    Depends on their criteria.

Figure itself feels sturdy enough, like it could take a shelf dive and live to tell about it. Some of the joints are a little loose, though, and the paint could have been done better on both chest and legs (legs largely due to the hip skirts which have "prongs" sticking out downwards). It's not up to the usual Wei Jiang OSKO standard, but still above where Black Mamba was at the time.

Question: how do you remove the batteries in his head? I unscrewed the screw and I think I partially loosened the lower back of his head, but I can't tell where the removable part ends, so I don't know what to pull on and I don't want to damage the figure or scrape the paint! Can anyone help?

Regarding the quality: The paintwork, while visually stunning, is very fragile, as others have mentioned. The fingers on my copy are relatively loose. The figure otherwise feels very good. Very hefty, very solid. The overall sculpt is fantastic in hand with the exception of the overly boxy torso.

I think the primary value proposition of the figure comes from comparing it to the other options. When ShowZStore had Fire Scorpion for ~$86, that was basically the same price as the Aoyi Mech, but with substantially more paint, more detailed sculpting, and more heft in the legs (and unfortunately torso). It's almost as good as the ~$200 ToyWorld version, but for a fraction of the price. At that point, particularly as a display piece, how much does the quality even matter?

I rank this above the Ayoi version. This one is just more detailed and looks more premium. Both of them have flaws though.

@bellpeppers is right. Same target character but in execution two different results. If playability, build, and sturdiness are your priorities, and you don't mind sacrificing movie bot accuracy, then AOYI is the way to go. He's super fun to mess with, transformation is not over complicated and can be done by memory. Some have had issues with his shoulder plate screws, I have not and he's been transformed plenty of times. But it's come up enough times that I'd be gentle with that section. But again he's super fun to handle.

Fire Scorpion is basically the next best thing to Toyworld's overpriced, fragile bot. He looks more movie accurate and is built well enough. The loose shoulder joints and the paint app issues are consistent. I've been gentle with mine and haven't had issues, but I never transformed him and he just sits there looking pretty. Aoyi is the one that gets most of the attention.

It’s be nice if a person could cherry pick elements from each OP and fabricate the ideal figure.

Truthfully, I wish someone would. Toy World seemed to get the look of the body down almost perfectly. Or at least, it's the best-looking transformable figure. It's just too bad the QC/functionality/tolerances is not up to par.

Fire Scorpion's upper body just looks too blocky, in a really boring way. You look at 3A and TW's design, and you see where it just doesn't make it. It's like, everyone gets really close, or they get the look but don't make a good toy.

Also, I would MUCH prefer something more MP/MPM sized versus this constant huge, 3A competing, take-up-all-my-shelf-space size we keep seeing. Right now, the official MPM and the OSKO of the SS version are the only ones for that. And both just fall short.

I would take Fire Scorpion's legs and feet, MPM 12's torso and arms except for the front portion with the windows. Either Fire Scorpion or Freedom Leader's front portion of the arms will work. I would also take the back engineering from Freed Leader to have a more kibble-free look while also looking more accurate like MPM 12. The hands... anything will do compared to what's there. I guess I'll go for Fire Scorpion since the Freedom Leader's hands are too loose. I'll take ThreeZero's head. There really is enough there to make the best Prime if someone tried.

I have the fire scorpion and the freedom leader. Never interested with the aoyi version, it is builky and not movie accurate. At this point i would rather wait for the mpm12 ko, maybe it comes with fixed and improved things.

I would start with the MPM. Get the truck panels off the arms. Swap out the static shoulders for ones that rotate up.

From the SS / Aoyi, the back of the truck cab would flip down to start forming the legs. The sculpt would be refined so that the rifle could be nestled between the bot legs in truck mode. The legs would look like a truck and less like the MPM.

WJ’s level of engineering to yield a better looking truck that can give the shoulders the panels without the cat ears.

Im thinking of getting this as a playable BBM prime. But that headsculpt is probably the only thing that kills it for me...

Why'd they have to base it on the studio series headsculpt when it wasn't screen accurate in the first place? Something about it just looks off to me

It’s the overall proportions that keep me from getting him. The arms just seem to small.

The figure wasn't finished. His design was rushed out the door as the hammer was being brought down.

I guess this is a 70% finished figure then? They made changes to the thighs and arms but i guess that was priority over the head lol

I might just bite and get this. Very tempted to resculpt the head.

Of all the 3rd party BBM Prime, this one head was my least favorite. When I got the figure in my hand, I was shocked at how good it looked in person. It's still not accurate, but it doesn't look as bad as the pictures. I think someone here already re-sculpted the head and posted some pics. It looks great.

Yeah! They resculpted the eyes and it looks so much better. Amazing what little modifications can do! The studio series eyes were just too long.

For me it's the eyes and the faceplate. It's a bit too squashed for my taste. I'm planning go do a heavy resculpt on the eyes, helmet ridge and faceplate to give Prime more of a disappointed dad look like he did on screen.
