Actually yes, depending on if this is a prototype or a test shot. Very occasionally retools that have not yet received full steel moulds for the new parts will have their prototyped pieces assembled onto whatever the original figure was to test fit/engineering/etc. You'll notice Cliff has some internal parts in yellow as well, again taken from a finished Bumblebee. You see this a lot in non-TF action figures.

 

Porche seen on a TF movie set not long ago and now this; it really seems to be coming together.

 

I honestly wonder though, since they released Earthrise Cliffjumper and Studio Series 86 Jazz, unless they did want them to have real life alt modes, what has stopped them from making Masterpiece versions of them? Wanting real life licensed vehicles for them is the only reason why I assume they never tried.

 

Takara needs to learn how to clean this mold up. I can handle a backpack, but those feet are still nasty and will always bug me.

 

Ill stick with Toro and his Dora backpack.

 

Hopefully this is real but I had the opposite reaction. To me the details like the head sculpt look really off. If I saw these pics with no context I would assume it's a third party company making a Cliffjumper using Bee V2 as a base. If it is real, I'm hoping it looks way better in the correct colours and posed properly.

I was really hoping they would ditch the doors on the feet for this one.

Exactly why I still give Bee a pass across the board. The choices for what to do with something as small as a minibot become less so they had to do what they had to do with the backpack and feet. It's certainly not pretty but I believe it still could have been far worse. And he still looks great, taking those two gripes out of the equation as a whole.

But yeah, I hope to God we get everything here, this this this this this.

wait... this guy looks like he'll actually have a waist swivel? doesn't seem to have the back section near MP-45's butt that would inhibit the waist swivel movement. If I'm wrong then mehh... but hey! maybe??

 

Ugh I do not want this. Bumble bee isn’t the worst figure but I don’t love it so much that I need a second one.
I hope this doesn’t scare off fanstoys

You're not weird, MP-45 looks so good from the front I can forgive the feet. The backpack doesn't bug me at all in hand. But I was still hoping for some improvement with the feet because then it would be damn near perfect. Bee V2 looks incredible on my shelf but I was hoping Cliffjumper would look even better.

 

True, but I WANT it to become a trend/running joke, so I hope it continues. I mean it's so easy. You get a one-shot cameo by a character who almost immediately dies and then you just make him a remold of Bumblebee and get a toy slot out of it.

Maybe its tap out? I feel cliffjumper keeps getting the shaft. Its kinda like the episode of torchwood called they keep killing suzy where a former member comes back and keeps dying. Either way be it tap out or cliff i love seeing this character. I always liked him.

 

Yeah, he's so close to being perfect. Backpack is whatever, but the feet could be improved for sure

 

I'll hold out til confirmation. They are on a repaint l tear lately so there's that. I expected Cliffjumper to be a remold of Bee simply because scale wise they have similar proportions pretty different from the other minis. Never really had a problem with Bee's feet, he's short enough in alt mode to sit on a credit card and leave some change. And only Takara has the cajones to go FYF about the feet.
