what exactly is wrong with Generations Scourge ~ as a modernized take on the character with an Earth mode, he succeeds at being a solid update that looks the part of the character.
He might not the best, but he's interesting, solid, and well-sculpted, and not just the 3rd interpretation of the same basic idea. I love how they used his wings to interpret his cape.

Heck, he's got a better proportioned torso then SS86 (I hadn't noticed until seeing him next to TR/Legends that SS86 is a bit... scrunched... in the torso)

Conceptually Gen Scourge is fine, it's just on a technical level he's really not very visually appealing. His head/face doesn't look great, tending to be lost against his huge flat chest, and his proportions are exceedingly plain and kind of awkward. he's just not terribly visually appealing, but I certainly like the idea of Scourge with a more modern alt mode.

He especially feels a little flat next to SS86 Scourge, who has fantastic proportions and finally replicates the details from the cartoon, like his diamond-shaped thighs and high collar. I really only wish SS86 Scourge's wings were cast in light blue. I feel like it would've resulted in a stronger front view and make the wings feel that bit more cohesive.

When I got Studio Series Scourge, I pulled out my other two Scourges to do some comparisons and some side by sides. I forgot how good Universe Scourge was. Really clever transformation. Incredibly clean Boeing concept jet mode. And the robot just looks really really nice. Solid figure, especially for one nearly 10 years old.

I agree. Even after getting SS Scourge, Universe Scourge still looks great. I have four copies of that mold and they make for a great set of sweeps. The wings look cool and the alt mode makes for a good looking jet mode with no robot bits hanging on the underside. And I like his weapons storage as well. It harkens back to when you could store your weapons inside your transformers and not have them just sticking out of a port.

I like Reprolabels for my Generations scale stuff. I'm a Geewunner through and through, toon accuracy is mainly for MPs.

I think Macabre would make for a good Scourge remold. Just give him a new head and chest.

Scourge is pretty fun but mine came with duplicate right side middle hovercraft panels. The QC gods frown upon me this day.

Got this guy last week, love him. It could definitely be better as far as kibble is concerned and god are the joints on mine TIGHT, but it's basically exactly what I wanted in a Scourge. The previous releases didn't do it for me. Looks great next to my Cyclonus. My only real complaint besides the kibble is that I'm worried about the durability of the paint apps on the hands.

Same. Just got mine today, duplicate right mid panels. Disappointing. Otherwise I really like the figure.

Whats the best way to fix his thighs to rotate freely?

Surprised I didnt find any mention of thighs here yet as they all seem to have them so bad, making it pretty imposible to pose or do anything with legs.

Is the back area (where the legs plug into the back in the spaceship mode) getting stress marks in the tab holes for you guys?

I got Scourge earlier this week, and he's fine? Like, there's nothing particularly bad about him, and he's fun to mess with, but he doesn't do anything particularly interesting. The transformation is definitely the weakest aspect, given that he wears most of the vehicle on his back, but I suppose that's just sort of inherent with his design

He certainly doesn't hold a candle to Cyclonus, but I can't get mad about that honestly. I really only got Scourge to have a complete '86 Decepticon trio, and he looks good with Cyclonus so far, so I'm looking forward to getting Galvatron and having all three of them together!

The Generations one was interesting, and I am happy to have had it at one point because the reimagining was fun.
The TR version was...okay. the best part was that the HM gimmick could be ignored, but it left the head hanging out of the back of the alt mode.
Now, the SS version is all I'll ever need for Scourge. Not a single complaint.

I disagree with this entire post. To each his own.

IMO Generations Scourge was an extremely mediocre figure in 2010 and is pure garbage compared to today's standards.

I agree. I have 3 or 4 of these, and they will make great Sweeps. SS86 Scourge will be my Scourge, but that doesn’t lessen how much I enjoy the previous versions.

Finally added this figure to my collection. Good figure. I didn't like the wings at first, but after seeing the silhouette, and even pics of the MP X-transbots version which follows that silhouette, I'm perfectly ok with it and in fact appreciate what they did here. I really like that the one fist is not in a traditional clenched fist pose too. Transformation is a little "massage the panels", but nothing too major.

He looks good, and he looks better next to Cyclonus. I hesitated to buy sweeps before with other releases of Scourge, but I could see double dipping on this.

As far as past releases of Scourge. The Titans Return one was ok. The cape was the aesthetic weak point, and a bit too small and plain. The classics version was pre-hollowing, so it already feels good in hand. It was a decent update of the character, and you did have a couple of cape options. He didn't look that great next to classics Cyclonus though, felt like they were from two different lines.

Figured I might as well work towards a full set since the figures aren't bad.

As mentioned scourge is held back a bit by the dated design but he isn't bad. No QC issues on mine. Surprised how much I like him at voyager scale. Unlike TR scourge, this one is solid which is really nice. Hated how wobbly that last one was.

In the end I think his size gives him an advantage over the others. If your looking for an imposing enforcer, this is the guy.
