I wouldn't say no to more of them either. I ended up double dipping on Kingdom Blackarachnia and am already contemplating the Toy-accurate deco one coming out.

I don't think we'll have to worry about what happened with Windblade. The reason the backlash got so big was probably because Windblade was a popular character with very little in decent toy representation. Arcee has Thrilling 30s, Earthrise, and Masterpiece, while Blackarachnia has Kingdom, Legends, Masterpiece, and Animated if you want to count that one, and all of them are great to varying degrees. Windblade's original toy doesn't have the best head sculpt and can't stand well, the Titans Return version is hard to find, and everything else is either RID2015 or Cyberverse, and if there's anything Vangelus has drilled into my head from the TFW podcasts it's that we still don't have a decent warrior Windblade in that line. Some of the arguments I read on the FameToys Windblade was that it wasn't just a disservice to the character, but a missed opportunity to have a decent Windblade in people's collection, transformation or not. After every other Windblade missing the mark, they didn't wanna be stuck with that design as their definitive Windblade. I hope I don't have to eat my words on this, but the same people who love Windblade and were upset with Flametoys probably don't feel the same way about Blackarachnia or Arcee. Even if they do, there are decent, alternative options, unlike with Windblade.

 

Dammit, now I'm tempted to get Arcee and Windblade.

How hindered are the articulations in combined mode?

The Jetfire armor looks definitely too bulky. Jazz is cool, but the picture of the prototype makes the waist look a bit too thin. I'm looking forward to see how they look in colors.

Last update from Flame Toys saids around November but who knows, Flame Toys famous on delaying their stuffs.

I think some people have written off Blackarachnia as a lost cause because that's just always been her design (and to some extent her character early on).

Which is why Windblade stung. She was being presented as the female face of the franchise. One evergreen design that carried across multiple iterations. She was a central character along side Bumblebee during the first season of Cyberverse. It's completely baffling she's yet to get a Deluxe toy in that line. It's like HasTak suddenly kicked her to the curb.

With BA, you at least had Airazor to balance it out by having a feminine design without being hyper-sexualized. I think people would be just as disappointed if a company gave her a T&A overhaul.

 

I actually like their model kit Megazord design better... it's modernized and streamlined, but closer to the original design, not quite as extreme as the larger figure. I wish like heck that the model kit would combine too though, haha.

 

will Banzai-Tron ever get a decent Transforming toy?
