There have to be good copies out there. The thing is you might have to go through a couple of bad ones to get a good one, thereby making this the most expensive Megatron ever  

 

The only true test is with a hammer. ---- " I thought you were made of sterner stuff!"

Finally got around to messing with this guy today in spite of his broken ankle, and I can't for the life of me figure out what on earth made GT use this 5% Transparent plastic.

It LOOKS painted, so did they just get a great deal on a plastic nobody else wanted??
And how did this make it past QC?

I just want the new weapon and effect part. GT if you are reading this, just sell those as a set, pretty please.

The effect part is actually made of chewed up BubbleYum.

 

Could be worse. I thought they KOed Austin Power's Mojo.

 

It’d be a good way to scrounge up the extra cash they’ll need to pay for all these replacement parts.

 

Honestly, for me at least, the effect part sucks. All the little tendrils on the bottom seem to get in the way when trying to attach the cannon to the arm. There may be a very specific way to put it on, but it is so stiff it's hard to manipulate everything while holding brittle plastic. It went back into the box immediately.

 

Plus, at least on my copy, it weighs so much that you can't pose the figure with the arm parallel to the ground unless you rotate the arm 180 degrees at the shoulder. The weight is too much and it forces it down. As a result he can't aim up. Only slightly or sharply downward.

 

Oh well, this is after all ... an old mould.

I just sent off some photos to omegalock for getting a replacement part, and on mine the screw is pointed. I wonder if they used a few different types over the whole figure, and somehow got the ones for the right foot mixed up or something.

 

Both of my ankles are split right in the center. I can’t figure out how it happened.

 

Finally got around to transforming my copy. Luckily there were no breakages. Everything was definitely tighter compared to my original Tyrant though.

 

My copy is fine.



Incidentally, did Generation Toy just completely disable the waist rotation with the crotch plate?
