Kellogg, Ford and Edison together? Cool, three assholes just wallowing in their filth.

I'll.. not hold my breath. The connection with the Netflix shows and the wider MCU was always more implied than solid, and I've been half-expecting Disney to just cut the chord entirely and reboot the Defenders so they have full control over the whole thing. But still, Kingpin, man. I've been wondering that if Disney are going full Dark Avengers, who would be the person in charge of it all. Norman Osbourne would be out, since there's no way Sony's deal with Disney would let them have full licence to Green Goblin. Obviously I'd love Doctor Doom to be in there but Kingpin might be a simpler solution. Fingies crossed.

Also, I'm calling it now, the Abomination cameo in Shang-Chi is so that he can be recruited as Dark Avengers Hulk in the post-credits sequence.

Oh god, the leopard-rint boobs! She definitely looks like she should be waving a vodka bottle in an Asda car park at 3AM, screaming at Airrazor to "getcha focking 'ands off my maaaan!"

Love me some Axor. That headsculpt is so damn good, manages to work in bayverse and G1 equally well. Plus they're so tall!

I’ve stayed in London on and off for a few years with mates from school and have never had issues with anyone, but when I lived in Penrith and Lancaster had to deal with some really nasty folk. Seems we’ve both had similar experiences on this.

He's not without his flaws, but he's a well made lad (chrome aside).

Also, the first wave of Beast Wars is precious.

As an expat kiwi whose lived in London for the last five years, i've never once been threatened, mugged or assaulted at any point in my time here. Probably the closest encounters i've had have been xenophobic comments, typically from older women and the odd drunk idiot yelling shit. Nothing you don't find in any other city, major or rural. Assholes exist everywhere but that doesn't mean London is some sort of city where gangs roam the streets stabbing everyone left right and centre. Most of the stabbing/knife crime that happens is between rival youth gangs, it's far less common for that to happen to average members of the public.

Not to play Captain Hindsight, but considering their minimum order for free delivery is £40 I tend to break orders up. I order Leaders separate, and try and mix Deluxes from the same case assortment to ensure speedy shipping. Not sure if that helps.

Edit: woke up today to someone on ebay trying to return a £100 Kotabukiya. Apparently they dropped Zatanna and broke the top hat from her hand and want to return it because there is glue on it and the item was sold as "like new" and they think it had previously been repaired. The hands are white molded plastic, the hat is black molded plastic. How did they think the manufacturer attached the two? She's not actually magic.

Any 3 3/4 Joe fans with an interest in these fellas? Currently have them on eBay for what is likely a reduculous price, but it's hard to get a grasp of what they're worth so for now I'm just prospecting.

    Open to trades too.

Pretty much agree with this 100%. The weirdest thing about Garage Inc is it came out during the Load / Reload era, and its fantastic. They sound like they're actually having fun and remembering why they got into the whole thrash metal scene in tre first place.

Speaking of thrash metal that went a bit weird, Megadeths The System Has Failed was fantastic and seemed a return to form. It helps that I was in a really good place in my life and saw them live on that tour, but only solid memories.

Been a few mentions of Viking Rock / Barbarian anthems, if you guys haven't heard Manowar you should give them a listen. I'm pretty sure they're a parody band but no-one told the boys in the band.

She's magnificent. They straight up went all in with both feet to homage that original box art. It's the right kind of silly and I am well up for more of this.

Check your account, I had the same email but that payment had not been taken. I have enough money in my account to pay for Galvatron but not enough for the combined order he was in. So I can only assume they tried charging the full order amount.

Ever read/ listen to the alternative Alien 3? It puts Handsome Hicks front and centre. Takes the Alien in an interesting direction, but worth a go.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy Carlsberg, as you say it can pass on through without much issue, so useful for those marathon sessions with my (hardened drinker) mates.

Help you say? Might I need a hero to save me?

Isn't it the truth. Doesn't matter where you go in this green and blue world, every city and town is always going to have that undercurrent of arseholes who enjoy a bit of violence. My hometown has a reputation for it - and I can't say it isn't unearned, but mostly it's just nice folks going about their business. A few years back when I lived in Belfast, I was explaining to the building manager of my apartment building, and he very seriously told me that it was a big mistake: 'You don't want to go there, fuckers get stabbed there.' He said this while we were standing outside, in view of a spot still cordoned off with police tape were a guy had literally been stabbed to death a few days previously. o_O

    Good choice :)

The radio plays have a few odds and ends of Sirius Cybernetics Corporation content that wouldn't work in the books... Can't remember which book, but for example there's a passage about the Complaints Department being the only commercially successful arm of the firm; the company slogan SHARE AND ENJOY raised in illuminated letters a mile high... which then promptly collapsed the ground underneath them, so only the top halves of the letters show... and in the local language, those half-letters read "GO STICK YOUR HEAD IN A PIG", and are no longer illuminated, except on times of special occasion. :)

The radio version has that, but appends that on these times of special occasion, a choir of robots sings the company song, which we then get to hear. The whole section made me howl with laughter when I first heard it, admittedly I was about twelve :D

Yeah, he was too calm about it all, baffled rather than annoyed.

The only bit of the movie version I really liked was just after the Earth is demolished, when (a version of) the original theme music comes in!

I briefly owned one of that Lockdown toy. Sold him on after a time because back then I wasn't really collecting TF toys; I think at that point I only had Drift and Lockdown, this was around the time those two met in IDW comics. The buyer bought him off me specifically to display with Drift. These days I specifically collect IDW1-heavy team-ups for display (Lost Light, Wreckers, Scavengers, Infiltration units) so it's a bit of a shame really! Oh well, the new owner was happy.

Least they’re not cancelling orders when they mess up?!

Honestly, I'd forgotten that the mooted earlier TV version didn't make it to filming and got folded into American Gods a bit (And then they sacked Anansi).
Got all excited before realising you're referring to regular grape flavour Galvy, D'OH!
