Damn, I thought I kept up to date with most news, but entirely possible I missed that, I must say that part about gears being core clas does make zero sense.

Even so, like I replied above, what keeps me hoping is that (for the most part - looking at you, Armada Optimus -_-) once Hasbro hints at a character (like the ones that are part of fan polls), they eventually tend to show up sooner or later

Honestly not trying to argue, but I don't get your point, from what I read, you actually seems to be cementing that the designs on the posters are irrelevant.

Unless your argument is that, since the poster shares nothing with the actual toys, it means it's not based on modern designs, which means no CAD files available for the character.

Which is exactly my argument turned around, you said Polar Claw appears in his old BW design as if it mattered, I said that however he appears in the poster is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is that he's in there.

Still, once again, we don't KNOW if he will show up, I'm fairly positive he will, but I could absolutely be mistaken.

 

Seeing the news about MP Crosscut has me hopeful that we'll see him in Legacy, since we're apparently getting Skids. That is a sharp deco.

Between this possibility and the potential for G2 Stunticons, here's hoping that we get a Selects leak like we did with Kingdom... Makes it easier for me to know how to budget.

 

I'm sure Gears will happen eventually, for the same reason I'm sure all G1 season 1 and 2 characters will happen eventually, but I'm not so sure about Polar Claw

 

IIRC, Apollux (probably our most reputable leaker) was surprised to see the usage of that art in the Kingdom reveal, as it was very early concept art meant primarily for the internal project pitch. And as others have said, leakers also confirmed that Polar Claw, Gears, and the Croc Fossilizer never made it past the concept phase.

 

I think it all depends on how well the beasts do in the market. The show had a rather limited cast, if they want to keep pumping beasts, they will have to get to toy only molds eventually, unless they decide to go for BW Second/Neo. Either way, I'm not complaining.

I'm also unfamiliar with the BW toyline, since I watched the show as a teen, but didn't collect the toys, does Polar Claw have a good remold/repaint potential?

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Crosscut got a mainline release like red alert or shadow panther are

 

The artwork was done as a concept pitch, that's it. The presence of any character on that art doesn't mean anything because that was drawn prior to any work being done on the figures for kingdom

 

I mean... technically they could do both BW II and non-show BW characters since a lot of them share the same mold and many weren't even different other than names and personality. Like Apache/B'Boom... different names, different bios, but same mold and paint scheme. I'd certainly like to see more than a few of the figures I had as a teen get remade here.

 

They made the right move holding off on Gears and doing him (and Swerve) in the future as a deluxe. Core class is much too small.

And swapping out Polar Claw for Tigatron makes way mode sense too. Even in 1996 he was too undersized. More of a cub than a bear!

 

24 out of 27 characters in that poster have a confirmed Kingdom figure, including 4 repacks from a previous line. While being there does not in any way CONFIRM the existence of a figure in any stage of development, I think that, while not impossible, it's fair to assume this image was created far beyond the "concept pitch"stage

 

Except according to reputable leakers this image was the concept pitch for kingdom. So you're wrong based on the information we have available

 

That's what they did for him back in the 30th anniversary toyline. I'm hopeful he'll show up. But now I'm curious if Reboost will get a figure since he suddenly exists as a character now. Target exclusive? Or Selects repaint of mainline Crosscut.

 

Let's stop talking about the Kingdom Pitch Image! We don't want to get sad that Gears, Polar Claw, the Crocodile Fossilizer, "Catbone" or others aren't in it.

Anyways, I think that having "Lego Ideas but for Transformers" might work beautifully for us all. *Under breath in a grumbling voice*. If Windblade and Victorion were more successful, maybe this would be more likely. *Regular Voice* Anyways, It could be for Weaponizers, Modulators, and Fossilizers.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about Hasbro working on a New Chug Scale Menasor. I feel as though MP and Legends have multiple versions that are very good for this popular combiner. However, mainline colletors are left with a combiner that is not G1 and even the upgrade kits can't save it. We need a legit mainline Menasor with the same level of accuratcy legends has and then some. I still want it to be backwards compatible with other CW limbs though since it is mainline. Also for the love of Motormaster give him a trailer. Rodimus got his trailer but we're still waiting for Motormaster and his trailer.

 

Maybe go and poke around in the post wfc discussion thread and search for leaks 2.0 thread (now closed). You may find something there that makes you happy
