If they keep putting great ideas next to bad ones, there's every possibility.

It will be interesting to see which way Hasbro goes with the name. Do they go with Inferno (Beast), like they did with Kingdom Megatron, or Predacon Inferno, like the Grimlock and Skywarp exclusives, or both -- Predacon Inferno (Beast). By the sounds of it, Kingdom Inferno might be repacked in the same line, so they'll need a clear difference.

Interesting, too, to see if his tail segments will be able to spin in bot-mode. It doesn't need a button or trigger, but simply designed so that you can just push it and it spins. Surely that's doable. No internal mechanism necessary like on the original.

I've been looking at TM Megatron again, and holy crap I hope the Transmetals are done right. Bring the vac-metal or better tech that yields the same look, please. Vac-metalized parts are my second most nostalgic part of the '90s. SO GORGEOUS.

The beauty of updated TM figures (and perhaps the TM2's as well) is that Hasbro can go show-inspired in all modes. There's no real reason for them not to.

The beast-modes aren't organic, so they don't need to be 'real world', and they're not competing/conflicting/covering the same ground as the MP line.

Fuzors may be a different story. Being organic, they may be in the same vein as the Kingdom figures. But with the Transmetals, they could basically do them as a Studio Series line.

I wonder when we'll get bat Optimus and croc Megatron. Voyagers, I hope, to match their Siege/ER heights. They'd be roughly 1:18(I'd guess) instead of 1:35, but they'd still look about right for the Beast Wars side of nuCHUG.

After seeing how great Tigatron turned out, I really, REALLY want to see what they initially had planned for Polar Claw and hope such plans eventually come to fruition. Polar Claw deserves an update of such quality.

Beast Wars needs to get Road Rage'd.

By that I mean that Hasbro and TT need to invent some new characters that utilise the show cast moulds, much like Road Rage was invented in 2002, giving Tracks his first non-Tracks/new character redeco option. Road Rage has since gone on to get a Masterpiece figure (a retool of MP Tracks), which itself was then redecoed as Loud Pedal -- another new character. What this means is that whenever Hasbro and TT release a new Tracks figure, like Kingdom Tracks, they instantly have two cards up their sleeve for recouping costs -- and they're not just a Black Tracks or a Silver Skids. They're their own thing.

Unlike G1, Beast Wars doesn't have Diaclone or Microchange decos to draw from, but that shouldn't stop them from just making stuff up if necessary. There's the BotCon characters to draw from, but that doesn't cover everyone. Sure, they can do toy-inspired decos, like the Worlds Collide Blackarachnia, but you can't do that every time you get a new Blackarachnia. A more interesting thing to do would be to invent a new character that has the same mould.

Look at Tarantulas, for example. He's a purple spider with yellow markings. Every time they release a new S1/organic Tarantulas, (hopefully) that's what he'll look like. But then what do you do with the mould? You can't use it for Blackarachnia any more as those paths have diverged (much like Cheetor and Tigatron (though Hasbro thought about making Kingdom Tigatron a redeco of Cheetor so perhaps we're not as far down the path as we should be)), and a toy-inspired deco is just going to be a darker purple, so why not create a new character with a real-world tarantula deco?

Moulds for Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Airazor, Tigatron, Scorponok, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia are all full of potential, and that's not to say the other show characters' moulds can't be further utilised either.

If every Optimus must have a nemesis, then so be it, but Worlds Collide Nemesis Primal is just plain lazy. It works with Optimus Prime because you're taking a largely red character and turning him black. But Optimus Primal is already black/dark in colour. They had the opportunity of doing something interesting, but instead went with the laziest option. What would I have done? A white gorilla, with the same purple, turquoise and red features. That thing would have popped!

Ultimately, I'm just looking for a way to help ensure that, going forward, when Beast Wars designs pop up, they're going to carry their weight when it comes to retools and redecos, so it can't be used as a way to rule them out. Just some ramblings for a Friday arvo.

I would buy the absolute shit out of real-world tarantula decos for tarantulas, give me a bunch of them
    A classic Brachypelma Hamorii
    OBT
    Poecilotheria Metallica
    Grammostola Pulchra
There are so many stunning Ts that could be made using tarantulas given that he has an accurate real-world tarantula alt mode like what he had in Sins of the Wreckers and not some oversized wolf spider

I dig elemental stuff. As long as they don't end up too Pokemon-ish, I think this idea would be fine.

