I dunno, man. I'm MP all the way. There's something to be said for the best version of a Transformers figure, imho, anyway. MP has the look I like and that goes all the way back to MP-01, which I wanted but couldn't afford at the time. Well, couldn't spare to afford. MP are more expensive for sure, but looking at my shelves and seeing all those bots is like being a kid again watching TF on tv.

So I have slowly come around to that way of thinking. Although it's a fine all of combiner wars and the War for Cybertron trilogy to realize that. But I think recent MPs like MP44 step over the line between high quality and complexity.

I have been eyeballing the Fanstoys Jazz. And I've been wondering where does he sit? Is he a throwback to the MP 10 era? Or is he more in line with MP44 when it comes to complexity?

FT Jazz is absolutely gonna be more along the lines of MP-44, FT pretty much since after the Dinobots has followed Takara's lead and made their stuff completely in line with toon-accuracy. That and their engineering is why you hear a LOT about their transformations, save for a couple like Wildrider & Skydive but especially true with ones like Kup & Blurr for example, being between mildly annoying and

But by god they look good, and Jazz is absolutely not any exception.

I'm okay with the cartoon accuracy, but I dont want MP-44 level of "oh god every time I transform this thing my blood pressure goes goes up from fear of breakage".

If its a pain, but practice will make the process smooth, I'm cool with that. I just want to transform it regularly without fear.

If you want to transform a FT figure regularly without fear, just make sure you always watch a good transformation guide every single time and be very meticulous with each step. Emgo will no doubt have a "just transform it" video, which tends to be the best to use.

AND you don't have to hear him talk in those. Don't wanna derail the thread, but, in my opinion, he is the absolute best reviewer in terms of thoroughness and attention to detail. It's some his mannerisms, the forced jokes, and just plain old coming off as trying too hard make it roooouuuggghhhhh to get through a whole review. Those transformation videos are an absolute treasure for when you're stuck on a figure though as he really has a great concept of what you need to see in order to get bothersome figures between modes. A few of my FTs never would've survived the journey between modes without him.

I love him for all the reasons you described. He is funny, optimistic, doesn't take himself too seriously, and detailed.

This x10000000 ad infinitum. He's my go-to reviewer for new Transformers. I always use his JTI's when I'm transforming my figures.

The JTI videos are good, but sometimes the regular reviews are better as he talks you through some of the trickier bits. Will look at both if I get stuck.

Agreed. I watch the review first and then the JTI. It REALLY helped me with Roadking and Maverick.

I always liked emgo, I can see why he has mannerisms that can annoy some, but I always have the impression he loves what he does every time I watch his videos, even if some of the figures he reviews aren't up to stuff

fwiw, I've had no issues with plastic yellowing on 3P figures. In fact, the 3d printed chest logo add-on for Phoenix that someone here made, yellowed visibly compared to the original run Phoenix itself that it was attached to. Phoenix stayed pure white for the 3 or so years it was on my shelf before I sold it. If you keep figures out of direct sunlight (or other strong UV light), give them enough free air so any off-gassing can breathe, and keep them clean, hey should do well. 3P figures are often using the same materials other products use, and most modern products in white plastic do not yellow like older generation ones did.

In one of his reviews he actually uses the UT version of Bumblebee Prime (I think?) as a comparison with the figure he is actually reviewing, and has completely fallen apart. Literally in pieces. Just a pile of bot laying there.

It's not a question of if he likes it. He clearly does, and that's great. I don't mind unbridled enthusiasm, and I love Ben for that reason. With Emgo, his jokes are just so forced, and just awful. Everyone knows (and avoids) the guy that tries too hard at being funny, and for me emgo is just the digitized version of those interactions.

It's a bummer because he shoots his videos well, and I enjoy when he isn't forcing humor. Unfortunately, he usually is and it comes off as trying way too hard. It's a bad look, and I really feel it gets more of a pass than he would if we weren't all nerds. Plus there's already someone being random and doing humous reviews well. If you're ADHD and and want to laugh during your little plastic man reviews, then there's Jobby, and he actually does it well.

Toyworld Freedom Leader(Unique Toys never made Bumblebee Prime)

Never transformed mine, and I like it as a display piece, but I always hear it's transformation being a nightmare and the upper part of my figure is becoming an untabbing, floppy mess. I regret not getting the DLX figure instead. Seeing him bury that figure was hilarious

would have a reviewer that acts like he enjoys what he is doing rather than someone that just plods along and acts like he really doesn't care, or is bored with the whole thing.

I watch Emgo's reviews with my daughter and she loves them....which means I love them. I admit that some of his jokes are hammy but they always make her giggle which makes me giggle. Being able to bond with my little girl while his videos are playing means his dumb reviews will always have a special place in my heart, cheesy as that sounds.
