That sucks. Is the plastic around the screw translucent black? There's probably no way to tell, but I wonder if this is an assembly error, shipping problem, or down to the clear plastic?

Who'd you buy from? ShowZ is good about parts and I imagine other retailers are too.

 

i got it from tf direct. the box is in fine condition, if i had to guess i'd say the screw was overtightened and the more brittle clear plastic made it shear the plastic housing off. i can't get to the screw itself because the side of the leg is covered over by a smooth plate i have no idea how to remove.

I don't like to see that. Anybody have an issue like this with the original? I hope more in hand images show up so we can get an idea of its sturdiness or lack there of.

This happened to mine also. The foot was loose out of the box.

Do you have photos? Admittedly, a sample size of two isn't great but it is a little alarming if the first two collectors to post getting their copies have the exact same breakage issue. Mine only just arrived at the Shanghai Airport but the more breakage pics from multiple angles that we have, the better for anyone else to give their figure a thorough once over. Also, was the breakage already present and obvious out of the box, or was it noticed/did it possibly occurr during transformation on your copy?

 

I noticed mine when I was moving the foot to stand him up, right out of the box. I saw that the side of the. Leg wouldn't stay tabbed into that piece. It was later during transformation that I took a noticed that the piece was moving with the foot.

 

Okay, so what ever the occurrence was that damaged the figure it clearly took placed prior to you having opened the package. That really stinks man, I'm so sorry. I've never needed product support from GT, but I sure hope ShowZ is able to get something from them. Sounds like there's a good chance that I may need some After Sales Support.

 

Mine was from ebay. I sent a message and a pic, and they just said part will take 2-3 weeks.
I have mine in alt mode right now.

 

Same exact thing happened with mine

 

Just got mine from Omegalock and... I've got a broken foot, too. Same place again. I'll drop them a line and see what they say.
Otherwise I like it a lot. The plastic feels pretty good, and everything is very tight. Possibly a little too much - I might go round it and loosen screws on friction joints once the foot issue is sorted.
Just a shame a few of us now have a problem in the same place.

 

I just put mine in alt mode on the stand until I get a new part. It looks awesome!

 

Has anyone received a copy that isn't broken yet?

 

@williammmw and @Audara reported they received solid copies. Right now we have 2 reports of good copies and 4 reports of bad copies, with all the breaks occurring in the same location, it would seem.

 

Mine is out for delivery today. Feel nauseous worrying the foot will be broke. Will post later.

 

is this brokerage caused by the new translucent plastic? I have the 1st version, and don't remember seeing this issue before.

Have any US-based toy stores gotten this in yet? Its been delayed, and I’m wondering if issues like this are the cause of it. Maybe done kind of recall?

Soooo... I had read that the LED eyes were pretty sub-par. But when the head is translucent, the sub-par eyes go to a whole new level.
