So I finally opened the Red Guardian/Melina two-pack I got from Amazon last month? Melina came with a stuck right shoulder joint, wouldn't move up and down at all. Tried the freezer trick to unstick it, tried moving the shoulder, and well, that didn't work.



The little peg attached to the arm still won't budge either. Sigh. Hopefully the two-pack just sits there and I can get another for dirt cheap.

It's a really nice likeness of Rachel Weisz, for whatever it's worth. The Red Guardian's also much better than the Dynamo wave one from last year.

 

You forgot the sixth goal - Deadpool.

I find it weird that Amazon isn't matching the prices for Walmart's sales on ML right now. They're usually on that. And I really want a Zemo on the cheap.

 

Apparently all it took was for me to say something. It just dropped.

 

He's moving enough. At 200 a day, he'll get funded in 25 days. Then move a couple thousand for a few days. Probably another 6000 the final 48 hours. That puts him on par with the Sentinel.

 

But isn't the base goal of Galactus a lot more than the Sentinel? If they scale with the stretch goals, we'll need it to do a lot better than Sentinel, I'd think (unless you already took that into account)

 

I think the stretch goals will be 2000 a piece and unlocking them all -- probably 4 total --will take getting slightly more total sales than the Sentinel.

 

Id like to hope that the goals are 500-1000 considering the back is 14,000 but regardless i think it will hit all goals by the end considered it just recently opened up to many more countries and if they do like Unicron, the inorganic orders are added later plus many people don't back til the end or until it hits back goal etx

Yeah, I agree. Before anyone accuses me of being “unfair” to those who didn’t get him, I would like to point out Surfer is one of my favourite characters (top 5) in er, comics, toons etc. Top 2 in the Marvel Universe…and with that I have “jinxed” him in the MCU like I did with Hulk! LOL!

Hasbro should just release him on his own and produce a better tier “reward”.

Whoa?! Sorry to read about the news but I’m puzzled over the break…the white on her outfit and limbs should be white plastic so it can be paint that caused the stuck joint…

 

I know it does you little good now but if you ever come across a frozen joint like that again, boil you some water and pour it into a glass, mug etc. Dip the joint into the water and hold it there for 30 seconds. Take it out and begin gently working the joint around until it loosens. The plastic may feel rubbery or almost like spaghetti but it's ok, once it cools completely it will be good as new. I had to learn this the hard way with 25th anniversary GI Joes but I've since used it on TMNT, Legends, Neca. It always works. Sorry this happened to you and hope you can get a replacement somehow.

 

Im actually of the opinion that the Surfer deserves his own release since he’s a popular enough figure and a slot should be given to less popular heralds like say Airwalker or Firelord, but it looks like Hasbro is releasing him with Galactus unless they’re pulling a swerve later.

 

I agree. Surfer really should get a re-release in the Retro line or as a Fan Channel figure. Putting him in as a stretch goal just seems cheap on their part since there's ZERO new tooling required for him. Everything he needs was made with the Walgreens figure. I literally can't think of any way they could improve him unless they go above and beyond and add a flight stand for his board ala the old Toy Biz Surfer or do something unusual like vac metal (please no) or putting magnets on his feet and board to attach that way.

 

I agree as well. Silver Surfer should get a mainline release (mainly because he hasn't had one in a while). I feel as though extra figures with a Haslab should be characters that have an incredibly low chance of seeing the light of day any other way. I mean it makes sense to include Silver Surfer, but it'd be nice to get a slew of other Heralds.

 

Fan-channel Silver Surfer on Retro Card pre-order in conjunction with Haslab Galactus would have been ideal.
I only have the dark Surfer figure so I'm less incentivised to back Galactus due to my lack of a classic Surfer.

 

Yeah i do wonder if the ML team decided to put in the Surfer because he’s so identified with Galactus and maybe there’s no immediate plans to rerelease him, so they wanted a certain portion of the fanbase to get a chance to get him when they get Galactus.

 

It's a possibility. I'm hoping they include a super special version with Galactus and just rerelease the first Walgreens one as a fan channel exclusive.

 

I'm hoping for a vac-metal/chrome version to be released with Galactus and then a normal silver on a retro card via fan channel alongside the F4 retro wave

 

Pinless body too but I imagine if they did that they’d use it on a mass release Silver Surfer too. I imagine the stretch goal Surfer would have a very detailed paint job, maybe to evoke the way he was colored in the comic panels of the 60s with the screen dots.

 

Saw the Disney Plus wave at an FYE today for an insane 15 dollar markup. I guess that's the price of actually being able to find one.
