    Okay, so episode 5....
-I knew Grayskull and I heard of He-Ro but never heard of the rest of these Preternia people. Guessing they were from mini-comics? At any rate, so this "heaven" only exists for previous wielders of the power sword? Everyone else just... dies, there is no afterlife? And I guess one Sorceress (who speaks in some caveman language). So there were only 2 sorceresses before? I thought from the 2002 show that Grayskull's wife was the first one, but then again this show is its own continuity.
-Orko's funeral was touching as well as Adam conjuring up a bit of Trolla for him.
-So of all the heroes, only Adam chose to exist in paradise as his normal depowered form. Guess unlike Bruce Wayne being a mask for Batman, He-Man is not his true identity, but I am OK with that. He-Man is a front for Adam, really, he can be just as insecure with his powers as without them.
-Guess Moss-Man is in paradise too, so I was wrong, Oppenheimer gets more than 2 lines in the show. Again makes me wonder, what are the rules of this place? Who can make it here and stay themselves?
-Teela's worst scene since the episode 1 outburst. The guy died to save all of reality, what else do you want him to do? And how can you NOT understand why he kept it a secret? Remember all the times you got captured by Skeletor in the old show (which I guess is not canon)? What if he read your mind?
-Roboto's system failure I saw coming a mile away, but not sure why he really died 'cause all he really did was shut down - his brain was still intact, only his power source failed. But they just leave him behind.
-Sure, Eternia is devastated but no, you just enjoy paradise, no pressure. Man Teela is done dirty by this show, now she manipulates her best friend to risk losing his soul forever by coming back.
And then she does not even thank him, thinks this is no big deal.
-If Man at Arms can destroy all those vehicles with one blast sweep... why were these guys any threat at all?
-I do admit I loved seeing Adam and Cringer reunited. It was a tear-jerk moment. Sadly immediately ruined by Sorceress not acknowledging his sacrifice (she has to know what it takes to come back) and just thanking Teela.
-Geez, so Skeletor can just pull any power out of his ass. He can just store himself in that wand - despite magic being gone and the wand itself being de-powered several times and drained of magic? Also, in again typical bad writing fashion, Teela and the others do not immediately attack Skeletor to take the sword away, they stand around dumbfounded.
-He even calls Evil-Lyn "Leenie". Like Harley, Mark Hamill even says it the same. Not hard to see this was written by the self-professed biggest Batman fan, now I see why he wanted Mark to do Skeletor. And she just falls back into her place immediately because they are in a toxic relationship. Skeletor even says "nobody would have wanted me as a man with this face." completely ignoring Evil-Lyn... Same abusive relationship as Harley and Joker. I am predicting now, Evil-Lyn will break free of Skeletor next season.
-So... how the heck can Skeletor just take the sword and use it? Isn't Adam chosen by the elders, who are the ones granting him the power? Why would they grant it to Skeletor? Does this mean if Stinkor got his hands on the sword and recited the words, he would be Stink-God, Master of the Universe?

Anyway, this was a stinker. Great animation, really abysmal writing. The choices they make with some characters and killing or sidelining them, that's just part of the problem. Kevin Smith totally forgets that Eternia is a big world, and leaves out some major players. Where are all the other Masters? They just disappear and are not around to help bring back magic?
Not to mention forgetting all the other big bads who would step in if Skeletor was out of the picture. King Hiss, Hordak, Count Marko, so many others - even if they were not in the 1983 show, since well this is not a continuation of that show, anything goes. Surely all the mages of the world would make a beeline for Castle Grayskull to drain it dry of the remaining magic.
No word on when S2 or whatever they will call the next episodes will be out, but if Castlevania was any indication, we probably need to wait half a year, even if they are ready. But I for one, am not really awaiting it with bated breath. I am gonna go back and continue rewatching the 2002 show to get this bad taste out of my mouth.

I have yet to see a lie. Show me a lie.

My comments weren’t snide. My comments were accurate. He-Man does not “step aside.” Obviously what he meant. He-Man will in fact still be He-Man in this show.

ClownfishTV, I believe, said He-Man steps aside because Teela and her girlfriend are better at being He-Man. Exactly that they meant.

A common question that I've read asked by people who've seen Revelations is:

    "Who was this made for?"

It's come up numerous times by many different individuals.

Again....perhaps part 2 will redeem part 1 in the eyes of the 70/80% of individuals who didn't like it. I grew up a big he man fan (look...I saw " He-Man and the Masters of the Univeese on Ice!" LIVE and IN PERSON as a child) and would have liked Revelations to have been different and produced enough support and interest for new physical product. I wanted it to "win" because I wanted new product. The fact that this isn't for me would have been fine if I were the outlier. After all... we'd still get new product despite my perspective.

A 70 to 80% disapproval means people who didn't like it are, by far, not the minority here regardless of what anyone says. That much disapproval doesn't sell product. Or maybe it does? Maybe a 20 to 30% base of people who loved it will carry Mattel and Netflix into financial profit on this project. Clearly a lot of people " hate watched " it lol.

    SPOILERS -
He didn't. He was literally in the show only as a disguise for Skeletor. Same for Clawful.

