i reckon he looks better than cheetor by far, and what did you expect? hes always shared engineering with cheetor. but he isnt a retool, he shares engineering with the cheets. there is a difference

 

I'd say BW2 and Neo are fine, and have some banger designs, but yeah...ignoring their adaptations of the western beast era seasons is definitely for the best.

 

Agreed. I will never understand why it is Japan's BW dubs were the official equivalent to Yugioh: The Abridged Series.

He is a completely new mold. He just shares like, one design trick with Cheetor, and even then the end result looks decently different.

He's much, MUCH more than just an enlarged retool.

You don't have to stick it anywhere. The show model cheats, there's no way a gun that big is going to pop out of a tiger on a mainline budget, nor should it be forced to. Some things are just going to be toyetic, and setting weapons aside in certain modes is going to be a given sometimes.

If golden disk tigatron is not too orange, maybe I can just give Cheetor his gut gun.

 

I won't say he's better than Cheetor until I get him personally, then I can see which one is the more fun toy with the more entertaining transformation. Although it is definitely fair overall to compare them, they are historically very similar designs after all, I just feel like it's a smidge unfair to compare the outcome of a deluxe with a voyager.

Of course a voyager is gonna come out looking more show accurate, it has the room in it's budget to do that. This is also a case where I feel bigger ≠ better, because Cheetor should be shorter than Tigatron. Which is definitely a factor as to why each size class works better for each character.

I also actually really like Cheetor. The only real issue I have with Cheetor is the like of a gun, but I've kinda learned to live with that. Hell, if the orange Tigatron pans out like is speculated, I might just give Cheetor his gun, it's not exactly right but orange is close enough to yellow.

 

Well now…I want Tigatron now!

 

He does looks better than Cheetor, though I'm still underwhelmed by the fact that he still shares the same body with a Cheetah. The Tiger body looks like it's malnourished.

It looks good, almost great, but again, for me, it's a case of great ideas next to bad ones.

Bot-mode is almost perfect, and again, I get that sense of why fans have been calling certain figures mini-Masterpieces in recent years. The overall design is great, GUT GUN!, articulation as expected, head sculpt looks accurate, kibble used well on the forearms, bulky feet, and the leg design works given the larger size and better incorporation of the tiger pieces into the front. I'd be interested to see if he can actually pose without the heel spur deployed.

It suffers from the same kibble around the shoulders and upper arms as Cheetor. But I have a solution for that, as I did with Cheetor.

Marring it slightly, too, is the butt-flap. It serves no purpose, despite the fact it's hinged -- like Cheetor's groin-flap. Make it detach, like on the Original figure, and along with the (*sigh*) tail-whip, create a tail-gun instead! If it needs more bulk, add pieces of kibble that detach from around the shoulders to create a blaster that pieces together. One, you get another gun. Two, it makes the kibble around the shoulders more accurate to the show.

Shut the f&*k up. This isn't G1 with fists just laying about when in alt-mode. This is Beast Wars, that revolutionised all pieces being used or hidden in alt-mode, then used or assembled in bot-mode. It's part of the history of the brand.

The beast-mode itself is ok, but has some weird proportions going on. The neck is a little long, and it's like he needs some more bulk around his... guts. Hm, I wonder what could have gone there...

The tail just sort of hangs lifelessly down. Some articulation would have been nice. We still have the toe of the robot feet poking out the back of the legs, again, like Cheetor. The gap-fillers in the legs is a nice touch, but couldn't the robot foot itself have been used to fill the gap and hide away? Perhaps not.

The lack of incorporation of the gut-gun... hurts. You're doing all this great work, you've focused an entire line of Transformers with beast-modes on having beast-forms accurate to the real world, and then BAM!, you just hang the gut-gun off the underside of the beast UPSIDE-DOWN!

And I hate the cream/yellow colour. Give me a straight-up white version.

Don't get me wrong. I like it, he's probably pipped Primal at the post for best Voyager of the line, and like all the other Beast Wars figures in Kingdom, I'll be picking him up as soon as I can. But again, like the other Beast Wars figures in Kingdom, it's a case of great ideas next to bad ones.

 

So, the version of Tigatron that I'll actually buy my son, since he'd absolutely destroy an MP-50, stores his weapon as a giant brainy hang dang? They designed Tigatron to hang dong, and I am here for it. I'm buying 10.

 

Why two shades of white ? With the same white for all the body would have been perfect (like the MP version)