    Fire-elemented Rattrap
    Water-elemented Terrorsaur
    Sand-elemented Tigatron
    Jungle-elemented Scorponok
    Arctic-elemented Rhinox
    Fire-elemented Silverbolt
    Water-elemented Cheetor
    Sand-elemented Waspinator
    Jungle-elemented Inferno
    Arctic-elemented Megatron
    Fire-elemented Dinobot
    Water-elemented Primal
    Sand-elemented Airazor
    Jungle-elemented Tarantulus
    Arctic-elemented Blackarachnia

    Etc etc etc.

With Blackarachnia's repaint being based less off her toy and more off it's card art, that potentially opens the door for more card art based redecos. If the upcoming Tigatron is the orange repaint everyone's expecting, then that would mean we'll probably see a red repaint of Tarantulas.

Skorponok's card art isn't too different from the toy, but that's still completely different from his show appearance.

Airazor will simply have the reverse and be show accurate, since her Kingdom toy was based on her original toy colours. That just leaves Rhinox, Primal and Inferno, but not every toy gets a repaint. Just looks as Siege Springer.

@DarkAxalonSyde True, not everyone gets a redeco or retool, but if you're a lesser known character that has some as viable options, it can only help your chances.

That's true. Then again, Doubledealer is hardly well known, yet he didn't get one either.

Still, if the toy and card art repaints keep happening, I'm absolutely giving them the Diaclone treatment and turning most of them into new characters.

Spiders are so beautiful and diverse it's almost a crime we keep getting the purple/black/gold rehash over and over again.

A cobalt blue tarantula transformer named Cobolt is literally right there waiting to happen. Low hanging fruit and yet we go without.

A giant spider combiner named Goliath Bot Eater.

A (offensive) Decepticon triple changing police car/whip scorpion named Pygi.

A Hawaiian happy face spider that has the same look as Scylla with the big nasty mouth on its butt...

So, so many options, I could go on for days.

You got a good point about reusing mold. After thinking about it, there are so many animals that share similar form, due to them related or convergent evolution. Take Cybershark for example. His beast mode is a shark, yet Hasbro can created a new character by doing some retool and make a dolphin transformers out of him. Another example would be Rattrap. There is so many rodent-like animal Hasbro generated from him, like a possum, raccoon, badger, etc..

My inner arachnophobe is terrified at the idea, but my inner Tarantulas fanboy would buy it without hesitation.

Often, fans are interested in seeing Cybertronian/pre-Earth versions of Beast Wars characters. But what if we reversed the equation, and did organic retools and redecos of some G1 characters...

    G1 Dinobots:
    • Grimlock - Dinobot redeco
    • Slag - Rhinox retool
    • Sludge - Rhinox retool
    • Snarl - Rhinox retool
    • Swoop - Terrorsaur redeco
    G1 Predacons
    • Razorclaw - Tigatron retool
    • Divebomb - Airazor redeco
    • Headstrong - Rhinox redeco
    • Rampage - Tigatron redeco
    • Tantrum - Rhinox retool
    G1 Autobot Cassettes
    • Ramhorn - Rhinox redeco
    • Steeljaw - Tigatron retool
    • Nightstalker - Tigatron retool
    • Stripes - Tigatron retool (this could be a name for the orange version of Tigatron)
    • Dile - Dinobot redeco
    • Zaur - Rhinox retool
    • Graphy - Terrorsaur redeco
    • Noise - Megatron redeco
    G1 Decepticon Cassettes
    • Ravage - Cheetor retool
    • Laserbeak - Airazor redeco
    • Buzzsaw - Airazor redeco
    • Garboil - Airazor redeco
    • Ratbat - Airazor retool
    • Wingthing - Airazor retool
    • Howlback - Cheetor retool
    • Slugfest - Rhinox retool
    • Beastbox - Optimus Primal redeco
    • Squawktalk - Airazor redeco
    • Overkill - Megatron redeco
A lot of the designs would be used multiple times. For example, if you retool Tigatron into a lion mould, and you can use it for Razorclaw, Steeljaw, Nightstalker and Stripes.