You remember when TFW2005 had a Thundercats sister site? You should have seen the forums there in 2011, all the complaining about the new series and the unjustified hate was ridiculous. And that show was not a sequel or continuation, it was a complete reboot. And the Thundercats fandom is a pretty small one, compared to ours or Star Wars'.
I can hardly imagine what would have happened had that site still existed when Thundercats Roar was announced, but they closed the forums some years before that...

Watched it the other day, really liked it. Had some flaws, but I really dug how it was a modern update that didn't dip into edgy grimdark where everything is artificially epic (looking at you, WFC). It still felt like it carried on the spirit of the original while telling it's own story, with some surprisingly poignant story beats (Orko as a highlight, but also Cringer and Roboto).

    Some spoilery thoughts:

    • Skeletor was enjoyable but yeah, shouldn't have been Hamill doing the Joker voice.
    • Teela and Adam not really talking about things by the end was frustrating. Bit of a typical writing trope that I wish would die already.
    • On that note, the anger/angst wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be from what people were saying. Hell it was even handled pretty well with Cringer calling her out on using her anger to hide her fear. Was only when she met Adam again that it got old.
    • I don't really get why people are upset with He-Man not being in it? Because yeah as a character he doesn't return until later, but the entire show is about him still, and how his passing impacted the world. And it's pretty obvious Adam will be a key character in the second half.
    • Seriously though, Roboto's last words were great. Fantastic take on the robot developing feelings trope. But then I am also a weirdo who never cared for 'does this unit have a soul'.
    • Shame the snake men didn't get explored, but I understand why. Only ten episodes, so they need to focus, and the technocult fit in thematically with the plot. And just because we didn't see them doesn't mean they're not out there doing their own things. Who knows what happened in the interim.

As for the controversy, I won't really touch on that because of board rules. I'll just say it's a shame. I'd love to get a new Transformers show with even half of the effort. It's perfectly fine to be pissed at something not meeting your expectations, but the sheer intensity of it has been ridiculous.

Okay, one more thing: I get people are mad that he lied about it being a direct continuation, and he shouldn't have said that, but...That's also on you, dudes. Especially on here. You're Transformers fans. Remember how Highmoon said WFC was a G1 prequel? Then with FOC a Prime prequel? Or how GI Joe Resolute was a sequel to the original cartoon? And those are just the examples I can think of. It happens all the time. Never fall for marketing hype, dudes. Which includes what creators are saying about their product.

I think, and it’s somewhat justifiable, that some viewers assume Teela won’t be “wrong” because she’s a female character and writers only want to show females in a purely positive light. But this is most likely a story about growth and Teela is using her anger to hide her fear and grief. You’re not supposed to like her reaction. This is all coming to a head in the second half when she transforms into her final form. On a related note I just saw Mattel’s description of her new outfit as “Mercenary Teela.” That should tell you something.

..never mind, I fixed it. I can’t watch that it’s like nails on a chalkboard. If you want to type something go for it. I’d rather jump off my roof than watch clownfish.

All I know is that this was the first show I've enjoyed in a long time, and not only am I anxious for the second half to get released, but I want the show to continue on afterwards.

Really wish I felt this way about the WFC series, but it is what it is.

With my friends who are into He-Man, it seems to not be an issue with politics, but that the show basically "butchers" (their words, not mine) Teela to try and make her a "strong" character. One of my friends even used the fact that the original show had several episodes where Teela and/or the evil woman were focus to argue that the writers were idiots for deciding they needed to "Luke Skywalker" He-Man. I guess my point is that the fans I talked to that didn't like this Teela didn't hate because of sexism, but because they feel that the writers didn't get Teela and others at all.

Yep. Cringer and her reactions to Man-At-Arms show that. Still don't like how it's done here, and it could go either way, but I'm willing to wait until the second half is here to see what they do with that.

Splitting it up into two seasons really was such a dumb call though.

Late reply, but surely you can see now looking back that they had access to information (He-man and Skeletor being gone after 1 episode, Teela being the main character) that was nowhere in any show synopsis.
I never watched Clownfish before, but I been told by a friend they DO have some source in the animation industry who hears things and shares it with them, this was not the first case they learned of stuff before official reveals. It's similar to the people here who leak what Kingdom toys will be released next.

So dumb to do 2 parts. They can’t break the story apart in their minds cause they know the whole thing and that’s pretty clear in Smith’s response. I am sure Netflix split it for viewership, the whole thing is done already.

It was everything you think it would be lol.

The star of the show, some dude dressed as He-Man, had the sewn cloth puffy muscle suit that you'd expect from the 80's.
She Ra had a huge ...tiara (?) / crown , flesh colored leggings and was pirouetting on blades.
Skeletor was skating around laughing maniacally with ice bouncing off of his blue cloth muscles.

What stood out the most after all of these years was an ice skater in a Grizzlor costume, that looked like a brown puff ball with eyes, skating around battling other characters and trying to scare the children in the stands. No Beastman in sight. Even as a child i couldn't help but wonder.....

    Why Grizzlor? Why?

    It was ******* tremendous.
