I was just wondering, given the history on both soundwave and hotrod, if this would have an impact on the potential schedule of FT's.

Those extra copies will sell out insanely quick. Happened with Thomas. Also, who’s broke? Seems to be plenty $$$$$$$$$$ flowing in this community judging from the $15 preorders thrown about, the Cells ordered, the transforming primes ordered, oh, and 3 mp seekers.

Seems like our pocketbooks in general aren’t hurt enough to keep us from a cliffjumper at least 9 months to a year away.

 

This is a bad argument. Recent releases have been extremely easy to find.

 

Recent releases have been mostly reissues though. Sure you can still find Smokey, but at a prohibitive price.

 

What, TT making Cliffy, that means FT Cliffjumper will be delayed for a long long time...

Aaaand I can now close the ShowZ tab for FT toys I’ve been refreshing to try and get Parkour.

I have a feeling it won't. Both are very deep in pre-production it seems so I have a feeling there may be some time between both coming out to the point of no worry in regards to FT wanting to just go for it. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they just get squeamish and delay just in case like they did with Soundwave and Hot Rod.

In terms of a schedule impact as a whole, I personally see little in both impact and risk due to the state of both Cliffs at this point.

That’s actually not the point. Affordability and availability are both very important. If a figure is only available from RipOffJoe on eBay for $900 and it’s a $120 figure, then it’s not available. I’m saying that the affordability and availability favors a cliffjumper release from Takara. Don’t get me wrong, I have had tons of Fanstoys, though I’m currently down to just 17. They are good figures. Their marketing tactics are highly dubious. White night for them all you want, but I’ve worked in the toy industry, manufacturing, and logistics, and Fanstoys doesn’t make sense. That’s all. I won’t fault them for it. They can run their business however their conscience lets them, but pissing off a multitude of their long term customers isn’t good for business. Anyway, I’m not going to argue anymore over two hypothetical products without even any release dates. It’s an f-ing toy forum.

Yeah, what kills me is when we get people who alternate between saying others are either incredibly rich or too broke to pay monthly bills (usually the same person). It's like that sketch from Whitest Kids U Know where Abraham Lincoln heckles John Wilkes Booth, alternating between mocking him for being both skinny and fat in rapid succession. It's a real rollercoaster of extremes around here sometimes.

Anyway, I can't blame anyone for going one way or the other with Cliffjumper in terms of FT or TT. I'm sure they'll both look good in their finalized forms, and each will come with the flaws and problems that their respective companies are well-known for. Pick your poison. I'm getting both since Cliffjumper has been one of my most-wanted MPs since I started this thing, and I passed on the XTB and MMC as I wasn't satisfied with the aesthetic of either.

I’ve had toro, Ace, mmc, and will almost definitely get Takara. Will try to get FT too, but depends on the preorder gods since I stick with local vendors.

 

i just transformed my mp bee 2 again. its such trash. looks bad in alt mode, feels brittle, doesnt really pop in alt mode... transformation isnt anything special, feels like xtransbots circa 2017. i cant realistically expect that thing in the super news scoop picture to be better

Fuck, an MP Bumblebee retool into Cliffjumper was what I was afraid of. I really hope this doesn't cause Fanstoys to pull another Acoustic Wave with their Cliffjumper, because it totally destroys the MP-45 mold.

 

I said it before and I'll say it again. The days when an FT product would drop in price when TT announces a competing product are over, so there's no way FT will be impacted by what TT is doing.
