Does anybody have the raw measurements of the Ark in altmode? I'm planning a fairly large diorama and would love to know just how big the shipmode is so I can incorporate it into my plans!

 

Completely shredded the base the cog sits on. Had to carve it with an X-Acto to get the cog flush again. And before anyone asks, no, it was just rotating the shoulders for transformation and posing. So disappointed, right now. Not a fan of the current build quality of the current Titans. Better hope Black Zarak is the same quality as Scorponok...

Went ahead and removed the ratchet pieces on both shoulders before it went the same way.



Feels much cheaper than previous Titans. Lots of give in the plastic.

Maybe sand the teeth down a tad, if you can.

 

Same with me, I even tried rotating the hips one click forward to position the rear of the ship slightly higher. That solved the issue of the front and back 1/2 of the ship lining up better but then the leg halves don’t lock together into the pelvis correctly and so there’s a gap in the bottom where the ramps are. They went overboard on the ratchets but fell short on designing the locking tabs.
The ship mode was the main reason I wanted it with teletran being a nice bonus but if the ship can’t go together any better than this I may end up returning it to target.

Man, when my Target pre-order said "This item may ship in it's original packaging," I thought it meant like those brown outer boxes with the name/product codes of the figure on it, not that they'd just grab a shelf-ready Ark and throw it in the mail without any kind of protection whatsoever.

The box is kind of beat up, hopefully the figure inside is alright.

 

I’ve been on the fence about keeping my preorder for this one. On one hand, I want it because it looks pretty cool and I really like that it includes Teletraan 1/Mainframe. On the other hand, I don’t know where I’m going to put it and I think it would probably just end up standing there collecting dust.

I mainly collect Masterpiece and have bought a few releases in the War For Cybertron lines, so it’s not like the Ark would fit in with the majority of my display.

Any thoughts from those who have it? Should I save my money?

 

So I literally only opened mine up today, but I'd say getting this depends on how much you want what's offered up here for your display. I don't know if any of this will be helpful for you making your decision, but...

As a toy, I think it's got some problems and seems kinda unfinished in a lot of ways. But, for me, this was a (relatively) affordable way to get a bunch of historical TF stuff that I like in one package: an Ark, the last Autobot, Mainframe, Teletraan I, Sky Spy and a cool-looking bridge/core thing that features something that looks kinda like Vector Sigma. The golden discs are cool, too, but less of a draw for me. I don't really want to pay a ton of cash for more high quality/premium representations of any of that stuff, so this package works for me.

It might just be that shiny new toy feeling, but I'm happy to have it. I hope there's a modestly-priced upgrade kit that fixes some of the hollow bits/gaps, though. And some of those ratchets are scary.

Talk to Target CS about the damaged box. I had the same and they offered me 10% back, not a huge discount but better than nothing and worth a shot.

 

Good to know! I don't know who thought shipping stuff like that was a good idea. I guess it cuts down on packing materials, but man...with how some of these packages get handled, I feel pretty lucky that the toy itself isn't in pieces.

 

I’d be down for a Titan class Nemesis ship that could transform into the fallen!

 

Few things now that I got it in hand.
The bot mode is not that great in my mind. Those hands look like monkey hands with the shape and position they are in. The lack of finger articulation is offputting.
The Ark is what I got it for mainly. Push in turrets would have been great.
I did not add the extra corner pieces and it definitely looks less "gappy".
The rear tower is all that holds the back halves together. There is still a bit of gap near the back bottom by the ramp.
Why is that middle cover in gray plastic. Would have looked solid in orange plastic.

 

Best way to hold the rear of the ship together is to clip the legs together as if you were forming the shipmode, then putting the tower in place and locking it down, and finally... Drop the ramp, snap the two halves together and push it back up and the connections become much more stable. It's crazy there are so many connection spots to make it all work, but it will if you do it just right.

 

I got the Ark for alt-mode and it is disappointing that the turrets can’t move or be pushed in.

 

If you pre-ordered from Amazon, just a heads up: I just got a shipping update email this morning, they expect it'll arrive (via free shipping) between August 19, 2021 and August 24, 2021. About an hour and a half later, they charged my credit card.
